1983 - Started Racing Career at South Boston and Orange County Speedway.

1987 - Won Track Championship at South Boston Speedway.

1990 - Track Champion at Orange County Speedway in Street Stocks.

1991 - 2nd in Points With 3 Wins at Orange County Speedway.

1992 - Winston Racing Series Rookie of the Year at Orange County Speedway.

1993 - Best Sportsmanship Award at Orange County Speedway.

1994 - 3 Poles and 18 Top 5's Racing at Different Winston Touring Series Tracks.

1995 - 5 Poles and 2 Wins at Orange County and South Boston Speedways finishing in the top ten in points at both tracks, starting in only half of the races, due to touring other tracks.

1997 - Drove the #15 Austin Foods Chevy in NASCAR's Slim Jim All Pro Series. Scored 1 win at Bristol. The only rookie to win in 1997.

1998 - Drove in the Truck Series and ARCA for Mansion Motorsports.

1999 - Drove for Mansion Motorsports in the Truck Series, ARCA, and Winston Cup Series. Won super late model races at Southern National Speedway.

2000 - Made first career Winston Cup race with Mansion Motorsports at Charlotte, made 3 total Winston Cup races. Raced in ARCA and winning in local super late model races.

2001 - Made 3 Winston Cup races with Mansion Motorsports Dodge. Records best Winston Cup Start & Finish after switching to Dodge. Made first career Busch race. Raced in 2 USAR Pro Cup races.

2002 - Made 2 Winston Cup races and 2 Craftsman Truck races with various Dodge teams. Won the International Truck Challenge Event at Lowes Motor Speedway (the tractor trailer driving competition for the race team's transporter drivers).

2003 - Tested with Petty Enterprises at Daytona. Worked for Travis Carter Enterprises Winston Cup team #66 and #54. Raced in Cup, Busch, and Truck Series.

2004 - Made six NEXTEL Cup races, a career high; including both races at Pocono. Made 2 Busch races; recorded career best Busch Series start and finish, both at Rockingham. Made national news headlines when flipped his only car over at Rockingham in the Cup race.

2005 - Made nine NEXTEL Cup races with McGlynn Racing. Long recorded two top-25 starts, including a career-best 20th at Atlanta. Carl also qualified for both Bristol and Dover events on the schedule.

2006 - Qualified for Bristol NEXTEL Cup race in Fall. Also qualified for six Busch Series races, one Truck Series race at Charlotte, and one Hooters Pro Cup race at Bristol. Long won the championship late model race at Orange County Speedway.

2007 - Qualified for 3 ARCA races, with a top 10 finish at Gateway. Also qualified for 2 Nationwide Series races. Ran 8 USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series races, with a 2nd place finish at Concord.

2008 - Qualified for 2 Nationwide Series races, including one with his own start-up Nationwide team. Also finished on the lead lap in the Sprint Showdown. Ran full USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series schedule, with one top 5 and 3 top 10's.

2009 - Started 2nd in the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Showdown due to qualifying being rained out and the field set by the qualifying draw.

 2010 - Drove in the debut races of Fleur-de-Lis Motorsports in the Nationwide Series. Carl qualified for Michigan and Richmond, with a best start of 31st and best finish of 31st. Also qualified Fred Bickford’s Dodge into the race at Gateway. Made 10 starts in the Camping World Truck Series, including 7 with Daisy Ramirez Motorsports and 2 with Team Gill Racing. In the #01 truck, Carl led a lap at Kansas and had a lead lap, 11th place finish at Dover, a career high.

 2011 - Made the field for 25 Nationwide Series races, driving Chevrolets and Fords for Rick Ware Racing. Had strong qualifying runs at Bristol and Texas, securing 22nd and 26th place starts, respectively. Finished 28th at Bristol, a season best and tying his career best. Also started a Camping World Truck Series race at Dover.

 2012 - Qualified for 9 Nationwide Series races with Rick Ware Racing. Best start of 32nd twice (Atlanta and Dover).

2013 - Started 12 Nationwide Series races (5 with Rick Ware Racing and 7 with Mike Harmon Racing). Qualified 24th at Phoenix. Finished 28th at Kentucky, again tying his career best. Most recent Camping World Truck Series start to date in Montreal, driving for SS Green Light Racing.

2014 - Made 16 Nationwide Series races for several different teams, including 4 starts in JGL Racing’s #93. MBM Motorsports debuted the #13 car, with Carl qualifying it into both Dover races and Michigan. Tied career best finish for the fifth time with a 28th place at Iowa.

2015 - First full season for the two car MBM Motorsports team (#13 and #40). Carl drove in 15 races, and scored an Xfinity Series career best finish of 26th at Kentucky.

2016 - The two car MBM effort continued for a second full season. Carl started 12 races, earning Top 30 finishes at both Talladega and Charlotte. Made his 100th Xfinity Series start at Dover. 

2017 - Carl made his long-awaited return to NASCAR's premier series, qualifying the #66 Chevrolet at Kansas and finishing 31st, his second-best career Cup finish. He raced in the Monster Energy Open and finished 17th. Carl also raced at two historic tracks on the Cup schedule later in the year. His start at Martinsville was his first race in the premier series at that track. In addition to fielding the Cup car at more than 10 events, MBM Motorsports competed in its third full-time season of the Xfinity Series with both cars. Carl qualified for 11 races and scored a 27th place at Bristol, his second-best finish in the series. 

2018 - MBM Motorsports set several team personal bests with 20 starts in premier series points races and 81 Xfinity Series starts between two full-time and two part-time teams. The Xfinity season was highlighted by MBM's first double Top 15 result at Daytona in July, including a 7th place for Timmy Hill. Carl Long qualified for 8 Xfinity races, achieving his 125th start in the series at the season finale in Homestead-Miami; the race marked the final time a Dodge will compete in one of NASCAR's national series for the foreseeable future. Carl finished in the Top 33 in 4 of his 8 races in 2018.  

2019 - A breakout season for the MBM Xfinity program, which set new team best finishes on 19 of 25 active tracks and fielded four full-time cars for the first time. Highlights included Timmy Hill placing P7 at Bristol, Austin Hill reaching P9 at Indianapolis, and Chad Finchum scoring P15 at Texas. The MBM Cup program continued to run a partial schedule and competed with two entries for the first time at Kansas. Team owner Carl Long started two Xfinity races. He qualified an impressive 23rd at New Hampshire as a Go or Go Home car, and he matched the best finish of the season for the #13 car with 28th at Dover.

2020 - Carl led MBM Motorsports to another strong season despite the outbreak of the COVID-19 global pandemic. MBM fielded the #66 car for Timmy Hill in the entire NASCAR Cup Series season, highlighted by successfully qualifying into the Daytona 500, scoring lead lap Top 20 finishes at Bristol and Talladega, and earning P5 stage points at the Charlotte Roval. The MBM Xfinity teams earned stage points three times and regular drivers Timmy Hill (P3 at Daytona) and Chad Finchum (P11 at Talladega) picked up career-best finishes. Hill added Top 15s in both Bristol races and a P8 at Pocono. Carl himself ran the full race at Martinsville in the first Xfinity race at the track since 2006 and finished 32nd.

2021 - MBM Motorsports continued under Carl's leadership, running two part-time Cup cars and several Xfinity cars. David Starr picked up the sixth Cup Top 25 for MBM at Texas. The Xfinity teams scored five Top 15s and 14 Top 20s on the season, as well as 21 lead lap finishes, a new program single season best.
