►01/20/2020 - Homestead Cup Results

MBM Motorsports concluded its 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series campaign at the season-finale Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Both scheduled Friday practice sessions were cancelled due to rain, preventing Timmy Hill from taking his #66 Generx Generators / FixMyGen.com Toyota Camry onto the speedway until Saturday. NASCAR cancelled qualifying, set the starting grid according to the rulebook, and reassigned the track time on Saturday originally allocated for qualifying to a 50-minute practice session, the lone track activity for the Cup cars prior to the Championship-deciding event.

Hill lined up 40th for the start based on 2019 car owner points. The Port Tobacco, Maryland driver took advantage of some late attrition to reach P33 at the checkered flag, securing the fourth Top 33 for the #66 Cup team in 2019. The result is a team-best for MBM at Homestead in Cup, a mark previously held by David Starr finishing 36th in 2017.

►01/20/2020 - Homestead Xfinity Results

The 33rd and final race on the NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule in 2019 took place at the 1.5-mile Homestead-Miami Speedway. There were two scheduled practice sessions for Friday, but rain reduced Practice 1 to a duration of just 13 minutes and outright cancelled Practice 2. With 39 cars entered for the 38 available starting positions, the pressure was especially ramped up for qualifying for the teams deep in the owner points that needed to qualify into the Top 33 to make the race on time.

Joey Gase, driving the #35 Generx Generators / Brentwood Toyota Supra and attempting to make his 240th Xfinity series start, only got one lap of practice prior to qualifying. On his time trial lap, he picked up more than 1.4 seconds from Friday, but missed the Top 33 by two tenths of a second. The #35 took a provisional and lined up 35th for the race start. During the race, a throttle stop came loose that prevented the car from reaching its full throttle capability. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native soldiered home to the checkered flag in 27th place, his second-best Xfinity result at this track (23rd in 2018). P27 is also the best-ever finish for an MBM Motorsports Xfinity entry at Homestead-Miami (previous best: 30th, twice).

Timmy Hill returned to the seat of the same #13 Generx Generators / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Supra he last piloted at Texas Motor Speedway two weeks before Miami. Hill was one of four drivers to not complete a single lap of practice entering qualifying, and the #13 car had to make the Top 33 to get in the show. The Port Tobacco, Maryland driver was the third driver out to attempt to qualify and he laid down an impressive 33.556 second lap, which wound up 24th quickest and three-quarters of a second safe to the Top 33. The 26-year-old completed 57 laps before retiring the car with brake issues. He finished 34th.

Chad Finchum looked to carry forward the momentum from his incredible performance at the last Xfinity intermediate track (Texas, P15) to Homestead. The original practice plan was for Finchum to shake down the MBM #66 car for teammate Bobby Dale Earnhardt, but approaching precipitation forced the team to abandon those plans and get Finchum out for practice in his #61 Amana Heating & Air Conditioning / Smithbilt Homes Toyota Supra. The Knoxville, Tennessee native got only two laps of practice, placing 28th fastest in the session. He improved his time in qualifying by 1.5 seconds and earned 29th place on the starting grid, locked into the field by more than a half second.

On the initial race start, an accordion-style stack-up occurred, and Finchum dove out of line to avoid damaging his #61 Toyota Supra. NASCAR determined that Finchum committed a start violation and forced him to serve a pass-through penalty under green. Fortunately, an early yellow flag enabled the 25-year-old to take the free pass and return to the lead lap. For the remainder of Stage 1, the #61 team worked on improving the stability of the car on corner entry with pit stop adjustments. Mechanical unreliability struck coming to the green flag to begin Stage 2 in earnest. The #61 broke a valve spring, and Finchum was forced to go to the garage with 53 laps complete, citing engine problems. They were classified 35th in the final rundown.

Follow Chad Finchum on Twitter @ChadFinchum.

Without Chad Finchum getting a chance to test the car first, Bobby Dale Earnhardt had to jump in the #66 Hyatt Life Sciences Toyota Camry and work up to speed in his first trip to Homestead with very limited practice time. He did manage to get 8 laps completed in the 13 minute session, but his speed had to improve drastically to qualify into the field on time. Earnhardt did make a huge step forward in qualifying, picking up more than 3.2 seconds from his best lap on Friday, but he missed the Top 33 by 0.253 seconds and the #66 suffered its second DNQ in 2019.

►01/20/2020 - Phoenix Cup Results

Joey Gase returned to the MBM Motorsports Cup operation for his final premier series start of 2019. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native practiced 39th fastest in the first session on Friday. He picked up nearly three tenths of a second in Practice 2 and jumped up to 34th fastest on the time sheet. Come qualifying on Saturday, Gase found another six tenths of a second and set his fastest lap of the weekend to that point at 27.903 seconds, placing him 38th in the starting lineup.

In taking the green flag on Sunday, the 26-year-old began his 11th Cup race of the season, the most Cup events he has qualified for in a single-season. In his fifth premier series start at ISM Raceway, the driver of the #66 Fan Memories at Watkins Glen Toyota Camry found himself racing #27 Joe Nemechek of Premium Motorsports and #77 Reed Sorenson of Spire Motorsports for position through Stage 1 and 2. Early in Stage 3, motor trouble returned for the second straight week. A broken valve ended the afternoon for Gase after 170 laps and left him with a 38th place finish.

►01/20/2020 - Phoenix Xfinity Results

The MBM Motorsports #61 Xfinity team put together yet another excellent race in 2019, this time in the penultimate round of the championship: the Desert Diamond Casino West Valley 200 at ISM Raceway near Phoenix, Arizona.

Tommy Joe Martins joined MBM for his final round as a driver in the current season. The #61 Diamond Gusset Jeans Toyota Camry practiced 30th quickest in P1 after just a few shakedown laps. Martins picked up the pace for P2, and his 28.752 second lap placed him 23rd quickest. Martins found 4 more tenths of a second in qualifying, despite locking up the left front tire on his warm-up lap. His lap of 28.337 seconds earned him 27th on the grid, but a pre-race tire change meant Martins had to start the race from the rear of the field. NASCAR Statistics recorded Martins made 22 green flag passes, tied for the 12th most in the field, and had an average running position inside the Top 20. This week the Como, Mississippi native was able to convert on the speed shown throughout the race weekend and obtain a strong result. The #61 took the checkered flag in 17th, a personal-best for Martins in his run with MBM and best finish overall since his P11 at Iowa in 2017. Martins picked up his fifth Top 20 of 2019, and the MBM #61 earned back-to-back Top 20s for the first time. P17 is also a best-ever finish at Phoenix / ISM Raceway for the MBM Xfinity program.

Joey Gase in the #35 Donate Life Arizona Toyota Camry shared a similar practice agenda as the #61. Gase ran five laps in P1 and was classified 32nd fastest, but he stepped it up in P2 to go 26th. He found another two-thirds of a second in qualifying to wrestle the #35 up to 22nd place in the starting lineup, a personal-best since Pocono in June, 20 races prior. In the race, the Cedar Rapids, Iowa native was on the edge of a Top 20 result, but on a late pit stop received an uncontrolled tire penalty that dropped him back to 24th place at the finish. Despite the setback, the #35 did earn their 15th Top 25 finish of the season and equaled their finishing position from the first Phoenix race of 2019 back in March.

Bobby Dale Earnhardt made his third Xfinity start of 2019 at the ISM Raceway. Being Earnhardt's first-career event at this track, MBM had regular Xfinity competitor Chad Finchum practice the #66 Copeland Insurance Agency / Hyatt Life Sciences Toyota Camry for a few laps in both Friday sessions to help get the team a setup baseline. Earnhardt qualified the car in the 38th position. The race was all about making laps and garnering experience, which Earnhardt achieved, taking the checkered flag on track in 28th and completing 193 of 200 laps. He fell just one position shy of matching his career-best finish, set in 2018 at Kansas.

Chad Finchum, in addition to helping practice the #66, was the entered driver of the #13 Amana Heating & Air Conditioning / Smithbilt Homes Toyota Supra. After having some trouble getting the car into gear for Friday practice, the team made repairs and got the Knoxville, Tennessee native out on track for P2 and placed 33rd fastest. He picked up three-quarters of a second in qualifying and wound up 34th on the starting grid. The #13 competed through Stage 1, returning to the lead lap with the benefit of a wave-around for the beginning of Stage 2. Finchum brought the car to the garage with a vibration after 58 laps. He finished 32nd, matching his season-best result in the #13 from Watkins Glen.

►01/20/2020 - Texas Cup Results

Timmy Hill returned to the seat of the #66 MBM Motorsports Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series car at the Texas Motor Speedway for the first time since the Charlotte Roval in September. The Port Tobacco, Maryland did start two other premier series races in that span, racing the #77 Chevrolet for Spire Motorsports at both Kansas and Martinsville.

The #66 Tex Talk Toyota Camry stalled on pit lane during Practice 2 on Friday afternoon, and the MBM crew had to scramble to make repairs in order for Hill to get on track for a practice lap prior to qualifying. The team managed to get the #66 back on track with just minutes to spare. Single-car, single-lap qualifying was held late Saturday afternoon, and Hill picked up more than nine tenths of a second on his lap from Friday.

Like and Follow MBM Motorsports on Facebook @MBMMotorsports.

Rolling from P40 on the grid, Hill drove hard and remained in the fight to stay on the lead lap throughout Stage 1. The MBM team received two free pass awards over successive cautions, but the car stalled on pit road under one of those yellows. The MBM crew pushed the car up the pit road and eventually the car got refired, but Hill was unable to recover his lap before the race resumed green flag conditions. Engine problems persisted when the car dropped a cylinder in Stage 2, and the 26-year-old had no option but to drive the #66 into the garage area. With 156 laps complete, Hill recorded a 37th place finish, the best result at Texas the MBM Cup team has earned from its three starts there to date.

►01/20/2020 - Texas Xfinity Results

Chad Finchum overcame several obstacles to record his career-best non-restrictor plate track finish in the NASCAR Xfinity Series O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 at the Texas Motor Speedway.

Entering this race weekend, Finchum stood on the strength of two consecutive Top 25s at this track. Driving the #61 Amana Heating & Air Conditioning / Smithbilt Homes Toyota Supra, Finchum was the quickest MBM Motorsports machine in both Friday practice sessions. From his best practice speed, the Knoxville, Tennessee native found another seven tenths of a second in qualifying to lay down a lap of 29.618 seconds, again leading the MBM quartet. Rolling from P28 on the starting grid, the #61 team finished Stage 1 in 23rd.

Follow Chad Finchum on Twitter @ChadFinchum.

Stage 2 presented the team with multiple hurdles. First, a flat right front tire forced a green flag pit stop just after the race had resumed from the Stage 1 caution. A timely yellow flag arrived that granted the #61 the free pass and returning the team to the lead lap. Under that caution, Finchum reported that he had lost power steering. The crew diagnosed the issue and rectified it during additional pit stops. In Stage 3, the team took advantage of a wave-around opportunity and came down pit road for what should have been their final pit stop when a fuel head malfunction on the dump can prevented the team from getting fuel into the car. Thankfully another caution came out, allowing the team to pit and get enough gas to finish the race. They pitted again for two right side tires and on the ensuing restart, Finchum drove up inside the Top 15. The #61 was scored in the Top 15 for 32 laps of the race, including the finish. The 25-year-old got to the checkered flag in P15, his career-best finish on a non-plate track and second-best result overall, behind only his P14 at Daytona in 2018. It was the best MBM Xfinity finish since Austin Hill came home P9 at Indianapolis, and the result is also an MBM best-ever finish at Texas.

Joey Gase persevered through mechanical trouble on his #35 Donate Life Texas / TheGiftedLife.org Toyota Supra. After placing 33rd in both Friday practices, the team discovered a broken right rear shock. With that replaced and setting a qualifying lap in 37th place, Gase drove as hard as his equipment would allow in the race. An exhaust problem prevented the Cedar Rapids, Iowa native from a better result, but Gase got the car to the finish in P26, completing 193 of the 200 laps. It was the seventh time from 14 Xfinity starts at this track that Gase finished 26th or better.

Timmy Hill returned to the same car number as at Kansas but debuted new colors on the #13 Tex Talk / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Supra at Texas. Ryan Sieg's Practice 1 crash and the ensuing red flag prevented the #13 from completing a lap in the first session, but Hill got seven laps in during P2 and went 32nd quickest. His time in qualifying of 30.545 seconds placed him 35th for the start. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native made 35 laps before retiring the car with carburetor troubles. Hill was classified 35th.

Bobby Dale Earnhardt had a difficult race in his #66 Copeland Insurance Agency / Hyatt Life Sciences Toyota Camry. He completed 40 practice laps between the two Friday sessions, re-acclimating himself to the circuit after competing in this event in 2018. His qualifying lap was his fastest of the weekend to that point, with the time of 30.266 seconds placing him 33rd in the starting lineup. Trouble struck in Stage 1, however. Entering Turn 1, #9 Noah Gragson was in the process of lap-passing the #66 to the outside and Earnhardt lost control of the rear of his car, backing hard into the outside wall in Turn 2. The #66 was out of the race after 17 laps due to crash damage. Earnhardt finished 37th.

►10/28/2019 - Kansas Cup Results

Joey Gase drove the #66 Page Construction Toyota Camry at the Kansas Speedway. Following on from Talladega, this is the first time Gase has started consecutive premier series points races since May, when he ran the first Kansas race and the 600-miler in Charlotte on Memorial Day weekend. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native qualified at 162.700 MPH to earn P39 on the grid for his tenth Cup start of 2019, the most races Gase has run in the top NASCAR division in a single season. That distinction eclipsed his previous personal-best of nine starts in 2017.

Through the majority of Stage 1, Gase found himself battling with frequent MBM driver Timmy Hill, competing on Sunday in the #77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet. When Stage 2 got underway, Gase chased after the Rick Ware Racing cars before trouble struck again. Kyle Larson, driving the #42 for Chip Ganassi Racing, closed on the #66 Toyota as both cars ran the high line in Turns 3 and 4. Larson appeared to expect a lane to be left open up against the outside retaining wall for him to lap pass Gase, but the gap did not appear. Larson had to jump out of the throttle and in frustration turned Gase towards the infield grass at the exit of Turn 4.

With possible splitter damage, the team decided to go behind the wall to evaluate the viability of the car to continue in the event. However, NASCAR put the #66 on the Crash Clock after being involved in an on-track incident. By going to the garage, the car was automatically retired from the race under the Damaged Vehicle Policy. Gase wound up 38th with 107 laps completed in his sixth Cup start at this track.

►10/28/2019 - Kansas Xfinity Results

Kansas Speedway was the site of one of the most difficult Xfinity race weekends of 2019 for the MBM Motorsports four-car fleet.

Chad Finchum was 32nd fastest in Practice 1, but then brushed the outside retaining wall in Practice 2 and placed 36th quickest. The MBM team repaired the right side of the #61 Garrison Homes / First State Tile & Marble Toyota Supra in time for qualifying. Finchum lapped at 166.734 MPH, placing him P35 and in the starting lineup on a provisional. The Knoxville, Tennessee native kept out of trouble all afternoon, soldiering home in an underpowered car. Finchum outraced multiple JD Motorsports and B.J. McLeod Motorsports cars in the late race restarts to climb to P26 at the checkered flag. After the race, the MBM crew discovered a throttle issue that prevented full power delivery from the engine. Despite the issue, Finchum equaled his result from Richmond in September, those two events standing as his personal-best since Chicago in June.

Bobby Dale Earnhardt, the eldest grandchild of NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt, returned to the Xfinity Series as an MBM driver for the first time since Texas in November last season. The #66 Copeland Insurance Agency / Hyatt Life Sciences Toyota Camry went 26th fastest in Practice 1, but big trouble struck in Practice 2 when Earnhardt went for a spin in Turn 3 and backed into the outside retaining wall.

The MBM Motorsports went to work on this car as well, which required more extensive repairs than the #61. Earnhardt made a conservative lap in qualifying, as it was both his and the car's first on-track time since the incident. Fortunately the #66 received the final available owner points provisional, and Earnhardt would begin his race from P37. The 300-mile contest was all about logging laps and garnering experience for the 32-year-old. Earnhardt persevered in the face of a difficult weekend and took the checkered flag on track in P31. His fifth Xfinity race, though already his third at Kansas Speedway, resulted in the most laps (192) he has completed at one of the 1.5-mile intermediate style tracks to date.

Joey Gase far and away demonstrated the best speed by the MBM Motorsports team at Kansas, but a sequence of errors resulted in an extremely frustrating finish. The #35 Page Construction / PageKC.com Toyota Camry placed a more pedestrian 29th in Practice 1, but Gase then vaulted the #35 up to P20 in Practice 2, with a best time more than six tenths of a seconds faster. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native picked up a further eight tenths of a seconds in qualifying, grabbing P24 on the grid at 172.403 MPH and becoming the only MBM car to qualify for the race on time.

The 26-year-old fought a tight handling Toyota Camry for most of the race but made quick progress and even used a wave-around to get back on the lead lap in Stage 3. Gase was in the dead center of the fight for the Top 20 when a costly mistake was made on pit road. The #35 pit crew put the left side tires on the right side of the car and the right side tires on the left. This misstep forced multiple green-flag pit stops to identify and correct, removing Gase from contention for a Top 20.

Follow Joey Gase Racing on Twitter @JoeyGaseRacing.

Misfortune struck again inside the final ten laps of the race when #9 Noah Gragson spun in the front half of the field. Gase slowed down to avoid the accident and got run into from behind after the yellow flag had already been displayed. The #35 was turned into the outside wall, and the damage prevented Gase from finishing the race. He ended up P32 with 184 laps complete.

Timmy Hill slid back over to the #13 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry at Kansas. 39 Xfinity teams arrived to the track to compete for the 38 available starting spots. The Port Tobacco, Maryland driver was 30th in Practice 1 and 27th in Practice 2. Disaster struck in qualifying though, as the car lost power coming through Turn 4 on his hot lap. Hill crossed the line with a disappointing lap of 164.901 MPH. The #13 missed the Top 33 by about six tenths of a second and suffered its second DNQ of the season. Both races missed by this car this year have been on 1.5-intermediate style tracks. For Hill, it is his first Xfinity DNQ since Indianapolis in 2018 (qualifying cancelled due to precipitation) and his first on a 1.5-mile circuit since Kentucky in 2016.

►10/28/2019 - Talladega Cup Results

An off weekend for the NASCAR Xfinity Series allowed MBM Motorsports to focus its efforts on its Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series program for the final superspeedway race of the season at Talladega. Joey Gase took the controls of the #66 Fan Memories at Richmond Raceway Toyota Camry, attempting his third Cup race at one of the two major drafting tracks in 2019, missing only Talladega in April.

Follow Richmond Raceway on Twitter @RichmondRaceway.

The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native was 31st quickest in Practice 2. He qualified at 180.336 MPH, fast enough for the 36th starting spot. At the race start, Gase did impressive work to cling onto the lead draft for several laps. As the race on Sunday developed, it became clear impending precipitation could cut the race short or postpone the conclusion to Monday. With Stage 1 also drawing to a close, a caution flag was imminent, and Gase found himself in a battle with Austin Theriault of Rick Ware Racing for the free pass award. Theriault made the pass on lap 47, and the rain arrived just after the conclusion of Stage 1. The remainder of the race was postponed to Monday afternoon, and Gase would be trapped one lap down to the leaders at the race resumption.

Follow Joey Gase Racing on Twitter @JoeyGaseRacing.

The MBM Motorsports team persisted in their effort to get back on the lead lap, and a wave-around opportunity presented itself at the fifth yellow flag period of the race for debris. The #66 team caught a break with another yellow flag before they had to stop for fuel and coming to the green with 31 laps remaining, Gase knew he would be racing #47 Ryan Preece for the free pass award to finally get back on the lead lap if there was one more caution. Regrettably, both Preece and Gase would be caught up in the next accident, a crash with just 26 laps to go that eliminated several contenders. The #66 car sustained too much damage in the incident to continue, forcing a retirement after 161 laps. Gase finished 36th. While little consolation for a torn-up racecar, the 26-year-old did set four fastest laps during the race, and the #66 team showed vastly improved speed throughout the race weekend relative to their competitors from Daytona Speedweeks.

►10/06/2019 - Dover Xfinity Results

Joey Gase scored the best finish by the four-car MBM Motorsports NASCAR Xfinity Series operation at the Dover International Speedway, marking the second time the Cedar Rapids, Iowa native has achieved that distinction in the last three races.

The #35 Gift of Life Donor Program / Register at Donors1.org Toyota Camry set its best lap on Friday in Practice 1, placing 28th quickest. It took multiple runs through pre-qualifying technical inspection to get the car cleared to race. NASCAR made the team adjust the rear toe on the car, which compromised its handling in qualifying. Being way tight on his run left Gase in the 37th starting position. The #35 team capitalized on two free pass awards early in the race and advanced through the field in an event that featured heavy attrition among both the front-running and midfield competitors. By the checkered flag, the 26-year-old found himself in 22nd place, accomplishing his 14th Top 25 of the season. This event was the 15th Xfinity start at Dover for Gase, who now has five Top 25s at this track. Furthermore, the #35 team extends their Top 25 race results streak to seven of the last eight races.

Follow Joey Gase Racing on Twitter @JoeyGaseRacing.

After pulling double-duty at the Charlotte Roval, Timmy Hill focused just on his Xfinity ride at Dover, piloting the #66 OCR Gaz Bar Toyota Supra. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native showed great pace in Practice 1, claiming the 20th fastest speed in the session. Hill improved from his best practice time by more than four tenths of a second in qualifying. His lap of 23.945 seconds placed him 27th in the starting lineup. The 26-year-old completed 62 laps in the Drive Sober 200 before being struck with rear gear issues that forced a premature retirement from the event. The #66 finished 27th, and Hill recorded his ninth Xfinity Top 30 at Dover in his 16th start at this circuit.

MBM Motorsports team owner Carl Long returned to the driver seat at Dover, taking the wheel of the #13 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry. In the same "Dan Marino" colors he qualified into the field at New Hampshire Motor Speedway field earlier this year, Long went out in Practice 2 on Friday and laid down four laps, with a best time of 24.995 seconds, that put him 28th on the speed chart. The Roxboro, North Carolina native picked up more than seven tenths of a second in qualifying to reach a 24.279, earning him P32 on the grid and safe to the Top 33 by just over one tenth of a second. The #13 team completed 56 laps in the race before heading to the garage with transmission gremlins. The effort secured P28 in the finishing order for Long, who achieved his best Xfinity Dover finish in his 13th series start at this track. For the #13 team, 28th place matched the season opening Daytona finish by Max Tullman for best team race result of the year. Along with P30 for John Jackson at Fontana, the #13 is now up to three Top 30s in 2019.

Follow MBM Motorsports on Twitter @MBMMotorsports.

The real difficult part of the MBM weekend at Dover came for Chad Finchum. Piloting the #61 Garrison Homes / First State Tile & Marble Toyota Supra, the 25-year-old went 24th fastest in Practice 1 before stepping it up to an impressive 19th quickest in Practice 2. With the same company on the hood as the first Dover race earlier this season, Finchum qualified at 24.105 seconds, more than a half second pickup from his best lap on Friday. The effort placed him 30th on the starting grid, and the Knoxville, Tennessee native immediately started picking up positions at the race start. Finchum, already making his sixth Xfinity start at Dover, drove inside the Top 20 and spent much of the first stage fighting for that Top 20 spot. However, following the second restart of the race, the driver radioed in that he was down a cylinder in the motor. The #61 team had no option but to retire from the event, leaving Finchum in 31st and out with engine troubles after just 33 laps.

After 15 consecutive weeks of racing, the NASCAR Xfinity Series finally has one weekend off to regroup before the tour travels to Kansas Speedway for the Kansas Lottery 300 on October 19th.

►10/05/2019 - Charlotte Roval Cup Results

Timmy Hill competed in his first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series points race since Kansas back in May, making his second consecutive premier series attempt at the Charlotte Roval. The Port Tobacco, Maryland driver got on track for a few laps in the lone Friday practice prior to qualifying but did not set a representative lap time. Hill posted three completed circuits during the group qualifying session, with a best time of 1:25.315 seconds. His speed bested two of the three Rick Ware Racing entries and earned P33 on the grid for the final road course event of the NASCAR season. That starting spot is a team-best for the MBM Motorsports Cup program in 2019 points races and best overall since a 27th place start at Pocono in July of 2018.

Early in the 109-lap race, the #66 Duracap Asphalt Toyota Camry broke a sway bar heim joint. The mechanical problem in Stage 1 resulted in the ride height of the car dropping too low, but in the fight to stay on the lead lap, the MBM crew did not have sufficient time to repair the root problem on a regular pit stop. Instead, the crew made other adjustments, enabling the car enough clearance to continue to run competitively. Hill earned the free pass award twice during the event, including on the penultimate caution, which returned him to the lead lap battle for the final dash to the checkered flag. The 26-year-old dodged the carnage in the late laps and rose to P30 at the finish, achieving his 12th career Cup Top 30 in his 88th start. The result is the first Top 30 for the MBM Cup team in a points race since the Bristol Night Race in August 2018. The #66 also extends its streak of running at the finish in Cup points events to six, dating back to Richmond in April.

Finishing on the lead Lap at the Charlotte Roval is a significant result for both team and driver. For MBM, it is the second lead lap finish in a Cup points event in team history, with the one prior result coming at Indianapolis in 2017, and first on a road course. Hill was also driving the #66 MBM car on that day in what remains his best Cup finish to date (P14). Hill had only finished on the lead lap in the premier series three times prior to Sunday, having scored both of his first two at Kansas driving the #32 Ford for Frank Stoddard.

►10/05/2019 - Charlotte Roval Xfinity Results

MBM Motorsports picked up their first Top 20 and first two Top 25s at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval, as well as the third double or better lead lap team result in the last six races (previously Road America and Indianapolis).

The #66 LeithCars.com Toyota Supra led the MBM quartet at the finish. Pulling Cup/Xfinity driving double-duty for the first time since Bristol in April, Timmy Hill welcomed the Leith Cars decals to his Xfinity car for the third time in 2019, having also been onboard for the Charlotte Oval and Pocono events. Hill placed in the Top 25 fastest drivers in both Friday practice sessions but improved from his best Friday time by nearly one full second in qualifying. His lap of 1:25.841 seconds earned P21 in the starting lineup, a best for the #66 car since Tommy Joe Martins reached P18 at Mid-Ohio. In fact, the #66 team qualified in the Top 25 in all four Xfinity road course events this season.

In taking the green flag on Saturday, Timmy Hill, at just 26-years-old, began his 300th NASCAR national touring series race. He finished Stage 1 in 26th, before his MBM crew picked him up four positions in the pit stop cycle. Hill advanced up to 20th by the finish of Stage 2 and would fight for position around that Top 20 mark for the remainder of the race. Coming to the final restart, the #66 team found themselves in 21st position. Entering the last lap, Hill had re-entered the Top 20, and when he came to the checkered flag, Hill had elevated the Leith Cars machine up to 18th. It was the eighth Top 20 of 2019 for the #66 car. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native recorded his seventh Top 20 of the season and has been running at the finish of his last four Xfinity Series starts.

Joey Gase also pulled a strong race result out of the weekend in his #35 Agri Supply Toyota Camry. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native placed 27th in Practice 2 on Friday before qualifying at a time of 1:28.595 seconds, his best lap of the weekend to that point by 1.3 seconds. The effort netted him the 33rd starting position, the final driver to make the race on his qualifying performance. Gase stayed on the lead lap throughout the day and much like his drive at Road America earlier this season, drove forward through the field in the final laps. At the conclusion of Stage 2, the #35 was up to P29, but a strong pit stop for the team advanced Gase up to 25th for the restart to begin Stage 3. The 26-year-old kept his Toyota clean and after taking the final restart of the race from P23, gained two more spots, including one on the last lap, to earn P21 at the finish. Gase now has six Top 25s in the last seven Xfinity races, and he and the #35 team have now reached 13 Top 25s on the season to date. The result is a two-position improvement for the driver over his first Charlotte Roval experience one year ago. It is also the fourth lead lap finish of the season for Gase, including an impressive active streak of three lead laps in the last six Xfinity events.

A weekend which promised so much for Tommy Joe Martins ended in disappointment. The car and driver of the #61 Diamond Gusset Jeans Toyota Supra practiced inside the Top 25 in both Friday sessions before producing an incredible qualifying performance on Saturday. With a time of 1:25.426 seconds that featured a strong sector in the Charlotte infield, Martins vaulted himself up to the 18th starting spot, making the Top 20 by a handsome margin of more than four tenths of a second. That performance equaled his series career-best start and gave him his fourth-career Top 20 start (three times in MBM equipment). The run also extended the qualifying streak for the #61 team, who have now qualified Top 20 in the last four consecutive races, the longest such streak by any single MBM car in team history.

The Como, Mississippi driver had a brilliant start. By the first caution flag, Martins had soared to 11th place, and he took the ensuing restart from inside the Top 10. The #61 competed inside the Top 15 for 15 straight laps, more than one-fifth of the full race distance. But then a major mechanical component of the car failed, specifically the left front A frame, that forced Martins to the garage. The car was formally retired with suspension issues and ended up 35th in the final rundown, though in no way reflective of the awesome pace Martins demonstrated in the beginning of the race.

Back in the #13 MBM Motorsports Toyota Camry as the Xfinity Series contested the fourth and final road course event of the season, Chad Finchum made three laps on track in Practice 2 before heading into qualifying. The Knoxville, Tennessee native placed 37th on the starting grid. Finchum started his 65th Xfinity race on Saturday, completing Stage 1 in 33rd after overtaking Vinnie Miller driving the #5 for B.J. McLeod. Finchum took the wave-around to get back on the lead lap, but early in Stage 2 had to retire the car with brake trouble. The #13 finished 36th with 26 laps complete.

►09/25/2019 - Richmond Xfinity Results

The NASCAR Xfinity Series contested a one-day show at Richmond Raceway last Friday, which culminated in the running of the Go Bowling 250.

Joey Gase achieved the highest finishing position of the four MBM Motorsports team cars this week. After practicing 31st fastest Friday morning in the lone on-track session prior to qualifying, Gase put in a 23.863 second time trial lap, earning him P30 on the starting grid. Making his 14th Xfinity start at this track, the Cedar Rapids, Iowa native worked his way forward at the drop of the green flag.

Near the conclusion of Stage 1, Tyler Matthews, driving the #74 car for Mike Harmon, cut a tire entering Turn 1 and brought out the yellow flag when he made contact with the outside retaining wall. The field came to the restart with less than 10 laps remaining in Stage 1. Several cars were in contention for the Free Pass award that would be given at the upcoming Stage break. Gase drove his #35 Donate Life Virginia Toyota Camry up past his immediate rivals and worked himself into that Lucky Dog spot, enabling him to rejoin the lead lap for Stage 2 and still receive pit service under the same caution period. The 26-year-old converted that good fortune into a 20th place finish in Stage 2, and despite a late pit stop to secure a loose lug nut, Gase clung on to finish in P20 at the checkered flag. The result is Gase's second Top 20 at Richmond and continues a streak of positive momentum, with now four Top 20 finishes in the last six Xfinity series races. The #35 team has now recorded six Top 20s in 2019.

Chad Finchum returned to the seat of the #61 MBM Motorsports Toyota Supra at Richmond and proved to be the quickest MBM car in qualifying. After practicing 30th fastest in the single session Friday morning, Finchum laid down an impressive 23.492 second lap on his qualifying run. The effort placed the Knoxville, Tennessee native 20th on the starting grid. Finchum achieved his personal-best Xfinity starting spot at Richmond, his second Top 25 qualifying run at this track (both in 2019), his fifth career Top 20 qualifying run, his seventh career Top 20 starting position (six in 2019), and his best start overall since Iowa in June. It is also the third consecutive Top 20 qualifying run for the #61 car in a stretch that began in Indianapolis and has been accomplished with three different drivers.

The #61 was at its most competitive state of the night in Stage 1, mixing it up inside and around the Top 20. Finchum took the wave-around at the Stage 1 caution to get back on the lead lap, but with a loose-handling car, he finished P26 in Stage 2 and could never get his track position back. In his fourth Xfinity start at Richmond, Finchum maintained position through to the end of the race and matched his personal-best finish at this track of 26th, completing 246 laps of the possible 250 laps. It is the first race since New Hampshire in July that Finchum has taken the checkered flag on track and is his best finishing position since placing 24th at Chicagoland in June.

Las Vegas, Nevada native Stan Mullis made his second consecutive Xfinity Series start, one week removed from his home track event at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Mullis piloted the #13 LasVegas.net Toyota Camry to the 37th place starting spot in qualifying. The 42-year-old started his sixth Xfinity race of 2019 but first at Richmond. The #13 team has now qualified for 12 consecutive races and 26 of the 27 events to date in 2019. Mullis completed 18 laps in the Friday night feature before retiring with suspension troubles. He finished 37th. That result means the consecutive Top 35 finish streak for the #13 team comes to an end at eight, stretching from Iowa in July to Las Vegas in September.

MBM welcomed a new driver to the cockpit of the #66 at Richmond. Mike Marlar, the 2018 World of Outlaws Late Model Series Champion, stole headlines in the NASCAR national touring series world when he debuted earlier this year in the Gander Outdoors Truck Series driving for Reaume Brothers Racing at Eldora. After avoiding the Last Chance Qualifier and starting 23rd, Marlar marched his way forward all the way into the Top 10. He picked up an 8th place Stage 2 finish, garnering three stage points for the #33 truck team, and then proceeded to contest nearly the entire final stage inside the Top 5. Marlar came home 4th at the checkered flag for the best race result in Reaume Brothers Racing team history.

In his first race back at the national NASCAR level since that tremendous Eldora performance, the Winfield, Tennessee native made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut aboard the #66 Jones Oil Company / Tri-Rivers Enterprises Toyota Camry. After turning 64 laps in the lone practice session and ranking 36th fastest, Marlar stepped it up in qualifying to make the Top 33 by a scant 59 thousandths of a second. The 41-year-old rolled off the grid from the 31st starting spot, but unfortunately his night ended very prematurely. On the first lap of green flag racing, Marlar got into an accident on the backstretch, damaging the nose of the car severely enough that he was forced to the garage. Under the NASCAR Damaged Vehicle Policy, a car that goes to the garage with crash damage that has not already returned to the track and met minimum speed is automatically retired from the race. Crossing the start-finish line on pit road, Marlar is credited with one lap completed in his 38th place finish.

►09/16/2019 - Las Vegas Cup Results

Driving the #66 Nevada Donor Network / Fan Memories Toyota Camry, Joey Gase qualified for his eighth Cup points race of 2019. In the first Cup race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this season, Gase had an early exit due to engine failure just 10 laps into the event. Now in the first race of the premier series playoffs, the Cedar Rapids, Iowa native aimed to improve on that disappointment. Gase picked up more than one full second from his best practice time in qualifying, though the 168.298 MPH lap left him in P39 on the starting grid. The 26-year-old, now just one Cup start away from equaling a single season personal-best, fought a tight-handling car from the center of the corner off throughout the race. He soldiered home to P38 at the checkered flag, completing 249 laps, a vast improvement over the March race at this track. Gase has now been running at the finish of his last seven Cup points race starts, and the MBM #66 team is up to five consecutive on-track checkered flags as well.

►09/16/2019 - Las Vegas Xfinity Results

Tommy Joe Martins carried the MBM Motorsports Xfinity flag at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Piloting the #61 Diamond Gusset Jeans Toyota Camry, Martins went 28th fastest in Practice 1 and reached 23rd quickest in Practice 2. Through the qualifying draw, Martins was scheduled to be the final Xfinity car on track to qualify. The 32-year-old ran a brilliant lap in excess of 175 MPH, picking up more than 1.3 seconds from his best lap in either Friday session. Martins had earned the 18th starting position, matching his career-best set earlier this year in an MBM car at Mid-Ohio. P18 is an outright personal-best oval-track qualifying for Martins, who also recorded just his third Top 20 start in his 55th Xfinity race. The run also gives the #61 team back-to-back Top 20 qualifying efforts.

Follow Tommy Joe Martins on Twitter @TommyJoeMartins.

The race nearly turned disastrous in Stage 3 when Martins was racing with #07 Ray Black, Jr. of SS-Green Light Racing for the 20th position. Entering Turn 3, Martins had the inside line but got aero-loose and the back of the car stepped out. The #61 slid through the corner, down off the banking in Turn 4, and Martins successfully kept the car out of the tire barrier guarding the inside retaining wall. The spin took the team out of contention for a Top 20 finish, but Martins got the car to the checkered flag on track. The disqualification of one rival car elevated the #61 into P25 in the final classification, giving Martins his second Xfinity Top 25 at this track in three starts and his ninth Top 25 of the season. The Como, Mississippi native now has back-to-back Top 25s for the third time in 2019.

Joey Gase pulled double-duty for MBM Motorsports for the second time in three race weekends. On the Xfinity side, Gase drove the #35 Nevada Donor Network / LasVegas.net Toyota Camry to 28th in Practice 2 and qualified six tenths of a second better than his best practice time. The lap wound up 32nd fastest. In his tenth Xfinity race at Las Vegas, the Cedar Rapids, Iowa native ran inside the Top 30 but retired in the final laps of the race. With 187 of 200 circuits complete, Gase pulled off with a vibration and ended up P29 in the final rundown. The result is his sixth Xfinity Top 30 at this track.

Chad Finchum returned to the seat of the #66 The Apple Barn Toyota Supra this week. After running in the Top 30 in Practice 1 speeds, the Knoxville, Tennessee native made the Top 33 in qualifying, right on the number, two tenths of a second safe to the 34th place car. Early in the race, Finchum radioed to his crew that something had broken, and the handling of the car grew worse throughout Stage 1. The #66 team confirmed a suspension failure early in Stage 2, forcing the 24-year-old to the garage prematurely. Finchum ended up 34th in his 63rd career start and fourth at Las Vegas.

Hometown driver Stan Mullis returned to the MBM team for his third Xfinity start at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and ninth overall in the series. The driver of the #13 LasVegas.net Toyota Camry went 34th quickest in Practice 2 and qualified 35th, a personal-best in NASCAR for the Las Vegas, Nevada native. Mullis ran 22 laps in the race before heading to the garage with carburetor troubles and taking 35th in the final classification. Mullis has accumulated seven Top 35s in the series, and the #13 team now has eight consecutive Top 35 results.

►09/14/2019 - Indianapolis Xfinity Results

Entering the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) in 2019, MBM Motorsports had never qualified more than two cars in the Xfinity Series at this track in a single event. The team had just one previous Top 30 here, when Chad Finchum earned P21 in the Monday rain-postponed event one year ago. All of that changed this season, as the MBM organization put in their strongest run at IMS to date in the Indiana 250.

The MBM collaboration with Hattori Racing Enterprises (HRE), after debuting at the Bristol Motor Speedway in August, resumed in Indianapolis as the second Xfinity race for this alliance. The MBM/HRE group also made the investment to acquire a Joe Gibbs Racing engine lease for the Brickyard event. Full-time HRE Gander Outdoors Truck Series driver Austin Hill got the opportunity to pilot the #61 AISIN Group Toyota Supra. The Winston, Georgia native is now a veteran of 69 Truck Series starts. He competed primarily in his own family-maintained equipment through 2017 before joining Young's Motorsports full-time in 2018. In 2019, he joined the defending series champion HRE #16 team and has had a personal-best season in almost every major statistical category, including earning his first two career national touring series victories at Daytona and Michigan. The 25-year-old has more poles, Top 5s, Top 10s, laps led, and lead lap finishes this season than he has had in any previous Truck campaign, and both his average start and average finish for this season are improved by multiple positions over his current personal bests.

Hill showed decent pace in all of the pre-race on-track sessions, leading the four-car MBM Motorsports effort in both practice sessions and qualifying. The 25-year-old finished both practices inside the Top 20 fastest cars and laid down a 163.242 MPH average lap speed in qualifying, good enough for P17 on the starting grid as Hill secured his first Xfinity Series race start. The #61 team stayed on the lead lap throughout the 100-lap, 250-mile event. Hill took advantage of the final restart and passed his way into the Top 10, reaching P9 at the checkered flag. Following on from Timmy Hill's brilliant 7th place run at Bristol, the MBM #61 has scored two Top 10s in the last four races, the first time any MBM car has achieved that feat in team history.

Joey Gase practiced the #35 MBM Motorsports Toyota Camry in the Top 25 fastest cars in both Friday sessions. His 160.660 MPH average speed in qualifying earned a starting position of P29 for the Indiana 250. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native earned just his second Top 30 starting spot at Indy in his sixth start at this circuit with both in the last two years. Gase also ran on the lead lap throughout the race and earned his second consecutive Indianapolis lead lap, Top 20 Xfinity finish. Crossing the line to take P18, the #35 team has scored lead laps in two of the last three races, as well as four consecutive Top 25 finishes and Top 20s in three of the last four.

Tommy Joe Martins returned to the #66 Diamond Gusset Jeans Toyota Camry at Indianapolis, after running the #13 car at Darlington the previous week. Martins was 29th quick in Practice 1, and the Como, Mississippi native improved up to 26th in the second session. A lap of 160.697 MPH in qualifying on Saturday earned Martins the 28th starting position, his second consecutive Top 30 starting spot at Indy. Martins took the final restart inside the Top 15 and looked poised for a really excellent result, but the 32-year-old lost his momentum and consequently got shuffled backwards. He brought the car home clean in P24 on the lead lap, making the three lead lap finishes for the #66 team in its last four starts. For the events in which they have qualified, the #66 has four consecutive Top 25 results. Martins picked up his eighth Xfinity Top 25 of 2019.

After racing the #61 at Darlington, Chad Finchum returned to the #13 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry for the Brickyard. Finchum made 10 laps in the second of two Friday practices, placing 31st fastest. He qualified at 158.000 MPH, earning him P36 for the race start, matching his personal-best at Indianapolis. The Knoxville, Tennessee driver completed all of Stage 1 but had to retire after 41 laps due to transmission woes. Finchum finished 33rd, extending the streak to seven consecutive Top 35 results for the #13 team.

►09/03/2019 - Darlington Cup Post-Race Report

For the first time since Memorial Day weekend, MBM Motorsports competed with five cars on a NASCAR race weekend, including the return of the #66 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series team.

Joey Gase had the opportunity to run double-duty between the Cup and Xfinity Series for the first time since Daytona, when he joined the Rick Ware Racing #53 team. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native made 16 laps in Cup Practice 2, placing the #66 Page Construction Toyota Camry 34th fastest. In qualifying, Gase improved his time by nearly one full second, but his speed of 159.207 MPH left him 39th on the grid. In taking the green flag, the 26-year-old started his seventh premier series race in 2019, just two starts away from matching his career-best (2017). The race was MBM's third Cup event at Darlington, and Gase reached the checkered flag on track to record the fourth-consecutive points race on-track finish for the #66 team. His P34 is a personal-best Cup finish at Darlington.

►09/03/2019 - Darlington Xfinity Post-Race Report

The four-car MBM Motorsports Xfinity program competed in the Sport Clips Haircuts VFW 200 on Saturday and brought home multiple Top 25 finishes for the third consecutive event: Bristol, Road America, and now Darlington. This is the first such multi-Top 25 streak in team history, through 362 total team starts since entering the Xfinity Series with two full-time cars in 2015.

Timmy Hill led the MBM charge on Saturday in the race. After placing 31st in Practice 2 on Friday, Hill qualified the #66 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry in P27 at 162.206 MPH. The Port Tobacco, Maryland driver started his sixth Darlington Xfinity race and completed all the laps bar one. Hill came home P23 for his third Xfinity Top 25 at this track and his eighth Top 25 of the season. The result was the 11th Top 25 of 2019 for the #66 team.

Joey Gase pulled double-duty at Darlington, but the primary media attention of his throwback weekend certainly focused on his Xfinity ride. The #35 Agri Supply / Carolina Cooker Hot Sauce Toyota Camry paint scheme was unveiled on FOX Sports 1’s NASCAR Race Hub on August 20th and generated lots of positive fan response. The car paid tribute to the 1998 Cup Series #35 Tabasco Hot Sauce car driver by Todd Bodine early in that season.

Gase was 28th quickest in Practice 1 on Friday and put down the last qualifying lap of the four MBM cars. His speed of 162.576 MPH earned him P26 on the grid in his sixth Darlington Xfinity start. The 26-year-old overcame a corded left front tire in his first stint to finish P25, his third Top 25 at this track. The #35 team recorded their tenth Top 25 of 2019 and are now on a streak of three-consecutive Top 25 finishes.

Chad Finchum made his 61st career Xfinity Series start on Saturday but only his second at Darlington. The Knoxville, Tennessee native placed a strong P23 in Practice 1, before qualifying the #61 The Apple Barn / Great Southern Homes Toyota Supra in P31 at 158.351 MPH. Finchum went forward at the drop of the green flag and ran inside the Top 25 for the majority of the race. He finished Stage 1 in P22 and Stage 2 in P19, but the #61 made fairly significant contact with the outside retaining wall near the end of Stage 2, acquiring one of those famous “Darlington Stripes.” The car held out through most of Stage 3, but eventually a mechanical failure in the right front forced the team to the garage inside the final 15 laps of the race. Finchum finished 30th, a personal-best at Darlington. It is his first Top 30 finish since July 20th at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Tommy Joe Martins got called in to pilot the #13 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry for the Darlington Throwback weekend. He practiced 33rd fastest in the second Friday session, and picked up more than 1.7 seconds in qualifying to reach a lap speed of 158.076 MPH, earning him the 32nd starting spot. Martins wound up three tenths of a second safe to the Top 33, confirming all four MBM cars made the field on speed for the first time this season. In his 53rd Xfinity start overall and fourth at Darlington, Martins fought a tight-handling car. The Como, Mississippi driver retired after 61 laps and ended up 35th in the final rundown. The #13 has finished Top 35 in the last six consecutive races.

►08/30/2019 - Road America Xfinity Results

Joey Gase recorded the best finish for MBM Motorsports at Road America in team history last Saturday in the CTECH Manufacturing 180. Driving the #35 Allstate Kimberly, WI Toyota Camry, Gase qualified 31st for his 230th NASCAR Xfinity Series race and sixth in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native moved forward through the whole event. He took the green-and-white checkered flag to end Stage 1 in P27, and by the end of Stage 2, he had improved up to 23rd. The 26-year-old made great use of the final restart and elevated the #35 team up to P19 at the finish. That result for Gase matches his personal-best at this track (also 19th in 2018) and is his fourth Top 20 of 2019. Gase has his first back-to-back Top 20s of the season, as well as three in the last five races.

The conclusion of the race proved to be much more frustrating for the pilot of the #66 Diamond Gusset Jeans Toyota Supra. Tommy Joe Martins returned to the #66 ride after driving the #13 at Bristol. The Como, Mississippi native set Top 20 practice times in both Friday sessions, including P18 in Practice 2. Martins qualified at a 2:17.023 second lap, bettering his best Friday lap by more than nine tenths, but overshooting the Turn 5 braking zone on his lap left a little bit of time on the table. Despite the mistake, Martins still earned P23 on the grid, a personal-best at this track and his 17th career Top 25 Xfinity starting spot. The first two stages of the race went quite well, as the #66 recorded top dozen finishes in both: P11 in Stage 1 and P12 in Stage 2. Martins appeared set to compete for at least a Top 15 finish approaching the final restart of the race, but a loose wheel meant the 32-year-old had no option but to bring the car onto pit road as the rest of the field took the green flag. The crew tightened the wheel and got Martins back out to collect P25 at the checkered flag. For Martins, this finish is his 20th career Xfinity Top 25 through 52 series starts. It is already his second lead lap finish with MBM and the third lead lap for the #66 team in 2019. Nonetheless, the loose wheel was a heartbreaking problem to encounter in the final five laps of the race.

MBM welcomed a new driver behind the wheel at Road America. Seeking his NASCAR national touring series debut at age 66, Dick Karth of Grafton, Wisconsin got to drive the #61 Midwestern Council / Dick Trickle Memorial Project Toyota Camry at his home track of Road America. Karth did start the 2017 ARCA Racing Series event here, finishing 21st in a 28-car field. Entering qualifying, Karth only had four practice laps from Friday as experience in an Xfinity car. He qualified 38th and wound up as the first car off the lead lap at the conclusion of Stage 1, earning the free pass award. At this point, Karth recognized the heat inside the car was taking a toll on his performance, and he radioed to the team that a driver change would be needed. After overtaking the pace car and regaining his lost lap, Karth pitted, and veteran MBM driver Timmy Hill clambered into the cockpit to complete the race distance. With only a few cautions to follow, the team got trapped off the lead lap and could not recover, but Hill got the car to the checkered flag on track, completing 43 of 45 laps and finishing 30th. Because Karth started the race, NASCAR statistics will credit Karth with the 30th place result and seven points in his Xfinity debut.

Like the two previous road course races on the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity schedule, Chad Finchum changed over to drive the #13 car at Road America. Finchum practiced 31st quickest in the second session on Friday before qualifying P35, a one position improvement over his starting spot at this track in 2018. Making his 60th career Xfinity start, the Knoxville, Tennessee driver finished Stage 1 in 32nd place before having to retire with transmission woes in Stage 2. Finchum completed 15 laps in the #13 Allstate Kimberly, WI Toyota Camry and finished 35th.

The Kimberly, WI Allstate logos were on the hood in time for qualifying.

MBM Motorsports has now fielded 13 cars at Road America over the last five seasons, piloted by an incredible 11 different drivers. In that span, the team has now produced five lead lap finishes and four Top 25s.

Next up for the top two national touring series of NASCAR comes Darlington Raceway, the historic 1.366-mile oval that plays host to the annual throwback weekend cherished by fans and competitors alike. In addition to all four full-time Xfinity cars, MBM will field a Monster Energy Cup car for the first time since the Coca-Cola 600 on Memorial Day weekend.

►08/18/2019 - Bristol Xfinity Results

MBM Motorsports had a night to remember at the 0.533-mile Bristol Motor Speedway, as Timmy Hill earned his career-best finish in the NASCAR Xfinity Series on a non-superspeedway track and delivered the team just their second Top 10 in organization history.

A new partnership was forged entering Bristol between MBM and Hattori Racing Enterprises (HRE). Shige Hattori, former INDYCAR and NASCAR driver turned Gander Outdoors Truck Series championship winning team owner in 2018, restarted his Xfinity team at the Daytona July race this season, but a mechanical issue prevented the team from completing a lap in qualifying and resulted in a DNQ. With the backing of Toyota Tsusho, Hattori approached MBM team owner Carl Long about forming an alliance for the Bristol Night Race. MBM agreed to renumber the #42 team to #61, the same number used by HRE in their Daytona attempt and the reverse of their championship-winning truck number. NASCAR approved the number change and transferred the owner points from the former #42 to the new #61.

With the backing of HRE and ability to purchase new tires for an MBM chassis, Timmy Hill demonstrated speed through the whole weekend in his #61 Toyota Tsusho Toyota Supra. He had Top 25 pace through both Thursday practice sessions, and despite a poor qualifying draw (8th car on track), Hill put up a 16.169 second lap on his run. It was fast enough for P2 at the time and held up for P21 – more than four tenths of second safe to the Top 33. Following on from a P20 in the April race at this track, the Port Tobacco, Maryland native registered his fourth Top 25 qualifying run at Bristol.

Hill went forward at the green flag and ran inside the Top 20 for nearly the entire race. The #61 team took a wave-around at the Stage 2 caution to get back on the lead lap and entered the Top 10 with just 20 laps remaining in the event. By the checkered flag, the Port Tobacco, Maryland driver had advanced all the way up to P7, the first car off the lead lap. Hill's impressive drive came in a milestone start, as while it was his 180th Xfinity start overall, it was also his 100th start for MBM Motorsports. The 26-year-old delivered his sixth Top 20 of 2019, his eighth career Top 15, his fourth career Top 10, and his first ever Top 10 on a non-superspeedway. Entering the Food City 300, Hill's best Xfinity finish on a non-superspeedway oval was 15th at Chicagoland in 2011, his debut season with Rick Ware Racing. The strong run also advanced Hill from 28th to 26th in the driver points championship.

The #61 team spent 158 laps, more than half race-distance inside the Top 15. This result was the second Xfinity Series Top 10 in MBM Motorsports team history and fifth Top 15; the four previous Top 15s were Mid-Ohio 2016 (Alon Day), Daytona February 2017 (Brandon Hightower), and Daytona July 2018 (Hill, Chad Finchum). The MBM #61 also earned the distinction of being the highest finishing Toyota at Bristol, besting #19 Brandon Jones of Joe Gibbs Racing (P11) for those honors.

While admittedly less spectacular, Joey Gase also had a strong result in the #35 Cocopah Speedway Toyota Camry. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native practiced 26th and 31st quickest in the two Thursday sessions.

It must be noted that the largest entry list of the 2019 Xfinity Series season to date presented itself at Bristol. Entering qualifying, the pressure was ramped up enormously on the back half of the Xfinity garage, as teams scrambled to find the speed needed to make the show. Hill was the first of the four MBM cars on track in time trials, and reported his car was loose, even after the team had made adjustments from practice to tighten his car up. The other MBM crews received this message, but with the benefit of hindsight, over-adjusted their three remaining entries. Gase was the 15th driver on track for qualifying, and it was not until the 23rd car had run that the #35 team knew they would be racing in the Food City 300. Gase's lap of 16.555 placed him 32nd in the lineup, just 18 thousandths of a second safe to the Top 33.

Follow Joey Gase Racing on Twitter @JoeyGaseRacing.

With the stress of qualifying behind him, Gase settled in for the 300-lap race and like teammate Hill, started moving forward as soon as the race got underway. Despite being caught still exiting pit road on one of the restarts and losing an additional lap, Gase kept after it and by the finish had driven all the way up to P20, a big improvement over his P27 at this track in April for MBM. He now has three Top 20s and five Top 25s at Bristol in the Xfinity Series. This result is the third Top 20 for the #35 team in 2019, and they now have two consecutive Top 20s on oval tracks.

Tommy Joe Martins entered Bristol seeking his third Xfinity start as an MBM Motorsports driver and fourth series start at this track. To race, the #13 AAN Adjusters, Inc. / Diamond Gusset Jeans Toyota Camry had to make the Top 33 in qualifying. The car showed admirable pace in the two Thursday sessions; TJM led the MBM quartet in both rounds, practicing 23rd and 18th quickest. Martins was the 20th car on track in qualifying, and he locked the #13 team into the race on his first lap. He improved his time even further on lap 2, reaching a 16.324 second lap and securing P25 on the grid with a quarter of a second margin to those outside the Top 33. 25th is a personal best starting position for Martins at this track.

Follow Tommy Joe Martins on Twitter @TommyJoeMartins.

When he took the green flag on Friday night, Martins became the eighth driver to start an Xfinity race in the #13 car in 2019. Like his teammates, Martins showed strong race pace early in the night. Through a pit stop cycle, Martins took the restart to begin Stage 2 in earnest from the 10th position, and for a stretch of 19 laps, the #13 team competed inside the Top 15. The race started to unravel at the lap 83 caution in which Tyler Reddick spun while racing Justin Allgaier. Martins spun his Toyota in avoidance of another car, and during the spin, the car initially got stuck in fourth gear. The transmission deteriorated from that point forward, as the car kept jumping out of gear and eventually Martins had no option but to go to the garage. With 131 laps complete, Martins finished 31st. That result is the best for the #13 team since Kentucky, five races before, when John Jackson was also P31.

While three of the MBM cars made the field at Bristol, the fourth fell short. Chad Finchum, a native of Knoxville, Tennessee, is a K&N Pro Series East race winner at the Bristol Motor Speedway (2016) and has always called it his favorite track on the NASCAR schedule. With Timmy Hill in the #61, Finchum slid over to pilot car #66, The Apple Barn & Cider Mill / Smithbilt Homes Toyota Supra. The team placed Top 25 in both practices, including a 22nd fastest speed in Practice 2. As discussed above, Bristol featured a huge entry list of 42 cars and the indications from teammate Timmy Hill's run suggested the team needed to tighten the #66 up even more. Finchum was the 24th car on track to qualify and experienced a woefully tight car. His second lap was showing improved pace, but Finchum had a huge slide off Turn 4 to the detriment of his speed. The #66 was 34th at the conclusion of qualifying, an infuriating 8 thousandths of a second outside the Top 33. Finchum was left with his second career Xfinity DNQ (first at a short track) and the #66 team missed their first race since the season opener at Daytona in 2018. The #66 was the highest ranked team in owner point provisionals to miss the race at Bristol.

►08/14/2019 - Mid-Ohio Xfinity Results

Tommy Joe Martins led the charge for MBM Motorsports at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in 2019, putting in one of his best weekend-long performances in a NASCAR national touring series to date.

The Como, Mississippi driver took the #66 Diamond Gusset Jeans Toyota Supra out on track for 32 laps between the two Friday practices, with a fastest circuit of 1:28.207 seconds. In Saturday qualifying, Martins laid down an incredible lap nearly 2.2 seconds faster than his best practice time. His 1:26.036 earned P18 on the grid, a career-best Xfinity starting spot for Martins in his 50th series race (previous best: 20th at Phoenix, November 2018). The #66 team equaled their best grid position of the season (three P18 starts), as well as their 7th Top 20 and 11th Top 25 in qualifying in 2019.

All of that positive momentum transferred through to the race. Martins wrestled the #66 into 10th place by the conclusion of Stage 2, capturing the first stage point for the team since Daytona in July with Timmy Hill. Martins stayed on the lead lap all day and drove to a strong P18 finish, earning his sixth career lead lap result, his 9th Top 20, and a personal-best Xfinity road course finish. For the #66 team, they now have seven Top 20 finishes (between three different drivers) and two lead lap finishes to show from 2019.

Timmy Hill got the call-up to pilot the #42 MBM Motorsports Toyota Camry at Mid-Ohio, the fifth different driver in that ride this season. The Port Tobacco, Maryland driver entered with two previous Xfinity starts at this track but none since 2016. Hill put in 13 practice laps on Friday and went 23rd fastest in the second session. His qualifying lap of 1:26.984 seconds was a pickup of more than 1.2 seconds from his best Friday time and earned P25 on the grid for the driver's 10th Top 25 starting spot in 2019. Also noteworthy, the #42 has qualified in the Top 25 in three of the last four Xfinity Series events.

Hill stayed on the lead lap through the end of Stage 2, and the #42 team decided to stay out at the Stage 2 caution to get some improved track position. #36 Josh Williams of DGM Racing took over the race lead on the same strategy, and Hill moved into 2nd place, placing him on the front row for the restart to begin Stage 3 in earnest. Shortly after the restart though, electrical problems appeared inside the #42. Smoke started coming from the dashboard, which triggered a trip to the garage for repairs. The MBM team got Hill back on track to be running at the finish, and their effort was rewarded in the form of picking up a couple additional positions. Hill wound up 27th, a personal-best at Mid-Ohio, though not reflective of the ultimate pace the #42 had shown earlier in the race.

Chad Finchum drove the yellow #13 MBM Motorsports Toyota Camry for the second time after debuting the new colors at Watkins Glen. He placed 31st fastest in Practice 2 on Friday and picked up a tenth on his qualifying lap, which left him in the 34th starting spot, a personal-best at this track. The 24-year-old completed 13 racing laps before brake trouble arose, forcing the team to go to the garage. Finchum finished 35th.

Follow Chad Finchum on Twitter @ChadFinchum.

Mechanical woes struck Joey Gase for the second-consecutive Xfinity road course race. Gase took the #35 Lifeline of Ohio / Donate Life Toyota Camry out for 19 laps on Friday, running 29th quickest in Practice 2. He stepped it up a full second in qualifying to record a lap of 1:28.585 seconds, good enough for a P30 starting spot and his second Top 30 qualifying run at this track. Still in Stage 1 of the race, the #35 started smoking, and the MBM crew found the oil pump had cracked and was rapidly losing fluid. The team had to retire the car after 8 laps and was classified 36th.

The MBM Motorsports team and the rest of the NASCAR Xfinity Series now head to the high banks of Bristol Motor Speedway, where a large 42 car preliminary entry list has been released. Stay tuned for forthcoming details on a number change by the #42 team beginning this weekend.

►08/08/2019 - Watkins Glen Xfinity Results

Two drivers joined MBM Motorsports for the first time in the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series to compete at Watkins Glen International, a 2.45-mile natural terrain road course in the Finger Lakes region of New York.

Stanton Barrett, a Hollywood stuntman by trade, is a veteran of 24 starts in NASCAR's premier series, more than 200 Xfinity Series races, and even contested several events in the 2009 IndyCar Series. In recent years, his infrequent starts in NASCAR have primarily come on road courses, including three such starts in Xfinity in 2016 and a start in the debut of the Cup cars on the Charlotte Roval in 2018. Barrett ran the 2016 Zippo 200 at the Glen for MBM and achieved the #13 team's best finish and only Top 20 of the season, placing 19th.

Fast forward to 2019, and Barrett returned to MBM for his first Xfinity start since Road America 2016. Driving the #42 Horseheads Brewing Company Toyota Camry, Barrett ran 17 laps in the second Friday practice session and went 27th quickest at a 1:17.204 second lap. In qualifying, he gained nearly three-quarters of a second and wound up 31st on the grid for his fourth consecutive start inside the Top 33 that guarantees a spot in the starting lineup on time. Barrett had a clean race and got himself in position for the free pass award prior to the race's seventh and final caution flag. The #42 got back on the lead lap and despite a late race suspension failure, kept the car on the road and took the checkered flag in 24th. A post-race disqualification to a competitor lifted Barrett to 23rd in the final results, his third Top 25 in his last four Xfinity starts overall and also his third consecutive Top 25 at this track (2014, 2016, 2019). For MBM, Barrett earned the #42 team their second lead lap finish of 2019, following on from Talladega where Max Tullman drove to a lead lap Top 20 result.

The other new driver to MBM at Watkins Glen revealed his move to the team from B.J. McLeod Motorsports at New Hampshire two weeks ago. Tommy Joe Martins, a journeyman NASCAR driver and former team owner at both the Xfinity and Gander Outdoors Truck Series levels, has impressed in McLeod's equipment since he joined their Xfinity operation in 2017. In 2019, he ran nine events in the #99 Toyota before transitioning to MBM, capturing three Top 20s and five Top 25s in those starts.

Martins took the #66 Diamond Gusset Jeans Toyota Supra out for a couple of laps in Practice 1 in a shakedown run, and then put up 23 laps in Practice 2, going 22nd quickest at a 1:15.350 second lap. He qualified more than eight tenths of a second faster at 1:14.519 seconds and took the 22nd starting position. That marked the 10th Top 25 qualifying run for the #66 team this season and a personal-best for Martins at this circuit. The #66 showed decent pace in the first half of the race but broke an A frame in the left front in Stage 3 entering Turn 1. Martins spun and narrowly avoided both the guardrail on driver's left and former employer McLeod, driving the #15 Chevrolet for JD Motorsports, on the inside of the racetrack. Martins had to retire the car but can be optimistic with the pace the #66 showed over the course of the weekend. Ultimately, the #66 completed 65 laps and finished 28th. Martins now owns a streak of eight consecutive Top 30 finishes.

With Barrett in the #42, Chad Finchum took over the driving duties of the #13 MBM Motorsports Toyota Camry at the Glen. The Knoxville, Tennessee native was 31st fastest in Practice 2 and qualified at a time of 1:17.805 seconds, which placed him 35th on the starting grid. Finchum also started 35th in this race one year ago, but his qualifying time improved more than six tenths of second year-over-year. Finchum drove the #13 car, now carrying a bright yellow scheme to both match the chassis color and to throwback to an MBM livery from the 2014 and 2015 seasons, for 30 laps in the race before retiring with brake trouble. He finished 32nd, the best result for the #13 team in the last three races.

Joey Gase qualified for his seventh Xfinity start at Watkins Glen this year driving the #35 MBM Motorsports Toyota Camry. The #35 team placed 31st and 30th in the two Friday practices and qualified 36th at a time of 1:18.842 seconds, which marked a personal-best starting spot at this track for Gase. Reliability troubles struck early in the race for the Cedar Rapids, Iowa native. With 9 laps completed, the clutch and transmission went out on the #35 car down the frontstretch, and Gase had no choice but to pull off-track at the exit of Turn 1, which triggered the first caution flag of the race. Gase finished 34th, the car unable to run any further.

The Xfinity Series now moves to the 2.26-mile Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for another natural-terrain road course race, and MBM Motorsports will welcome back the same four car and driver lineup the team employed at Watkins Glen. In nine starts at Mid-Ohio, MBM has scored five lead lap finishes (two in both of the last two years) and three Top 20s, including an impressive 13th place by Alon Day in 2016.

►07/29/2019 - Iowa Xfinity Results

While the Monster Energy Cup Series and Gander Outdoors Truck Series teams headed to Pocono, the NASCAR Xfinity Series competed for the second time in 2019 at the 7/8-mile Iowa Speedway.

Joey Gase, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, qualified for his 17th series start at his home track in the #35 Iowa Donor Network / Fan Memories Toyota Camry. He picked up pace throughout the weekend, placing 32nd in Practice 1 at a time of 25.427 seconds and 26th in Practice 2 at 25.007 seconds. He ran his fastest lap of the weekend in qualifying at 24.576 seconds to earn 26th on the grid, his best Xfinity starting spot since Pocono on June 1st, when he started 19th. The 26-year-old drove through a tight-handling car in the center of the corners to continue advancing up the running order as the race wore on. Gase took the checkered flag in 19th, scoring his best finish since the season opener at Daytona (16th) and second Top 20 of the season. The result marks his third consecutive season with a Top 20 at Iowa and fourth overall at this track in the Xfinity Series.

Joey Gase surpassed 35,000 Xfinity Series racing laps at Iowa.

Stan Mullis returned to MBM Motorsports for his eighth career Xfinity Series race and already fifth at Iowa. At the site of his series debut in 2017, Mullis qualified for his fourth Xfinity Series race of 2019, marking the most starts he has made in a single season to date. The #66 LasVegas.net Toyota Camry was 35th fastest in Practice 1 but was able to improve to 30th quickest in Practice 2. Mullis qualified 36th on speed and took a provisional. The Las Vegas, Nevada native stayed out of trouble all race long and took advantage of the high attrition rate to take the checkered flag in 23rd, easily his best career finish to date and first Xfinity Top 25. Mullis also posted the best finish for the #66 team since Daytona (three races prior) and recorded the eighth Top 25 for the #66 in 2019.

Chad Finchum entered Iowa seeking his fourth Xfinity start at this track. The #42 DEEI / Heartland Tire & Auto Center Toyota Supra showed well in the Friday sessions, placing a strong 17th in Practice 1 with a 24.766 second lap, less than 0.47 seconds off P1. Finchum practiced 23rd quick in Practice 2 and then put up his best lap of the weekend in qualifying at 24.448 seconds, placing him 22nd on the grid for the start. The Knoxville, Tennessee native has now qualified in the Top 22 in three of the last six races (Iowa I, New Hampshire, Iowa II). Finchum ran in the Top 25 for most all of Stage 1 and 2 but started losing his brakes towards the end of Stage 2. He drove onto pit road after completing 113 laps and the crew found the left rear brake caliper had broken, ending the day for the #42 team. Finchum finished 32nd.

Follow Chad Finchum on Twitter @ChadFinchum.

With 39 cars entered for 38 available starting positions at Iowa, Timmy Hill slid over to drive the #13 MBM Motorsports Toyota Supra, a chassis last used as the #66 at Kentucky. Hill was 28th quick in Practice 1 and 31st in Practice 2, running best laps within a tenth of a second between the two sessions. The Port Tobacco, Maryland driver went nearly half a second faster in qualifying, picking up to a 24.752 second lap and earning 31st on the grid, more than two tenths of a second safe to the Top 33. Hill ran 80 laps in the race before pulling off with suspension issues. He finished 35th.

The Xfinity Series next moves to Watkins Glen International in New York for the first road course race of the season. MBM will welcome multiple new drivers to their Xfinity seats for the Zippo 200 at the Glen, to be run Saturday, August 3rd.

►07/22/2019 - New Hampshire Xfinity Results

The 18th race of the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series season took place at the 1.058-mile New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH. MBM Motorsports showcased multiple strong qualifying performances by team cars on Saturday morning, but the team had to overcome several mechanical difficulties in the 200-lap race.

Knoxville, Tennessee driver Chad Finchum led the MBM quartet through all four on track sessions at Loudon (two practices, qualifying, and race). In Practice 1 on Friday, Finchum was 26th fastest, and he picked up nearly three tenths of a second in Practice 2 to go 22nd quickest. The #42 MBM Motorsports Toyota Supra was the first car to go onto the racetrack for qualifying. The 24-year-old set a 30.079 second lap, more than a quarter of a second faster than his best practice lap. Through the first 13 cars in qualifying, Finchum remained at the top of the leaderboard, and by the end of session, his time held up for P22 on the grid, a 12-position improvement over his qualifying run last year at this track. He completed Stage 1 in 20th place, but soon afterwards reported that his brake pedal was fading. The #42 went to the garage with the right front brake on fire, having knocked the brake hoses off at a pit stop when trying to exit the pit stall. The team drained the brake fluid, replaced it, and repaired the duct work. Finchum finished the race off, completing 167 laps and taking P30, his sixth consecutive Top 30 finish in the series.

Follow Chad Finchum on Twitter @ChadFinchum.

Joey Gase, driving the #35 OCR Gaz Bar Toyota Camry, qualified at a time of 30.482 seconds, nearly a half second faster than any of his Friday practice laps. Despite the huge pickup, Gase missed the Top 33 by a mere 29 thousandths of a second and would roll off for the start from P34. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native moved forward at the drop of the green flag, but the #35 team suffered brake problems as well. A right front brake bleeder came loose, meaning the left front had to produce all of the stopping power for the car on corner entry. The brake fluid boiled and left Gase with no brakes. The team repaired the bleeder, drained the boiling fluid, replaced it, and returned to the track to finish the race. Gase completed 159 laps in his 225th Xfinity start and wound up 31st at the checkered flag. He has been running at the finish in five of his eight Xfinity starts at this track.

Joey Gase made his eighth Xfinity Series start at New Hampshire.

Timmy Hill drove the #66 1-855-Law-Hurt / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry at New Hampshire. This chassis was used at Kentucky as the #13 for John Jackson. Like his teammates, Hill picked up significantly in qualifying, more than three tenths faster than his best practice effort, but the lap registered him 36th fastest. Taking a provisional, the #66 would line up 35th on the grid for the race start. Hill moved forward and looked to compete for a Top 25 when his car lost brake pedal pressure as well. The #66 had different brake calipers on it though than the team cars, and the tools needed to repair this supplier's system were not available. Thus, Hill had to retire the car after 92 laps. He finished 34th.

MBM Motorsports team owner Carl Long stepped back in the driver's seat for the first time in 2019 at Loudon. 41 cars were entered at New Hampshire to compete for the 38 available starting positions, and Long knew he was in a go-or-go home situation come qualifying. He showed promising pace in Practice 2 on Friday, with his lap time of 30.632 seconds good enough for 27th fastest. The #13 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry was the third car on track for qualifying, and Long did a hugely impressive 30.150 second lap, nearly a half second pickup from practice, to earn P23 on the grid. That run marked his fifth career Xfinity Series Top 25 starting spot, a personal best since March 2011 at Bristol (22nd), and easily the best qualifying run for the #13 team in 2019, including their first Top 30 start (previous best this season: 31st at Charlotte in May). That success did not translate to the race, as the oil pump for the rear gear failed and caused an overheating issue that meant Long had to retire the car after just 16 laps. He finished 38th in his seventh career Xfinity start at New Hampshire.

The next Xfinity race will be run in Newton, Iowa at the Iowa Speedway on Saturday, July 27. Flag-to-flag television coverage will be available on NBC Sports Network, beginning at 5:00 pm ET.

►07/15/2019 - Kentucky Xfinity Results

Joey Gase turned his 2019 Xfinity Series season around at the Kentucky Speedway, leading MBM Motorsports to a 22nd place finish. The summer months have not been kind to Gase and the #35 team: in all four June races, Gase was forced to the garage with engine failure, and last week at Daytona, he suffered his first DNQ since Charlotte in October of 2013. Mercifully, that stretch ended in Sparta on Friday night.

In the Thursday practices, Gase was 31st fastest in the first session, and improved his lap time by more than three-quarters of a second in Practice 2 to go 23rd quickest. His speed of 171.712 MPH placed him 27th on the grid for the start of the race. It was his fourth career Top 30 start at this track and second-best of 13 series races, behind only a 22nd place grid position in 2019. Gase took a wave-around at the Stage 2 caution, which ended up being the final yellow flag of the race. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native ran out of gas on the final lap but still got the #35 Donate Life / ProMaster Home Repair Toyota Camry to a 22nd place finish. That result is MBM's best-ever finish at Kentucky, improving over team owner Carl Long's career-best 26th place in the September 2015 race here. For Gase, it is his sixth Top 25 of 2019 and third Top 25 at Kentucky, one position behind his best result here, 21st, in that same September 2015 race.

Follow Joey Gase Racing on Twitter @JoeyGaseRacing.

Chad Finchum appeared in contention for a Top 20 all weekend. He was 23rd and 21st fastest in the two Thursday practices, picking up nearly a half second between sessions. His qualifying speed of 171.189 MPH earned P29 on the grid, which is a personal-best at Kentucky in three starts. The Knoxville, Tennessee native worked his way forward in Stage 1, reaching P22 by the first green-and-white checkered flag. He remained in that position by the end of Stage 2, but unlike the #35 team, Finchum decided to pit under the yellow flag. One green flag pit stop would be required in Stage 3 to reach the finish, and the #42 MBM Motorsports Toyota Supra was left on track as long as possible, hoping to gain track position by a well-timed caution. It never came, and Finchum's car ran out of fuel on track. He coasted to pit road, but the car refused to refire once it had been fueled. Finchum was forced to the garage and retired with ignition issues after 154 of 200 laps. His 28th place finish is a personal-best at this track, a one position improvement over his 29th in July 2017.

Follow Chad Finchum on Twitter @ChadFinchum.

John Jackson returned to drive the #13 1-855-Law-Hurt / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry for the first time since Pocono in June, five races ago. He started 38th in his sixth Xfinity race at Kentucky after practicing 34th fastest in the first Thursday session. The Alsco 300 was Jackson's 35th Xfinity Series start overall and seventh of 2019, matching the most starts he has made in a single season to date. Jackson ran 82 laps before retiring with a vibration. His 31st place finish matches his own result at Pocono and Timmy Hill's 31st in the next race at Michigan. It is also a personal-best for Jackson at this track, improving over a 35th in the September 2017 race.

Follow MBM Motorsports on Twitter @MBMMotorsports.

Timmy Hill drove the #66 MBM Motorsports Toyota Supra in his ninth Xfinity start at Kentucky. After 12 laps in the second Thursday practice session, Hill was 29th quickest at a time of 31.707 seconds. He picked up more than a half second to reach a speed of 173.332 MPH, quick enough for 20th on the grid and his seventh career Top 20 starting spot, though only his second on a 1.5-mile intermediate track. The Port Tobacco, Maryland driver ran 18 laps in the race and finished 37th. He dropped out with electrical issues.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series races next at "The Magic Mile," the New Hampshire Motor Speedway, on Saturday, June 20th.

►07/15/2019 - Daytona Xfinity Results

The Circle K Firecracker 250 at the Daytona International Speedway promised so much for MBM Motorsports, but the final box score will not show how competitive multiple MBM cars were running throughout the event.

Two practice were scheduled on Independence Day, July 4th, but only one was held after lightning strikes within an 8-mile radius of the track forced the cancellation of the second session. Qualifying on Friday afternoon experienced a couple of brief delays for light precipitation but was completed and determined which three of the 41 entrants would fail to qualify. The heavens opened approximately 60 minutes before the race and caused the start to be delayed by around two hours; however, the race was still run to its completion that night.

Timmy Hill returned to drive the #66 VSI Racing / Overkill Motorsports Toyota Supra as he did at both previous superspeedway races in 2019 at Daytona and Talladega. If he made the race, the 26-year-old Hill would already be starting his 175th Xfinity Series race overall and 95th in the series for MBM Motorsports. Hill practiced in the draft during what wound up as the lone Thursday session and recorded the 17th fastest time. He was scheduled to be the fourth driver out to take time and put up a strong speed of 185.989 MPH that held up to be 18th fastest by the end of qualifying. Hill matched his career-best Xfinity starting spot: he previously started 18th twice, once earlier this year at Charlotte and once previously at Daytona, also in the July race in 2018.

The Port Tobacco, Maryland native only went forward when the race started, achieving an incredible 5th place finish at the green-and-white checkered flag of Stage 1, earning 6 valuable stage points for the #66 team. He recorded one fastest race lap, made 170 green flag passes (third most of all drivers), spent 69 of 100 race laps in the Top 10, and had the 10th best average running position of all drivers (12.50). Sadly, Hill got swept up in the multi-car pileup that produced the final yellow flag of the race. The crew made repairs on pit road, including removing the hood, and got the #66 back on track to reach the checkered flag three laps behind the leaders. Hill still came across the line in 20th to achieve his 20th Top 20 in Xfinity Series competition and fifth of the 2019 season, but the chance at a truly spectacular finish was ended in the lap 87 incident.

Chad Finchum was 35th quick in the practice on Thursday, and he needed to get the #42 Amana Heating & Air Conditioning / Smithbilt Homes Toyota Supra in the Top 33 qualifying speeds to guarantee himself a starting spot in the 250-mile race. He clocked in at 49.300 seconds, or 182.556 MPH, which wound up 31st fastest and safe to the 34th place driver by 12 hundredths of a second. Like his teammate Hill, Finchum started moving forward at the drop of the green flag. He finished 14th at the end of Stage 1 and 17th at the end of Stage 2, remaining in the lead draft the entire time. Unfortunately, Finchum was also collected in the huge pileup with less than 15 laps to go in the race. The 24-year-old got out of his car under his own power, and this officially ended his race under NASCAR's Damaged Vehicle Policy. Finchum is shown in the final rundown as completing 86 laps and finishing 27th. In the race, the Knoxville, Tennessee driver put up two fastest laps, had the 18th best average running position (19.56), and made 138 green flag passes (13th best of all drivers). Despite the disappointing end to his race, Finchum had a strong night in his third Daytona Xfinity start.

Lakeland, Florida native Joe Nemechek returned to the MBM Motorsports team at Daytona, driving the #13 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Supra for the third time in 2019. Nemechek was one of two drivers to not complete a lap in Thursday practice, putting the veteran on the back foot for qualifying. His time of 49.706 seconds was 37th quickest overall, missing the Top 33 by 32 hundredths of a second. Nemechek was eligible and able to take the Past Champions Provisional this week, unlike the week before at Chicagoland, placing the #13 team in the 38th starting spot. Nemechek completed 39 laps in his 36th Xfinity Series Daytona race before heading to the garage with a steering problem. He finished 36th.

Expecting a large entry list at Daytona, MBM Motorsports swapped the points of their #35 and #66 teams after the Chicagoland round, hoping to give all of their cars the best chance of qualifying for the Daytona race. Driving the #35 Connected Claim Services / Medic Air Systems Toyota Supra, Joey Gase entered Daytona as the 26th highest placed car in owner points. Thursday practice went smoothly enough, with the Cedar Rapids, Iowa native turning in the 20th fastest speed of the day. Then in qualifying, the 26-year-old ran a 49.600 second lap, but it was only good for 36th fastest, 0.214 seconds shy of the Top 33. Several other teams (#0, #07, #51, and #52) high in the owner points missed the Top 33 as well, leaving Gase as one of three drivers to fail to qualify and not be able to take a provisional. It was the first time Gase failed to qualify for an Xfinity Series field since Charlotte in October of 2013, and his first miss at Daytona since February of that same year. It was the second DNQ of 2019 for the MBM Xfinity operation. The team will place this disappointment behind them and prepare to rebound in Kentucky next weekend.

►07/03/2019 - Chicagoland Xfinity Results

For the third consecutive Xfinity race weekend, Chad Finchum produced the best race-result of the four-car MBM Motorsports team. Making his second series start at the Chicagoland Speedway, the Knoxville, Tennessee native qualified a team-best 26th quickest for the 300-mile event and achieved his fourth consecutive Top 30 start. Finchum battled a tight handling condition in his #42 NLB Heating & Cooling / Ryan's Collision Service Toyota Supra through the whole race. The 24-year-old made a late pass to overtake Garrett Smithley in the JD Motorsports #0 and capture a 25th place finish on the road at the checkered flag. A post-race disqualification to a competitor elevated Finchum to 24th in the final classification and confirmed his third consecutive Top 25 result (seventh overall in 2019).

The motor troubles for Cedar Rapids, Iowa driver Joey Gase continued at Chicago. Driving the #35 Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry, Gase qualified P27, just 13 thousandths of a second behind his teammate and comfortably inside the Top 33. The #35 crew, like the #42 team, also battled a tight machine through the opening two stages of the race. The 26-year-old's 12th Xfinity start at this track was abruptly ended in the early portion of Stage 3, as smoke started coming from the engine bay. Gase wound up 33rd for the third time in the last four races.

Timmy Hill returned to the #66 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry this weekend, utilizing the same chassis Stan Mullis piloted in the last Xfinity race at Iowa. The 26-year-old put up a lap time of 31.659 seconds in qualifying, fast enough for 32nd fastest and a full two tenths of a second safe to those outside the Top 33. In his eighth Xfinity start at this track (four with Rick Ware Racing; four with MBM Motorsports), Hill completed 171 laps before retiring with electrical troubles. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native finished 34th.

41 teams attempted to qualify for the 38-car starting field set to contest the Camping World 300. Joe Nemechek was drafted in for Chicago to pilot the #13 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry and attempt to crack the starting field. In his one previous weekend with MBM at Charlotte in May, Nemechek made the Top 33 and qualified for the race despite an enormous slide in Turn 1. The Lakeland, Florida native was 32nd quickest in Practice 1 on Friday at a time of 32.909 seconds and stepped it up in Practice 2 to reach a lap of 31.989 seconds, up to 25th fastest. He nearly duplicated that speed in qualifying on Saturday, with a time of 31.997 seconds, but that fell three tenths of a second shy of qualifying inside the Top 33. While Nemechek would ordinarily have a Past Champions Provisional available, #38 Jeff Green also missed the Top 33 in qualifying, and Green's 2000 series championship being more recent than Nemechek's 1992 triumph gave Green and RSS Racing the final starting spot in the field over the #13 team. This marked the first DNQ of 2019 for the MBM Xfinity operation.

previous 22 straight races (dating back to
Indy 2018) prior to Saturday at Chicago.

The competition only strengthens even further for the upcoming Circle K Firecracker 250 at the Daytona International Speedway on Friday, July 5th. 42 cars are entered for the 38-car field, including strong part-time cars from Hattori Racing Enterprises, Kaulig Racing, and Richard Childress Racing. MBM will be working hard to get all four Xfinity teams qualified at "The World Center of Speed."

►06/20/2019 - Iowa Xfinity Post-Race Report

The four-car MBM Motorsports Xfinity program raced in the CircuitCity.com 250 at Iowa Speedway with four Toyota Camrys, as an off-weekend for the Monster Energy Cup Series made the NASCAR Xfinity Series the headline stock car division of the weekend.

Chad Finchum converted the momentum from a strong run at Michigan to a great showing at Iowa. After practicing 28th quickest in an abbreviated session on Saturday, his qualifying lap time of 24.508 seconds placed him 20th on the grid. That marks the Knoxville, Tennessee native's first Top 20 qualifying run since Bristol in April and an improvement from a previous best at this circuit of 29th (twice). Additionally, it is his fifth Top 20 grid position of the season and sixth of his career.

The #42 MBM Motorsports Toyota Camry remained in the fight for a Top 20 finish through the entire race, consistently running in or just outside of the Top 15. In the final 75 laps of the race, the car developed an increasingly loose handling condition. Then with 28 laps remaining, exiting Turn 4, Finchum was running in the middle of a four-wide battle and got tagged in the left-rear quarterpanel by Joe Graf Jr. of Richard Childress Racing. Finchum saved the car but did make contact with the outside retaining wall on the frontstretch. The 24-year-old soldiered the damage machine home to take 21st at the checkered flag for a second-consecutive Top 25 finish. His result is a career-best Xfinity finish at this track and his 14th Top 25 in the series overall (6th of 2019 through just 14 races).

Stan Mullis returned to the MBM team for the first time since Phoenix in March, this week to pilot the #66 LasVegas.net Toyota Camry. He was one of two drivers, along with Jeff Green of RSS Racing, to not get on track for a practice lap on Saturday, so his Sunday qualifying run was also his first track activity of the weekend. Mullis qualified 37th at a time of 25.327 seconds. He encountered power steering problems in the race, and the #66 MBM crew made multiple trips to the garage to diagnose and rectify the issues. Those efforts proved fruitful, as Mullis gained several positions by returning to the track and making laps after the first repair. The Las Vegas, Nevada native made 109 laps before retiring from the event for good. He was classified 28th in the final rundown, a career-best finish for Mullis. That result comes in his seventh career start and improves over a previous best of 32nd in his series debut in 2017.

Stan Mullis made his fourth Xfinity start
at the Iowa Speedway on Sunday.

Joey Gase's string of engine misfortune in the month of June continued. Racing at his home track, the Cedar Rapids, Iowa native put his #35 Iowa Donor Network Toyota Camry 30th on the grid with a time of 24.678 seconds, recording his ninth Top 30 starting spot of 2019. In his 16th Xfinity start at this track, Gase moved forward in the early going. Trouble struck late in Stage 1, when the #35 lost the motor entering Turn 3. Oil covered his rear tires, and Gase slid into the SAFER barrier. With 46 laps complete, Gase finished 33rd.

Timmy Hill made his ninth Xfinity Series start at the Iowa Speedway aboard the #13 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry. The Port Tobacco, Maryland driver did not set a competitive lap time in the shortened Saturday practice session and then qualified at 25.358 seconds. The 26-year-old made 21 racing laps before heading to the garage with electrical gremlins. He finished 36th.

►06/10/2019 - Michigan Xfinity Post-Race Report

For the fifth consecutive season, MBM Motorsports recorded a Top 30 finish in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Michigan International Speedway. In the 2019 running of the LTi Printing 250, MBM scored the team's best-overall result at this track and placed two cars in the Top 30 at Michigan for the first time.

Chad Finchum led the team in the #42 Irish Hills Collision & Service Toyota Camry. After a difficult practice day on Friday, following on the heels of two early race retirements at Charlotte and Pocono, Finchum qualified with a speed of 185.190 MPH in the Saturday morning single-car session. He earned P28 on the starting grid for his third Top 30 start from the last four races and best-career Michigan starting spot. Finchum made a tremendous start and reached the Top 20 by the end of the first lap. He was up to P17 by the first caution flag and ran well inside the Top 20 through nearly all of Stage 1. The team remained on the lead lap until the final 20 laps of the race, and a top off of the fuel tank on lap 80 proved to be a great decision, as the #42 made the checkered flag without having to make another stop for fuel. Finchum crossed the line to take 22nd, his best finish since the Top 20 result at Bristol in April. The 24-year-old recorded his fifth Top 25 of the season, as well as the sixth for the #42 team.

Follow Chad Finchum on Twitter @ChadFinchum.

Joey Gase looked to be competing for a Top 25 as well as Finchum through the first two stage of the race. The #35 Clubfoot Solutions Toyota Supra qualified 36th but quickly advanced through some of the backmarkers into the Top 30. The leader at the conclusion of Stage 2, Christopher Bell in the #20, raced Gase hard to the green-and-white checkered flag, and Gase beat him to the start-finish line by the narrowest of margins to remain on the lead lap for the pit stop sequence and the start of Stage 3. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native never got the chance to take the green for Stage 3 through, as at the pit stop the crew found oil smeared across the rear bumper cover. Engine issues ended the 26-year-old's race for the second consecutive race prematurely. The #35 team still recorded P29, their 10th Top 30 from the first 13 races.

The drama of qualifying inside the Top 33 returned at Michigan, as 39 teams attempted to make the 38-car starting field. Several teams low in the owner points standings made driver changes entering Michigan, trying to increase their chances of making the Top 33. Timmy Hill slid over to the #13 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry this week, and his Friday practice showings of P34 in both sessions meant the #13 MBM team would be walking the tightrope to continue their streak of qualifying for every Xfinity race to date in 2019. After practicing with a best lap speed in the 179 MPH range, Hill qualified with a lap of 184.171 MPH, more than a full second faster in lap time. He beat the #07 of Ray Black Jr. by 3 thousandths of a second and through his herculean effort, wound up exactly P33, the last car to guarantee himself a starting spot on his qualifying speed. Hill completed 42 laps in the race before retiring due to a vibration. His 31st place finish matches his 2018 result at this track and is the fifth Top 32 finish for the #13 team in 2019.

Follow MBM Motorsports on Twitter @MBMMotorsports.

Tyler Hill returned to the driver's seat at Michigan to pilot an MBM Xfinity car for the third time this season. His qualifying speed in the #66 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Supra of 185.323 MPH led the four-car MBM effort, and his run continued the successful string of qualifying efforts for the #66 in 2019. Through the first 13 races, ten qualifying sessions have been held. The #66 has made the Top 33 in all ten and has been Top 27 in nine of ten sessions. This week the speed failed to carry through to the race result through, as Hill lost oil pressure in the motor early in Stage 1. He had no option but to head to the garage after just 17 laps completed in the race. He finished 35th in his first Xfinity start on the 2-mile oval.

While the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series has an off-weekend coming up, the NASCAR Xfinity Series continues next weekend at the Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa for a 250-lap contest on Sunday.

►06/05/2019 - Pocono Xfinity Results

Timmy Hill bounced back from a difficult outing at Charlotte with a strong performance for his #66 LeithCars.com Toyota Supra at the 2.5-mile Pocono Raceway. The Port Tobacco, Maryland driver was 21st quickest in the second of two Friday practices for the NASCAR Xfinity Series. In Saturday morning qualifying, Hill put up an average lap speed of 164.453 MPH, fast enough for 21st on the grid in his third Pocono Xfinity race, a personal best at this track. That effort extends a stout run of Top 25 qualifying results to five of the last six races.

The LeithCars.com machine stayed on the lead lap for the first two stages of the race and ran in the Top 25 through the duration of the event. The race was scheduled to be 250 miles/100 laps, but two late yellow flags sent the finish of the event into overtime. Hill took advantage of the late race restarts to elevate himself into 19th place at the checkered flag, a career-best Xfinity result at Pocono and his fourth Top 20 of the season, as well as the sixth Top 25 for the #66 of 2019.

John Jackson qualified for his sixth Xfinity start of 2019 driving the #13 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry at Pocono. The 55-year-old started his first Pocono race in the series, but he did enter the race weekend with previous experience at this track, dating back to a 2006 ARCA race at the circuit driving for Mario Gosselin’s DGM Racing team. Jackson started Saturday's race from 36th and completed 36 laps. He recorded a 31st place result, just one position off matching his career-best from Fontana earlier this year.

Joey Gase put up the best performance of the four MBM Motorsports cars in qualifying at Pocono. At a speed of 164.763 MPH around the 2.5-mile track, Gase placed his #35 Toyota Supra in P19 on the grid. That result is a personal-best qualifying effort of the season, bettering a 20th place starting spot at Fontana, and career-best at this track (24th in 2018). A promising start to the race could not be converted to a representative finish though when the #35 blew its motor early in Stage 2. Gase finished 33rd with 34 laps complete.

Chad Finchum's second career Xfinity Pocono race was cut short due to an early incident. He qualified the #42 Smithbilt Homes Toyota Supra in P26, his best starting spot since Richmond in April, four races ago. After gaining several positions in the first few laps of the race, Finchum and another car made contact in Turn 2 on lap 11. The #42 car spun down the track and impacted the inside retaining wall, ending the race. Finchum finished 37th and will look to rebound from a difficult two-week stretch at the next Xfinity race in Michigan.

►05/31/2019 - Charlotte Memorial Day Weekend Results

After two consecutive race weekends off following Dover, the NASCAR Xfinity Series returned to action for the Alsco 300 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Memorial Day weekend.

40 driver/car combinations attempted to make the 38 car starting field, where the Top 33 at the conclusion of single-car qualifying, held Saturday morning, are locked into the race. The series hosted two practice sessions on Thursday afternoon, followed by the now traditional quiet track day on Friday. MBM Motorsports shined in the second and final practice, placing all four of their cars in the Top 25 posted speeds.

Joey Gase produced the best race result for the four-team MBM Xfinity operation at Charlotte. Driving the #35 LifeShare Carolinas Toyota Supra, Gase secured himself a starting spot of 26th, his best grid position since Fontana in March. The 26-year-old remained on the lead lap for much of the race, but his final result was hampered by multiple loose wheels that forced extra, unscheduled pit stops. Gase overcame the hurdles and took the checkered flag in 21st, narrowly missing out on his second Top 20 of 2019. The #35 team now has five Top 25 finishes through the first 11 races of 2019, and the Charlotte effort elevates the car from 32nd up to 29th in owner points, 28th among full-time teams. For Gase, it is his fourth Top 25 from twelve starts on the Charlotte oval.

Like and follow MBM Motorsports on Facebook.

With the large entry list at Charlotte, MBM drafted in NASCAR veteran Joe Nemechek to pilot the #13 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry and get the car in the Top 33. Nemechek, a 55-year-old originally from Lakeland, Florida, earned the moniker "Front Row Joe" early in his career for producing regular strong qualifying performances, and he looked set for another after placing 19th quickest in the second practice session on Thursday. Entering Turn 1 on his qualifying lap, Nemechek had a huge sideways moment, but he saved the car, hustled back to the start-finish line, and still made the Top 33 despite the slide. Nemechek started his 1165th NASCAR national touring series race from P31 and completed 58 laps in the race before retiring due to a vibration. He finished 32nd and became the fourth different driver to place in the Top 35 for the #13 team this season.

Timmy Hill welcomed LeithCars.com back aboard the #66 Toyota Camry after they partnered with the #66 team for the inaugural Xfinity race on the Charlotte Roval in 2018. Hill showed speed in the final practice on Thursday, ranking 21st fastest, and he stepped it up even further on his qualifying attempt to get the Leith Cars machine up into 18th on the starting grid. This is the third consecutive Xfinity race in which Timmy Hill has qualified in the Top 20, as well as four of the last five races. The 18th place starting spot is a best start of 2019 for Hill and equals his best-ever Xfinity start (Daytona II in 2015). Unfortunately, all of that positive momentum failed to carry over to the race itself. Less than 20 laps into the event, the engine expired in the #66. Hill's 170th series start ended in a highly unrepresentative 35th place finishing position.

Coming into the event, Timmy Hill's previous best
starting spot on the Charlotte oval was 24th (twice).
He bettered that mark by six starting positions in 2019.

Chad Finchum drove the #42 Smithbilt Homes Toyota Supra to 25th quickest in Thursday's final practice and felt optimistic about the potential in his long-run racecar. The team did not get through Saturday morning inspection in time to make a qualifying attempt but still earned P38 on the grid through a provisional and was looking forward to charging through the field. However, the Knoxville, Tennessee native's race was over almost before it began. As soon as the green flag came out to begin Stage 1, Finchum reported the motor seemed to be down a cylinder, and the crew had no choice but to take the car to the garage and attempt to further diagnose the issue. The #42 did return to the track from the garage briefly, but lingering issues forced the car to be retired after only five completed laps.

Follow Chad Finchum on Twitter @ChadFinchum.

In the premier series, Joey Gase qualified for his first Cup points race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Thursday evening, recording a lap of 168.439 MPH in single-car, single-lap qualifying. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native would roll off for the start from 40th.

The #66 Toyota Camry lined up on pit road and set for qualifying.

The Coca-Cola 600 is the longest distance race on the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series schedule, with 400 laps around the 1.5-mile quad-oval composing the event, and it retains an endurance aspect to the racing that is more prominent than in many of the other present Cup races. Gase suffered with multiple severe vibrations throughout the night, and the team was forced to make multiple trips to the garage to try to diagnose the problems. The team's resilience was on full display, as despite the difficult race, the #66 OCR Gaz Bar Toyota Camry made it to the checkered flag on track, extending the #66 team's streak of consecutive points races of running at the finish to three. Gase recorded a final result of P32 in his first Coca-Cola 600, which is also the best finish for the MBM Cup team in a points race this season and best overall since Timmy Hill placed 28th last August in the Bristol night race.

OCR Gaz Bar decals were added to the
quarterpanels prior to the race on Sunday evening.

►05/22/2019 - Charlotte All-Star Weekend Results

For the second consecutive race weekend, MBM Motorsports fielded two Toyota Camrys in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. Both of the MBM cars raced in the Monster Energy Open, the prelude to the Monster Energy All-Star Race at the 1.5-mile Charlotte Motor Speedway quad-oval.

Timmy Hill qualified the #66 in 22nd position at a speed of 168.650 MPH. The Port Tobacco, Maryland driver took the checkered flag in P15, completing all 62 laps in the race. 15th position is a personal best for Hill in this event and marks the second consecutive year the 26-year-old achieved a lead lap finish in an MBM Toyota in this race. The #66 team placed 17th in 2017 with team owner Carl Long behind the wheel, and Hill picked up an 18th place in the 2018 event.

Joey Gase, competing in his first premier series All-Star race weekend, drove the #46 and assumed the 24th starting spot on the grid after not completing a qualifying run. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native completed 21 laps before heading to the garage with fuel pump issues. He finished 22nd.

►05/15/2019 - Kansas Cup Results

For the first time in team history, MBM Motorsports fielded two Monster Energy Cup Series racecars on the same weekend in NASCAR's premier series.

MBM placed two 26-year-old NASCAR veterans in their cars for the Digital Ally 400 at Kansas Speedway: Timmy Hill returned to the #66 for the third time in 2019, and Joey Gase debuted the second MBM car, the #46, in his fifth Cup attempt of the season.

In single car qualifying on Friday, Gase drove the #46 Page Construction Toyota Camry to a respectable 168.608 MPH average lap speed. Hill was not able to post a representative lap time, as his #66 MBM Motorsports Toyota Camry bottomed out on corner entry into Turn 1 and sent the Port Tobacco, Maryland native up the track.

Both cars required two attempts to pass pre-race inspection on Saturday afternoon, leaving the #66 in 39th and the #46 in 40th on the starting grid.

While the outright race pace of the team still has capacity for improvement, both cars demonstrated that the MBM Cup program is regaining the reliability in its machines needed to complete 400-mile races, as both cars took the checkered flag on track this weekend. Gase placed 38th, marking his third consecutive Cup start in which he has been running at the finish and extending a streak dating back to 2018 that includes seven of the last eight races. Hill wound up 39th at the race finish, but more significantly, also took the checkered flag on track for the first time in his three 2019 Cup races to date.

The two-car MBM Cup program is expected to continue at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Monster Energy Open this coming weekend.

►05/15/2019 - Dover Xfinity Results

The four-car MBM Motorsports Xfinity entry had one outstanding performance and three more reserved runs in the Allied Steel Buildings 200 at Dover International Speedway.

Port Tobacco, Maryland native Timmy Hill was the star of the day. The 26-year-old qualified the #66 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry, still carrying the Benny Parsons-inspired base scheme, in 19th position at a speed of 153.689 MPH. For Hill, making his 169th Xfinity Series start at Dover, 19th on the grid marked just his fourth career Top 20 start, and three of those four have come in the last four Xfinity race weekends. His performance improved even further in the race, as Hill took the checkered flag in P16. It was the best finish of the season for the #66 team, and Hill's personal best result at this track (previous best: 21st in 2014). Additionally, the finish is Hill's best in a non-restrictor plate oval race since Darlington in 2012 (also 16th).

Joey Gase piloted the #35 Dynamic Pay Toyota Camry from a 36th place grid position up to 29th by the checkered flag. The 26-year-old has recorded eight Top 30 finishes through the first ten Xfinity races of 2019, including six of the last seven.

Chad Finchum, after driving the #13 at Talladega the previous week, returned to his regular #42 at Dover. The team welcomed new sponsor Garrison Homes onboard the #42 Toyota Camry, running the same base scheme Colin Garrett had on the #66 at Richmond earlier in the month. Finchum qualified 27th at a speed of 150.754 MPH, recording his third consecutive Top 30 start at this track. He finished the race in P30, his sixth Top 30 in nine starts to date in 2019 and also his second consecutive Top 30 in the Dover spring race.

John Jackson returned to the cockpit to drive the fourth MBM entry at Dover. The #13 Richie Anderson Memorial / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry qualified 38th for the race. Jackson, making his 33rd Xfinity Series start but first at Dover, completed 13 laps in the race before retiring with a vibration. He finished 37th.

►05/02/2019 - Talladega Xfinity Results

A day of great optimism for MBM Motorsports at Talladega produced a strong result for one car, but the rest of the MBM team was left to wonder what might have been.

Max Tullman, returning to the NASCAR Xfinity Series for the first time since Daytona in February, made his fifth career start in the series, driving the #42 Top Tier Toyota Supra. The 21-year-old came from 35th on the grid to score a 20th place, lead lap finish, resetting a personal best result and obtaining his third Top 25. For the #42 team, Tullman delivered them their third Top 20 and fifth Top 25 of 2019 through the first nine races of the season.

Timmy Hill welcomed VSI Racing and Overkill Motorsports back to the #66 Toyota Supra for the first time since Daytona. In qualifying, with a speed of 184.815 MPH, Hill took the 19th starting spot. In 167 previous Xfinity races, he had just two Top 20 starts: 2015 Daytona II and 2019 Bristol I. The 26-year-old was not able to convert his strong start into a representative finish, as the #66 was collected in the multi-car incident that triggered the race's final caution flag. Hill ended up classified in 29th at the checkered flag, with 108 of 113 laps completed.

MBM's regular driver of the #42, Chad Finchum, slid over to the #13 James Carter Attorney at Law / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Supra for the Talladega race weekend. The Knoxville, Tennessee driver qualified 37th and finished 36th, retiring from the event after 36 laps. Finchum will return to his standard #42 ride at Dover in the next race weekend at Dover.

Joey Gase qualified the #35 Donate Life Alabama / RegisterMe.org/Gase Toyota Supra in 27th but suffered an engine failure after just 35 laps. The #35 team finished 37th, and crucially fell to 32nd in the owner points leaving Talladega. Among the full-time Xfinity Series entrants, the #35 is now ranked 31st, just two points outside of the Top 30.

►04/14/2019 - Richmond Post-Race Report

Joey Gase pulled double duty at Richmond Raceway for MBM Motorsports, competing in both the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and the NASCAR Xfinity Series, and put in a yeoman's effort to get both of his Toyotas to the checkered flags with solid finishes.

The #66 Eternal Fan / Fan Memories Toyota Camry Cup entry for MBM carried a tribute scheme to Sam Bass, the first officially licensed artist of NASCAR and a dearly missed member of the racing community after his passing in February earlier this year.

The #66 lined up and ready to qualify.

Gase qualified the Sam Bass-tribute machine at a time of 22.652 seconds and was provisionally slotted 36th on the starting grid. Post-qualifying technical inspection did not occur until Saturday, and the #66 was one of eight teams to have their qualifying speed deleted after failing NASCAR's Optical Scanning Station. The MBM crew made adjustments, got the car through inspection, and prepared to race from 37th on the grid.

On the grid for pre-race ceremonies.

Gase, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, raced between the two Rick Ware Racing cars and the Spire Motorsports entry for the majority of the evening. The 26-year-old secured a 33rd place result, which is the best Cup finish for MBM since Timmy Hill placed 33rd at Las Vegas in September 2018. It is also a personal best for Gase at this particular track in the Cup series; his previous best was a 35th place with StarCom Racing, also in September 2018.

In the Xfinity Series, all of the on-track action was scheduled to take place in a single day. The cars arrived at the track on Thursday, then on Friday there was to be one practice session in the morning, qualifying in the afternoon, and racing under the lights. Precipitation forced the cancellation of Xfinity qualifying for the third time just eight races deep into the 2019 season. On a weekend in which 40 cars arrived at Richmond to compete for 38 starting positions, owner points and previous attempts determined the starting lineup.

Joey Gase, driving the #35 Donate Life Virginia Toyota Camry, had his strongest non-restrictor plate run of the season to date. He started 28th, competed inside the Top 25 for most of the race, and found himself on the lead lap deep into Stage 3. At the checkered, Gase crossed the line in 23rd for his fourth Top 25 at Richmond in 13 series starts, including his last three consecutive events at this track. Through eight races, Gase has racked up four Top 25 finishes for the #35 team and has now moved up to 23rd in Driver Championship Standings.

MBM welcomed a new driver aboard the #66 at Richmond to make his NASCAR national touring series debut. Colin Garrett, an 18-year-old racer out of Elmo, Virginia, had NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Series experience prior to racing at Richmond, with a best result of 3rd place at South Boston Speedway in May 2018. Garrett drove admirably throughout the day. He was 27th fastest in practice, started 24th on owner points, and competed inside the Top 30 all night with his #66 Racing For Heroes Toyota Camry. He had an especially close call avoiding the incident that triggered the race's final caution flag. #9 Noah Gragson got spun by #21 Kaz Grala on a restart from the high line, and Gragson's car came down the track. Garrett dove to the bottom in the #66, slipped by Gragson by the slimmest of margins, and got the Camry through clean. Garrett wound up 26th at the end of the race, giving the #66 seven Top 30 finishes through eight Xfinity events in 2019.

Racing For Heros, a 501(c)(3) organization that empowers
veterans through motorsports, health, wellness and
employment opportunities, displayed on the #66.

Chad Finchum started his #42 Smithbilt Homes Toyota Supra from P25 and raced amongst the Top 25 through Stage 1. However, the team faced brake trouble in the morning practice session, and brake issues cropped up again in Stage 2 of the race, forcing the retirement of the car after 119 laps. Finchum ended up 34th in the final rundown.

Follow Chad Finchum on Twitter @ChadFinchum.

Timmy Hill demonstrated the strongest pace from the #13 so far this season. The 26-year-old practiced with a best lap of 23.070 seconds, which placed him 18th quickest of the 40 teams in Richmond. Hill started the race from 37th on owner points and went to the garage almost immediately after the drop of the green flag with a severe vibration. The team checked the car over, changed the tires, and returned the #13 Richie Anderson / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry to the race. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native completed 15 laps total before returning to the garage and ending up 37th.

The #13 team kept the Richie Anderson
tribute decal on the hood at Richmond.

►04/11/2019 - Richmond Pre-Race Note

Joey Gase will attempt to qualify for his third Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond Raceway this weekend and 33rd overall series start. Thanks to sponsor Eternal Fan, riding onboard with him will be a tribute to the renowned NASCAR artist Sam Bass, who passed away at the age of 57 earlier this year. The car will feature a collage of many artistic pieces Bass crafted over the years, including works of Dale Earnhardt, Richard Petty, Rusty Wallace, Ernie Irvan, Kyle Petty, Michael Waltrip, and others.

►04/11/2019 - Bristol Post-Race Report

Bristol Motor Speedway played host to the first of back-to-back short track race weekends for the top two national NASCAR series. However, the entire MBM Motorsports entered the facility mourning the loss of Richie Anderson, 57. He passed away unexpectedly in the week leading up to Bristol after suffering a heart attack. Anderson was the best man to MBM driver John Jackson in his wedding, and all of the MBM teams dedicated their weekend performance to his memory. Four of the five MBM cars at Bristol, including the Monster Energy Cup #66 car, ran hood decals commemorating Anderson's life.

The Xfinity Series action on Saturday began with three rounds of qualifying. Chad Finchum, a native of Knoxville, Tennessee, put down a lap of 15.581 seconds in Round 1, fast enough for 14th quickest in his #42 Smithbilt Homes / Kingsport Speedway Toyota Supra. He slowed down a mere 3 hundredths of a second in Round 2, securing the 18th starting spot for his fourth Xfinity race at Bristol. That result is the best grid position Finchum has achieved in his 45-race career so far through an on-track qualifying performance, and his fourth appearance in Round 2 of qualifying (all in his last 9 series starts).

Follow Chad Finchum on Twitter @ChadFinchum.

Timmy Hill also impressed in time trials, driving the #66 Richie Anderson / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry. Hill made the second round of qualifying with a 15.679 second lap, 19th quickest in Round 1. Like his teammate, Hill was unable to duplicate that in Round 2, but he still posted a speed fast enough to take the 20th grid position and earn his best starting spot since Daytona in July 2015 for JGL Racing. It was Hill's second-ever Top 20 Xfinity series start and best starting position in his five seasons with MBM Motorsports.

The Benny Parsons-tribute scheme rode
to its best start and finish to date.

Finchum and Hill both ran strong for the duration of the 300-lap. Hill led the quartet of MBM Xfinity cars home in P17, a best for the 26-year-old on a non-restrictor plate track since 2012 at Darlington. Finchum finished in 20th position, and were it not for a cut tire in the closing laps and consequent unscheduled pit stop, Finchum could have been even higher. Despite the late pit stop, it is the third time in 2019 MBM has recorded a double Top 20 (previously at Daytona and Phoenix).

Joey Gase qualified the #35 Richie Anderson Toyota Camry in 27th, but he was required to start in the rear of the field after cracking a piston in final practice on Friday and being forced to change engines. The 26-year-old struggled with a sticking throttle through most of the event and was further hampered by being forced to make two green flag pit stops for loose right front wheels. Despite the adversity, Gase got the car home in P27 for his ninth Top 30 in 13 Xfinity Series starts at Bristol.

Joey Gase started his 215th Xfinity race at Bristol.

On an emotional weekend, John Jackson qualified for his first Bristol Xfinity race and claimed 35th position on the starting grid. The #13 Richie Anderson / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry completed 9 laps in the race before pulling off with suspension issues and finishing 37th.

John Jackson has started 4 of the first 7 Xfinity races this season.

Through seven races, two MBM cars sit in the Top 25 in owner points, with the #66 in 24th and the #42 in 25th. The #35 team also maintains a position in the Top 30, leaving Bristol in 28th. In the driver's championship, Finchum holds 23rd in the standings with 81 series points, Gase is in the Top 25 on 76 points, and Hill finds himself 27th on 65 points.

MBM debuted a new blue color scheme on the #66 Toyota Camry in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series at Bristol. Timmy Hill made his second Cup start of 2019. He qualified 35th, posting a best speed of 121.898 MPH on his third of five laps in the 10-minute session. A portion of Hill's qualifying run can be seen here, thanks to FOX Sports 1 for the coverage.

The team added the Richie Anderson tribute decal to the hood in time for practice on Saturday and the race on Sunday. Suspension issues forced the team to retire the car from the race after 239 laps, just short of half-distance in the 500-lap event. Hill was classified 35th, his best Cup result since Las Vegas in September 2018.

A new electric blue color adorned the #66 at Bristol.

►04/01/2019 - Texas Post-Race Report

MBM Motorsports qualified all four cars into the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Texas Motor Speedway. 40 teams attempted to make the sixth race on the 2019 schedule, the first time this season the number of entries has exceeded the available starting spots.

Chad Finchum started his fifth Xfinity event of the season in the #42 Amana Heating & Air Conditioning Toyota Supra from 35th. The 24-year-old only had eight practice laps to reacclimate himself to the 1.5-mile oval before an engine problem relegated the #42 team to the backup motor for the on-track action on Saturday. Despite having just 10 laps prior to the race, Finchum raced up through the field and competed inside the Top 25 for nearly the entirety of Stages 2 and 3. A late pit stop for fuel to reach the finish cost Finchum his second Top 20 of the season, but he still took the checkered flag in 23rd for his fourth Top 26 in his five 2019 starts.

Finchum earned his second Top 25 in three Xfinity starts at Texas.

Joey Gase was the quickest of the MBM Motorsports cars in Final Practice on Friday, and he started the #35 thegiftedlife.org / LOPA.org Toyota Camry from 37th on the grid. The 26-year-old drove a controlled race to reach 24th place at the finish for the third Top 25 result for the MBM #35 team this season. Gase has started 14 Xfinity races at Texas, and his three most recent starts here have produced his three best results, all in the Top 25.

Gase matched his best non-restrictor plate finish so far in 2019.

Tyler Hill ran the #66 Chris Kyle Memorial Benefit Toyota Supra, making his first NASCAR start on a 1.5-mile intermediate track. The 24-year-old qualified the #66 into the race on time in 33rd and had a clean race going until an incident early in Stage 2. David Starr got spun at the exit of Turn 4, and in order to avoid the #52 Chevrolet, Hill dove to the inside of the track and was forced into the grass in the quad-oval. The splitter dug into the ground and tore the front of the car apart, but the MBM crew was able to repair the car sufficiently so that the #66 could return to the race and reach the finish of the race. Tyler Hill recorded a 28th place result, giving the #66 its fifth Top 28 in the first six races of the season.

Chris Kyle Memorial Benefit logos cover the #66 Toyota Supra.

Timmy Hill completed the four-man MBM driver lineup at Texas, and if he qualified for the 38-car field, the My Bariatric Solutions 300 would mark the first NASCAR national touring series race that the two Hill brothers would both compete in as drivers. The #13 Street Toys Automotive & Truck Accessories Toyota Camry struggled for pace in the Friday practice sessions, placing 34th and 32nd fastest, respectively. The Top 33 quickest qualifiers make the race on time, so the #13 found itself right on the bubble entering time trials on Saturday morning. Hill went out in qualifying and laid down a 30.173 second lap, more than a half-second pickup from his best lap on Friday. The time wound up 32nd at the end of Round 1, two tenths of a second safe to the fastest driver outside the Top 33. The effort enabled Timmy Hill to start his 165th Xfinity race and 11th at Texas, though it was a brief outing, as the #13 retired after 20 laps and finished 37th.

Timmy Hill is the fourth different driver
to pilot the #13 for MBM in 2019.

Timmy Hill kept busy all weekend long, puling triple-duty for the first time in 2019. He ran the #87 Chevrolet Silverado for NEMCO Motorsports in the Gander Outdoors Truck Series race on Friday, the MBM #13 in Xfinity, and then made his first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup start of the season in the MBM #66 Toyota Camry. The Cup car carried the same Donate Life colors as in the car's last two attempts, but this week had the Chris Kyle Memorial Benefit logo on the hood. CrashClaimsR.US logos were added to the quarterpanels in time for the O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 on Sunday. Hill started from 39th and completed 168 laps in the race, but he was forced to the garage prematurely with clutch issues. The #66 finished 38th.

MBM Motorsports qualified for their second Cup race at Texas.
The one previous start came with David Starr in November 2017.

►03/17/2019 - Fontana Post-Race Report

The Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California hosted the fifth points race weekend of the 2019 season for both the Monster Energy Cup and Xfinity Series teams, as well as the third and final race of NASCAR's "West Coast Swing." The 2-mile oval returned mixed results for the five MBM Motorsports cars across the two series.

Joey Gase pulled double-duty for the third race event of 2019. On Saturday, the Xfinity Series completed single-car qualifying to set the starting lineup, and Gase posted a time nearly 1.3 seconds faster than his best practice lap. The dramatic pickup earned the 26-year-old the 20th starting spot, his best grid position in eight series starts at this track and best start for the #35 in 2019 to date.

MBM qualified two cars in the Top 25 and three in the Top 30 for the second consecutive week. Chad Finchum improved 0.95 seconds from his best practice time to grab the 24th starting spot, and Timmy Hill got the Benny Parsons-inspired #66 up into 26th. John Jackson stepped in to pilot the #13 "Dan Marino" machine this week, qualifying 35th. Including Gase mentioned above, all four MBM drivers achieved their career-best Xfinity Series starting positions at this track.

Follow Chad Finchum on Twitter @ChadFinchum.

In Stage 1 of the Production Alliance Group 300, Finchum raced into the Top 20, and it appeared his #42 Amana Heating & Air Conditioning / Signarama Toyota Supra was on course to have his best performance of 2019. However, a rear axle issue sent the #42 car behind the wall and brought a promising run to a premature end. Finchum finished 32nd, which does better his 2018 result at Fontana (36th).

A rear axle problem forced an early exit for the #42.

Before Finchum retired, the #42 team and crew chief Brian Keselowski received some well-deserved television coverage from the FOX Sports 1 race broadcast.

With Finchum in the garage, it was up to Joey Gase to be the flagship car for MBM in the 300-mile event. The #35 Cocopah Speedway / Dynamic Pay Toyota Camry ran out of fuel near the end of Stage 2 and lost several laps while the team tried to get the car running again. While the incident prevented Gase from reaching his third Top 25 of the season, he did bring the car to the checkered flag in 27th. The result is his seventh Top 30 in eight starts at the Auto Club Speedway.

Joey Gase ran the same Xfinity chassis at Fontana
that he ran the previous week in Phoenix.

John Jackson, making his 31st Xfinity start, drove the #13 Street Toys Automotive & Truck Accessories / LasVegas.net Toyota Camry. Jackson got some television time when he helped push Gase's stricken car at the entrance of pit road, ensuring the final laps of Stage 2 could be completed under green and the out-of-fuel #35 would reach its pit box. Jackson took advantage of the early-race attrition and recorded a 30th place finish, his new career-best (previously 31st, twice).

John Jackson scored his first career Xfinity Top 30 at Fontana.

Timmy Hill returned to the #66 James Carter Attorney at Law / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry at Fontana after surrendering the car to brother Tyler Hill one week ago at ISM Raceway. Hill completed 34 laps before retiring and taking a 34th place finish.

The Benny Parsons-tribute scheme has
raced in four of five Xfinity races in 2019.

In the Auto Club 400 on Sunday, Gase carried the logos and colors of Donate Life Nevada and NVDonor.org onboard the #66 Toyota Camry. It was the Cedar Rapids, Iowa native's first Cup event at this track. Coming from P38 and shotgun on the field, Gase fought a tight racecar for much of the day, but he soldiered on and brought the car home in one piece. The #66 took the checkered flag in 35th place, completing 188 of 200 laps.

►03/12/2019 - Phoenix Post-Race Report

MBM Motorsports scored the first-ever team triple Top 25 and second double Top 20 of the season in the NASCAR Xfinity Series iK9 Service Dog 200 at ISM Raceway near Phoenix, Arizona.

On track action for the Xfinity cars on Saturday began with NASCAR's three-round, elimination-style qualifying, and the MBM group got the day off to a good start. This was the first three-round, multi-vehicle time trial session of the season, as Daytona featured two rounds of single car qualifying, and each of the last two events have had qualifying cancelled due to moisture. Two MBM drivers posted speeds in the Top 20 of Round 1, ensuring their advancement into Round 2 of the session by placing inside the Top 24 cutoff.

Chad Finchum, driving the #42 Amana Heating & Air Conditioning / Smithbilt Homes Toyota Supra, ended Round 1 as the 20th fastest driver, lapping ISM Raceway in just 27.994 seconds. He improved to a time of 27.911 seconds in Round 2, fast enough to secure 20th position on the grid. Finchum has qualified in the Top 25 in all four of his most recent Xfinity races in which qualifying was held, and he has made the second round of qualifying in three of those races. His 20th place start is a personal best at this track and a two-position improvement over his 22nd place start here last November.

Follow Chad Finchum on Twitter @ChadFinchum.

Joey Gase bounced back from a difficult weekend in Las Vegas in a big way in his #35 Donate Life Arizona Toyota Camry. In Round 1, Gase impressed with a lap of 27.824 seconds, placing him 16th on the timesheet and more than three tenths of a second safe to the Top 24 cutoff. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native earned the 21st spot on the grid in Round 2, marking his best grid spot to date with MBM Motorsports.

Joey Gase drove a Camry at ISM, after
running a Supra in the first three events of 2019.

Regular MBM driver Timmy Hill vacated the #66 James Carter Attorney at Law / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry this week to allow his younger brother Tyler Hill back into the cockpit for his second career Xfinity attempt at Phoenix. Tyler qualified in 27th, less than nine hundredths of a second from making the Top 24.

Follow Tyler Hill on Twitter @Tyler_Hill_.

All three of these teams ran competitively in the 200-mile event and secured Top 25 finishes. Finchum came home 19th to pick up his fourth career Top 20 finish in the Xfinity Series and record the best result for the #42 car so far in 2019. Tyler Hill in 20th earned a new career-best finish and his first NASCAR national touring series Top 20. Those two finishes give MBM Motorsports the team's fourth double Top 20 as an organization in the Xfinity Series (previously Mid-Ohio 2017, Daytona II 2018, Daytona I 2019).

Follow Chad Finchum on Twitter @ChadFinchum.

Joey Gase secured the team's first triple Top 25 by bringing his #35 car home in P24. Out of 14 starts at this circuit, the 26-year-old has now accumulated seven Top 25's, including the last three consecutively.

Las Vegas, Nevada native Stan Mullis returned to the #13 Street Toys Automotive & Truck Accessories / LasVegas.net Toyota Camry for the second consecutive race. This event marked the sixth Xfinity start for Mullis and the third different track on which he has competed. Mullis made 35 laps in the race before retiring and finished 36th.

NASCAR's next stop brings the Monster Energy Cup Series and the Xfinity Series to Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.

►03/03/2019 - Las Vegas Post-Race Report

Chad Finchum carried the flag for MBM Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the Boyd Gaming 300.

Finchum rolled off the starting grid from P2, as for the second consecutive week Xfinity qualifying was cancelled due to moisture and the lineup was set based primarily on 2018 car owner points. Beginning at ISM Raceway next weekend, if a qualifying session is cancelled, the grid will be set based on the 2019 standings.

The 24-year-old Knoxville, Tennessee native raced inside the Top 25 for most of the event, and he took advantage of some late carnage to capture a 21st place result. It is his 9th career Top 25 finish and is a four-position improvement over his previous best result at this track (25th in September 2018).

Chad Finchum has scored personal best finishes at both
tracks he has raced to start 2019: Atlanta and Las Vegas.

Timmy Hill drove the #66 Francovich Manhattan Toyota Camry from a 34th place starting spot, and like Finchum, he spent much of his afternoon competing for a position inside the Top 25. The Benny Parsons-inspired machine finished 23rd and gave MBM a double Top 25 at Las Vegas. For Hill, the result gives him two Top 25's in the first three Xfinity events of 2019. The 26-year-old achieved a personal-best at this track, bettering his P24 in 2011 for Rick Ware Racing, a result that came in just his second-ever NASCAR start.

The #13 MBM machine welcomed its third different driver in the first three events of 2019. Stan Mullis, driving the #13 Street Toys Automotive & Truck Accessories / LasVegas.net Toyota Camry, started his fifth Xfinity race and second at Las Vegas. Mullis completed 14 laps in the race before retiring, but his 35th place result is still his best of two finishes at this track.

On lap 2 of the Boyd Gaming 300, entering Turn 3, Donald Theetge spun his #90 DGM Racing car and nailed the gas pedal in an effort to keep the car off the outside retaining wall. In doing so, he slowed his momentum moving towards the wall but continued to gradually move up the track. Jairo Avila Jr. in the #99 got by on the outside, but by the time Gase arrived on the scene, the #90 was nearly perpendicular to oncoming traffic, and Gase had nowhere to go. The #35 Donate Life Nevada / NVDonor.org Toyota Supra sustained heavy front-end damage and was forced to retire from the event with only one lap complete, finishing P38.

On the Cup side, Gase posted a lap time of 33.864 seconds in the hectic 10-minute Round 1 qualifying session, securing 36th position on the starting grid. His #66 Donate Life Nevada / NVDonor.org Toyota Camry completed 10 laps before a sudden loss of power from the engine forced Gase to bring the car to the garage. The crew spent a considerable portion of the race diagnosing the issue and determining if they could return to the track without assuming excessive risk in losing the motor. The team hopes to attempt the Fontana, California Cup race with this car in two weeks. Ultimately, MBM retired the car without further laps, finishing 38th, and the team will regroup for their next Cup outing.

Joey Gase's first intermediate track Cup race for
MBM Motorsports ended prematurely due to engine issues.

Before then, the Xfinity Series will run the iK9 Service Dog 200 from ISM Raceway in Avondale, Arizona.

►02/24/2019 - Xfinity Series Atlanta Post-Race Report

The four-car MBM Motorsports Xfinity operation contested the second race of the season at the Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday and recorded the team's second consecutive triple Top 30.

Chad Finchum, after not competing in the season-opening Xfinity race at Daytona one week ago, started his first race of 2019 in the #42 Amana Heating & Air Conditioning / Smithbilt Homes Toyota Supra. He placed inside the Top 25 in both Friday practice sessions, showing enough speed to compete for a spot in Round 2 of qualifying. However, the weather conditions on Saturday morning prevented time trials from taking place, and so Finchum, based on the owner points that the Chip Ganassi #42 accrued last season, lined up second on the grid, easily the best ever starting spot for an MBM Motorsports car in one of the three NASCAR national touring series.

Follow Chad Finchum on Twitter @ChadFinchum.

The 24-year-old Knoxville, Tennessee native drove to a 26th place finish in his 40th series race. Entering Saturday, Finchum only had one previous Atlanta start: he finished 35th in 2018 at the Hampton, Georgia circuit.

MBM had two Toyota Supras and two Toyota Camrys entered at Atlanta. Joey Gase, in the #35 Donate Life Georgia / LifeLink Toyota, drove the second Supra. Gase practiced in the Top 30 in both sessions and lined up 32nd on the grid based on owner points from the #40 car in 2018. He wound up 29th at race's end, his second-best finish at Atlanta and fourth Top 30 in eight starts.

Follow Joey Gase on Twitter @JoeyGaseRacing.

The two MBM Camrys at Atlanta both featured schemes the team campaigned in the second half of last season. Timmy Hill's #66 James Carter Attorney at Law / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota carried the gold and white colors that pay tribute to NASCAR Fall of Famer Benny Parsons' Cup ride from the 1970's. John Jackson's #13 Street Toys / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota wore the Miami Dolphin-esque blue and white that debuted at Indianapolis in 2018.

Of the two MBM Camrys, Hill lead the way in Practice 2, placing 26th, and the 25-year-old started the race from 34th. He would take the checkered flag in 28th, achieving his best Atlanta finish of his five Xfinity starts at this track. Between Finchum, Gase, and Hill, MBM Motorsports earned the company's second triple Top 30 in team history.

Jackson's #13 retired from the race after 14 laps and placed 37th in his third start at Atlanta. The evet was also his 30th Xfinity Series race. Next up, NASCAR's West Coast Swing commences with a trip to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In addition to the Xfinity teams, MBM will return to Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series racing with Joey Gase behind the wheel of the #66 Toyota.

►NASCAR DRIVER TO MEET FANS & CELEBRATE THE GIFT OF LIFE

LifeLink® of Georgia and Donate Life Georgia to host NASCAR XFINITY Series driver Joey Gase to honor organ, eye & tissue donors.

AUGUSTA, GA – Following his mother's death in 2011 of a sudden brain aneurysm, NASCAR driver Joey Gase made the decision to donate her organs, eyes and tissues, which ultimately touched the lives of 66 individuals in desperate need of a transplant. Since then, Gase has become as passionate about donation as he is about racing. In December 2015, he was awarded NASCAR's inaugural COMCAST Community Outreach Award for his work supporting organ, eye and tissue donation and donor families. MBM Motorsports is excited that Gase will pilot the No. 35 entry in the 2019 NASCAR XFINITY Series season.

Atlanta Motor Speedway will soon fill its 110,000 permanent seats with motorsport fans. Meanwhile, over 113,000 men, women and children across the country are waiting for the gift of life through transplantation; over 5,200 wait in Georgia. For the upcoming Rinnai 250 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Gase will race the LifeLink® and Donate Life Georgia #35 car in honor of his mother and others touched by donation and transplantation, like Drew Passmore.

Drew was a passionate young man who never met a stranger, and made a positive impact on many throughout his seventeen years. He loved sports and hunting. An active member of Warren Baptist Church, he did much more than just attend services. He loved to lead and serve others through bible studies, mission trips and through his relationships. Drew passed away in 2017 after a single car accident, and Drew's legacy continued as he saved four lives through organ donation. Drew's picture will be placed on the back panel of the #35 car as a tribute for those whose lives were forever changed by his family's decision to donate life.

On Thursday, February 21, 2019, Gase will visit Augusta Christian Schools, where Drew was a student and athlete, to share his personal experience as a donor family member and honor the life of Drew, and donor families in general. Recipients, donor families, and registered organ donors will be invited to sign and make handprints on Gases' #35 car during a special event called "Handprints of Hope." The personal tributes to organ donors, transplant recipients, those waiting for a transplant and healthcare professionals will ride with Gase on the track during his race as an inspiration for fans about the power of donation. Members of the community are also invited to attend.

►02/17/2019 - Xfinity Series Daytona Post-Race Report

The four-car Xfinity Series operation for MBM Motorsports had a strong showing in the NASCAR Racing Experience 300 at Daytona International Speedway.

Of the four drivers, Timmy Hill had the strongest qualifying performance, earning P22 on the grid for the #66 VSI Racing / Overkill Motorsports Toyota. Joey Gase grabbed P30 in the #35 Medic Air Systems / Agri Supply Toyota, Max Tullman qualified 34th in his first race for MBM in the #13 Zoomi Toyota, and John Jackson took the 37th starting spot in the #42 James Carter Attorney at Law / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota.

Despite the extremely chaotic nature of the Gander Outdoors Truck Series race the night before, the Xfinity field ran a clean race that featured only two natural cautions, including only one for an on-track incident. Hill was the highest placed MBM car for much of the first two stages of the race, but he was the innocent victim of a collision on pit road. #08 Gray Gaulding, attempting to enter his pit during the third caution of the race, got turned sideways by #11 Justin Haley as the two Kaulig Racing cars were attempting to exit their pit stalls. The spinning #08 made contact with the #66 in the right side door, as Hill's car was receiving service in its pit box. The crew made repairs and stayed on the lead lap, but the #66 lost all of its track position as a result.

Joey Gase was the highest placed MBM car at the checkered flag, leading a freight train of about 10 cars across the line. Gase finished 16th, and Hill, racing in the same pack, finished his race in 19th. It was the first time since Daytona July last season that MBM picked up a double Top 20 result.

Max Tullman used a free pass at the lap 72 debris caution to get his #13 Toyota back on the lead lap. He wound up 28th at the checkered, picking up his first lead lap finish. Saturday's race was the first time in team history that MBM scored three lead lap finishes in the same event, and also marked the team's first triple Top 30.

John Jackson brought the #42 car home in 32nd, completing 118 of the 120 possible laps. He equaled his one previous restrictor plate race finish at Talladega in 2016 and was only one position off matching his Xfinity personal best.

The next stop on the NASCAR circuit comes next weekend at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia.

►02/17/2019 - Gander RV Duel Post-Race Report

Joey Gase and the MBM Motorsports crew made a valiant effort all night long in the second Gander RV Duel, trying to find a way to qualify for the 61st Daytona 500, but the #66 Medic Air Systems / Agri Supply Toyota came up a bit short.

Based on qualifying speeds, Gase started his 60 lap Duel from the 21st position. In order to earn a starting spot for the 500, Gase had to finish ahead of the other two Open cars in the event: #27 Casey Mears of Germain Racing and #62 Brendan Gaughan of Beard Motorsports.

The opening 6 laps of the race featured some of the most intense racing action of the night. Gase raced side-by-side with Gaughan for several consecutive laps; both drivers repeatedly side-drafted each other with the intention of slowing the other car down in order to gain control of the transfer spot. Gase did succeed in defending the spot temporarily, but Gaughan eventually found a way past and never relinquished that position.

All of the race leaders made their pit stops before half-distance. After losing the draft, the #66 team decided to employ an alternate strategy to remain on the lead lap for as long as possible in case a caution flag came out. The yellow never came, and so Gase was forced to pit under green by himself. He finished the event in 20th, completing 57 laps, but the #66 did not qualify for the Daytona 500.

►02/12/2019 - Monster Energy Cup Series Daytona Update

Joey Gase was the first driver on track to attempt to qualify for the 61st edition of the Daytona 500. The 25-year-old drove his #66 Medic Air Systems / Agri Supply Toyota to a speed of 180.930 MPH, his fastest lap of Speedweeks to that point.

Gase will race in the second Gander RV Duel race on Thursday. In order to secure one of the two remaining starting spots in the Great American Race, he must finish ahead of the other two open cars in Duel #2: #27 Casey Mears and #62 Brendan Gaughan. Coverage of the twin qualifying races will be carried by FOX Sports 1 on February 14th, beginning at 7:00 pm ET.

►02/12/2019 - MBM to Field Four Xfinity Cars at Daytona

The 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series season commences with the Racing Experience 300 from Daytona International Speedway on February 16th, and the MBM Motorsports team will attempt to qualify four cars and drivers into Saturday's 300-miler.

As announced last month at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Joey Gase will contest the full Xfinity schedule in the #35. His Daytona ride will feature sponsorship from local Port Orange, FL-based company Medic Air Systems, Inc., as well as Agri Supply and Eternal Fan. In his 13 previous Xfinity Daytona starts, Gase has a best finish of 7th and two Top 10s, both coming in 2017.

Timmy Hill returns to MBM for the 2019 season, and his first outing this season will be in the #66 VSI Racing / Overkill Motorsports Toyota. This car will be run through the same partnership between MBM and NXT Motorsports as at Talladega and Daytona July in 2018. In this alliance's last outing, Hill scored a phenomenal 7th place finish, matching his career-best result. This Speedweeks will be Hill's seventh Xfinity race at Daytona.

In addition to the #35, MBM has another new car number in its stables in 2019. The #42, used last season by Chip Ganassi Racing, will be piloted at Daytona by John Jackson. A native of Carluke, Scotland, Jackson is seeking his 29th Xfinity series start but first at Daytona and only his second start in a restrictor plate race. The #42 Toyota is expected to carry sponsorship from CrashClaimsR.US and James Carter, Attorney at Law.

MBM's four car Xfinity Daytona lineup will be completed by a new addition to the team: Max Tullman. The 21-year-old driver made eight starts in the ARCA Racing Series in 2018, racking up three Top 10s and six Top 15s, including a 6th place result at Daytona. Tullman started three Camping World Truck races in 2018 for Young's Motorsports, with a best finish of 9th in the restrictor plate race at Talladega. In addition to these, he also qualified for his first three Xfinity events for a startup operation, Tullman Walker Racing, twice advancing into the second round of qualifying. For Speedweeks, Tullman will attempt to qualify the #13 Zoomi Toyota in his first event with MBM.

Chad Finchum is still an integral part of the MBM Motorsports operation and will return to the driver's seat at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, site of the next NASCAR race weekend following Daytona.

►01/16/2019 - Joey Gase Joins MBM for 2019

MBM Motorsports is rapidly growing in preparation for what is expected to be the group's most competitive season in team history. Today at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, MBM revealed that Joey Gase, from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, will pilot the #35 Toyota Supra full-time in the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series. The 25-year-old will also campaign the #66 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series car for MBM on a part-time basis, beginning with the season opening Daytona 500.

Gase has already amassed 240 starts across the Top 3 national series of NASCAR, including 208 at the Xfinity level. He has competed full-time in the series through the last five consecutive seasons. He has three Top 10s, seven Top 15s, and 23 Top 20s to date, with his five best results all coming on 2.5-mile tracks or larger. On the Cup side, Gase has 30 starts to date, with one Daytona 500 already completed in 2017. He will be seeking his second Daytona 500 start but already his seventh restrictor plate track start in the premier series when he attempts to qualify the #66 in February.

Debuting on the #35 Toyota Supra at the Hall of Fame was Eternal Fan, a company that partners with race tracks and other sports facilities to create custom-designed plans for enhanced fan engagement over multiple generations. Gase's rides will feature the logos of Eternal Fan, along with support from Donate Life, Medline, Agri Supply, Page Construction, and Pro Master.

In addition to Gase's entries, MBM will be fielding multiple additional Xfinity cars at Daytona during Speedweeks. Those plans will be revealed in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
