►11/08/2020 - Cup Phoenix Results

The 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season drew to a conclusion with the running of the Season Finale 500 at Phoenix Raceway, which played host to NASCAR championship weekend for the first time. Starting from 33rd, Timmy Hill fought an ill-handling #66 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry for the majority of the event, as the car grew increasingly more loose as the laps went on in Stage 1. Despite multiple major adjustments at several pit stops, the car remained on the free side for the duration of the 500 kilometer event. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native also had to overcome a power steering failure prior to the competition caution, forcing him to bring the #66 to the attention of his pit crew under green. The MBM mechanics made repairs and got the power steering restored, enabling Hill to continue.

Most of the remainder of the afternoon was a test of perseverance, but Hill got his RoofClaim.com machine to the checkered flag on track, ending the season on a streak of four consecutive finishes on track. The 27-year-old completed his first full-time season in the premier series with a 36th place result, in a year in which he scored the second and third Top 20 Cup finishes of his career. The MBM #66 team finished 2020 with nine Top 30 race results and a 37th place finish in the owner points standings, beating the chartered #51 car fielded by Rick Ware Racing, in its first full season of Cup competition.

►11/08/2020 - Xfinity Phoenix Results

The season finale for the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series took place at Phoenix Raceway, site of the Desert Diamond Casino West Valley 200.

Timmy Hill raced the #13 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry, beginning his event from the 19th position. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native was "way too tight in the center" early on, causing him to fall to P30 by the competition caution. His MBM Motorsports crew made adjustments throughout the event to help, and Hill methodically worked his way back through the field. After finishing Stage 1 in P27, Hill got himself up to 24th by the fifth caution flag and then to P22 by the end of Stage 2, still on the lead lap. The #13 team pitted at the stage break with the other lead lap cars, but then made an additional trip down pit road late in the yellow to top the car off with fuel. That strategy decision paid off well, as the #13 team was one of the cars who had yet to pit when #08 Joe Graf Jr. brought out a caution flag 72 laps into the green flag run. Deteriorating front braking capability prevented Hill from racing hard for position in the final laps, but he did still get the car home in 23rd place, securing the #13 team its 22nd Top 25 of the season from 33 races. The #13 team tied two other organizations for 25th place in the team owner points (JD Motorsports #6 and B.J. McLeod Motorsports #5), but based on the tiebreaker of season-best race result, the #13 will end up 26th in the order.

J.J. Yeley, now an extremely experienced NASCAR driver, competed with MBM Motorsports for the first time at Phoenix. Yeley has an open-wheel racing background, including scoring a Top 10 finish in the 1998 Indianapolis 500, but is now a veteran of more than 690 stock car starts across the Top 3 divisions of NASCAR. Making his 335th Xfinity start on Saturday, Yeley drove his #61 WORKPRO Tools Toyota Camry from the 34th starting spot. The Phoenix, Arizona native, racing at his home track, picked up seven positions in the first eight laps and entered the Top 25 by lap 11. He ran in 24th at the competition caution, and after pitting for a track bar and wedge adjustment, appeared set to challenge for a Top 20 run.

That opportunity got sideswiped when #90 Donald Theetge dove to the inside of the #61 car entering Turn 1, made contact with the left rear quarterpanel of Yeley's car, and initiated a four-car pileup that included Yeley spinning into the outside retaining wall. The MBM team repaired the #61 car to the best of their abilities under the NASCAR Damaged Vehicle Policy, and Yeley got the car back up above the minimum speed requirement when the race went back green. He finished Stage 1 in 30th and Stage 2 in 26th, but fought a car that was "snappy, darty" on exit, likely a consequence of the damage sustained in the earlier incident. Late in the race, Yeley struggled with a tight condition and heavily worn front tires, though he was able to get the car to the checkered flag in P26. The season-long collaboration between Hattori Racing Enterprises and MBM to field the #61 team full-time paid off with a 23rd place result in the season-long owner point standings, beating the Martins Motorsports #44 by a solitary point.

Stan Mullis made his first Xfinity Series start of the season in the last race of the year, driving the #66 Sharelife Vacations Toyota Camry from 37th on the starting grid. Mullis put together a really good opening two stages in his first start since Richmond in September 2019, taking advantage of two free pass awards to finish both on the lead lap. The Las Vegas, Nevada native placed 28th in Stage 1, 23rd in Stage 2, and ran in the Top 25 until the very final laps, when he ran out of fuel. Mullis got to his pit box, but he lost several laps while trying to get the car refired. Eventually the car restarted, and Mullis rejoined the field on track for the finish. Despite the late setback, he got the #66 car to the end in P28, matching the second-best result of his 11-race Xfinity career to date. It was also the sixth finish on track for the #66 team this season and its sixth Top 30.

►11/08/2020 - Cup Martinsville Results

Timmy Hill made his seventh NASCAR Cup Series start at the 0.526-mile Martinsville Speedway in the Xfinity 500, the penultimate race of the 2020 premier series schedule. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native started in the 34th position, a personal-best at this track in Cup, and reported within the first five laps of the race that his #66 DreamWorks Motorsports Toyota Camry was "really tight everywhere." The crew made adjustments that got the car to the free side by the end of the stint, enabling Hill to battle for the free pass position late in Stage 1 and in Stage 2. The 27-year-old finished Stage 1 in P33 and had broken into the Top 30 around the seventh yellow flag of the day. Hill overtook #27 J.J. Yeley in the final green flag run of Stage 2, securing a P29 stage result and the free pass position, which restored him to the lead lap for the beginning of Stage 3.

The team had planned to make a green flag pit stop for fuel around lap 385, but near disaster struck just about 30 circuits prior. The #66 machine cut down a right rear tire under green. The spotter reported hearing a "pop," so the crew concluded the sudden loss of pressure was likely due to a puncture from some debris on track. Fortunately, Hill kept the car out of the wall, but his reduced pace triggered a yellow flag from NASCAR. The MBM team had to make one more pit stop for fuel, which came under the yellow for a stalled #53 James Davison. Hill took the wavearound at the 12th and final caution flag of the event, ending up on a lap by himself.

The racing intensity for the #66 car picked up again in the final 20 laps. Hill radioed in that he was starting to lose braking performance entering the corners, but an unscheduled pit stop for #48 Jimmie Johnson in the very late laps suddenly put the seven-time Cup champion on the same lap as the #66 for the finish. With 4 laps to go, the spotter alerted Hill that Johnson was on the same straightaway as the MBM driver, but while managing fading brakes, Hill kept up enough pace in his #66 car to hold on for a P29 finish at the checkered flag, ahead of the #48.

Hill scored a personal-best at Martinsville, bettering a 33rd place run for Rick Ware Racing in 2017. The MBM Cup program recorded its 9th Top 30 finish on the season on Sunday, including three of the last five races. P29 is a team-best at Martinsville, improving over a P36 by team owner Carl Long in 2017.

►11/08/2020 - Xfinity Martinsville Results

The NASCAR Xfinity Series made its first appearance since 2006, and just its second appearance since 1994, at the famed 0.526-mile Martinsville Speedway with the running of the Draft Top 250.

Fresh off of a lead lap, 14th place run in his own #56 Hill Motorsports truck on Friday night, Timmy Hill drove the #13 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry from the 34th starting spot. The 27-year-old had to overcome some handling challenges with his car early in the event, finishing Stage 1 in 34th but securing the free pass to return to the lead lap for the start of Stage 2. Hill had maneuvered his way up to 25th by lap 95 and was running in 23rd place when the caution flag came out for fluid on track from the failed engine of #5 Matt Mills. The MBM #13 crew decided to stay out under the yellow, vaulting the RoofClaim.com machine up to P9 on track. Hill chose the outside lane, letting him take the restart from the outside of Row 4, and the 27-year-old successfully got the car to the Stage 2 green-and-white checkered flag up in 10th place, picking up a stage point for his effort.

The Port Tobacco, Maryland native stayed inside the Top 25 for most all of Stage 3. Hill did lose one lap to the leaders during the 44-lap green flag run, but the #13 team was able to take the wavearound and thereafter stayed on the lead lap. On the final 30 lap run to the finish, Hill settled into P19 before overtaking #26 Mason Diaz. With seven laps to go, Hill found his way past #92 Josh Williams and held off a charging #68 Brandon Brown in the final laps to score a 17th place, lead lap finish for the #13 RoofClaim.com Toyota. It was the eighth Top 20 finish of 2020 for the #13 team, as well as their eighth lead lap result.

MBM Motorsports team owner Carl Long made his first NASCAR national series start of the season at Martinsville, racing the #66 DreamWorks Motorsports / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry. Long and J.J. Yeley were the only two drivers in the field racing on Saturday that drove in the last series race here back in 2006. The Roxboro, North Carolina started from 37th place and fought being "way, way tight in the center" early. Long was up to P34 and on the lead lap at the competition caution, but trouble struck at his pit stop, as NASCAR held the #66 a lap for the car being serviced outside of its pit box. Chassis adjustments, a rearwards brake bias change, and backing his corner entry up all helped the 53-year-old to improve his lap times. He finished Stage 1 in P35 and Stage 2 in P34. The #66 did take advantage of a wavearound opportunity in Stage 3, but Long spent most of the late race running on a lap by himself. By the checkered flag, he had advanced up to 32nd position and recorded just the fifth on track finish for the #66 team in 2020. Long, now a veteran of 128 Xfinity races, got to the finish for the 16th time in his driving career. He also keeps a streak alive of starting at least one Xfinity Series event as a driver every year since 2010.

Chad Finchum, a short track specialist, was excited to race at Martinsville driving the #61 American Dream Leasing and Financing Toyota Camry, however, the race did not go according to plan. The Knoxville, Tennessee driver started P32 but had already lost two laps by the competition caution due to extended stays on pit road. The #61 machine was "super tight" and to make matters worse, the motor dropped a cylinder in the early going. The 26-year-old was forced to the garage early in Stage 3. His MBM crew went to work under the hood and tried to get the car back in the race, but after pulling back onto the race track, a fire broke out and filled the cockpit with smoke. Finchum parked the car near the entrance to pit road and exited the vehicle uninjured, but his day was ended on the spot with 120 laps complete. He finished 37th in his final Xfinity race of 2020.

►10/28/2020 - Cup Texas Results

The NASCAR Cup Series needed a stretch of four calendar days to complete the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway, an event that will likely be remembered for its seemingly never-ending weather delays. Persistent thick mist and cold ambient temperatures around the Dallas-Fort Worth area made track drying efforts an agonizingly slow process. Both MBM Motorsports cars were running on the lead lap after 52 circuits had been completed on Sunday, when NASCAR displayed the red flag for moisture and deteriorating track conditions. The industry needed until Wednesday afternoon to get the race restarted, but eventually, the 500-mile event resumed and ran to completion, following a 72 hour, 28 minute red flag period.

Timmy Hill came from P36 on the grid in his #66 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry and held 31st place at the red flag for conditions that spanned multiple days. He finished Stage 1 in P32 and the free pass position, restoring the Port Tobacco, Maryland native to the lead lap. Hill asked for a little bit of help with handling on corner entry, but generally was satisfied with the balance of his RoofClaim.com machine throughout the race. The #66 finished Stage 2 in P32 as well, still on the same lap as #7 Josh Bilicki and #53 Garrett Smithley. Once the field took the restart, Stage 3 ran in its entirely under the green flag. Hill overtook Smithley in Stage 3 and got his car home in 30th place, easily the best finish for an MBM Cup car at Texas Motor Speedway. The 27-year-old driver also reset his personal-best Cup result at this track, improving on a P35 in the Circle Sport #33 in 2014.

Chad Finchum, making his fourth start in the premier series and third in the last five Cup race weekends, started the #49 Sharelife Vacations / Octane Mania / LasVegas.net Toyota Camry on Sunday from 40th position. The Knoxville, Tennessee native had a solid opening stint to the race, remaining in P33 and still on the lead lap by the lengthy red flag. Finchum showed decent speed immediately after the race resumed, but then late in Stage 1, felt something awry in the right front corner of the car. The team also expressed concern over a motor issue. Finchum brought the car to the attention of his MBM crew under green near the end of Stage 1 and then again under the stage caution, where the team opened the hood and checked for major mechanical issues. The 26-year-old was able to continue, eventually getting his car to the checkered flag in P35. It is the first time in his brief Cup career that Finchum has completed a premier series event on track, as well as the first time the second MBM entry has reached the checkered flag since its debut at Kansas in 2019, with Joey Gase running #46.

Entering the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500, MBM Motorsports had a best finish at this circuit of 36th, recorded by Timmy Hill earlier in 2020. With their Wednesday results, MBM picked up their first two Top 35s and first Top 30 at Texas.

►10/27/2020 - Xfinity Texas Results

The O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 at the Texas Motor Speedway was not kind to the NASCAR Xfinity Series entries of Hattori Racing Enterprises (HRE) nor MBM Motorsports. HRE fielded the #61 AISIN Group Toyota Supra for Austin Hill, one of eight drivers still in contention for the 2020 NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series points championship. The Winston, Georgia native started from the 14th spot at Texas, looking to build on his career-best P5 in the last intermediate track race, just one week prior at Kansas. Hill, in his final Xfinity start of the season and tenth series race overall, appeared set to compete for another Top 15 finish, before a suspension failure early in Stage 3 sent the 26-year-old to the garage. The #61 team finished in 33rd, completing 107 laps in the race.

Chad Finchum piloted the #66 Garrison Homes / Octane Mania Toyota Supra from the 35th starting position. The Knoxville, Tennessee native completed 55 laps in the race, but he had to retire the car early in Stage 2 when an issue with the fuel pump arose. Finchum finished 34th in his sixth Xfinity race at Texas, site of his career-best on an intermediate track.

Timmy Hill began his race in the #13 RoofClaim.com Toyota Supra from the 25th starting spot, but a crankshaft failure in the engine early in Stage 1 sent the Port Tobacco, Maryland native to the garage with just six laps complete. In his 14th series start at Texas, Hill finished 36th.

►10/20/2020 - Cup Kansas Results

The 2020 NASCAR Cup Series has just three races remaining after the running of the Hollywood Casino 400 at the Kansas Speedway.

Timmy Hill made his 125th premier series start, and 12th at Kansas, driving the #66 James Carter Attorney at Law / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry for MBM Motorsports. The 27-year-old rolled off 37th from the starting grid and fought an overall decline in grip as the tires wore out. The driver reported the car was freeing up deeper into a run, so the crew made adjustments to improve the handling of the car. Hill finished Stage 1 in P36. He caught a good break in Stage 2 with the timing of the yellow for #42 Matt Kenseth, as the caution flag flew just moments ahead of a scheduled green flag pit stop for the #66. This gained Hill a lap on his immediate rivals, and he converted that into a P34 Stage 2 finish, on the same lap as #00 Quin Houff and #53 James Davison. In Stage 3, the #66 team was again able to make their scheduled pit stop under yellow, this time brought out by #8 Tyler Reddick. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native got the car to the finish in 34th position, the best Kansas finish for the MBM Cup program since Hill managed 32nd place in May 2018. It is also the first time the #66 has reached the checkered flag of a non-drafting track race since Race 1 of the Dover doubleheader on August 22nd.

Knoxville, Tennessee racer Chad Finchum made his third career NASCAR Cup Series start behind the wheel of the #49 Sharelife Vacations / LasVegas.net Toyota Camry. MBM supporters may recognize Sharelife Vacations from early this season, when they sponsored the #13 Xfinity car that Finchum drove at Phoenix back in March. The 26-year-old started in 40th place. Without practice or qualifying, Finchum worked his way up to speed steadily. By the competition caution, he reported that his car was really tight. The team pitted for fuel and adjustments but chose to save their sticker tires for the Stage 1 break. Unfortunately, within 10 laps of the Stage 1 end, Finchum radioed in that he had a bad vibration, forcing him to make an unscheduled green flag pit stop around lap 76. The driver correctly felt his right rear tire going flat, necessitating the pit stop, but this left him a lap behind his nearest competitors for position. The #49 team pitted again at the stage break, this time making major adjustments, including packer, track bar, and tire pressure changes. Both driver and chassis showed improved pace in Stage 2, but they again experienced poor timing with a caution flag. Moments after their Stage 2 green flag pit stop, the yellow came out for #42 Matt Kenseth. Finchum finished Stage 2 in 38th place and looked to make another step forward in lap time in Stage 3, but coming to the restart from the stage break, the transmission locked up on the #49 car. Finchum headed behind the wall with 154 laps recorded, finishing 39th.

►10/20/2020 - Xfinity Kansas Results

The Kansas Lottery 300 at the Kansas Speedway for the NASCAR Xfinity Series was particularly successful for the #61 team, a number that has been fielded by both Hattori Racing Enterprises (HRE) and MBM Motorsports in the 2020 season. HRE prepared the car for Kansas, giving Winston, Georgia native Austin Hill an excellent #61 Toyota Tsusho Toyota Supra. From 29th on the starting grid, Hill carved through the field, reaching P12 by the competition caution. He scored a stage point with P10 in Stage 2, took both of the final two restarts of the race in P3, and reached the checkered flag in P5, a career-best for the 26-year-old in the Xfinity Series.

The primary, independent MBM car at Kansas was piloted by Timmy Hill. The #13 RoofClaim.com Toyota Supra started in the 31st position and rapidly advanced through the field, as Hill drove to 19th place by the competition caution. The driver reported his car was loose getting back to the throttle early in the event. Hill finished P25 in Stage 1, on the lead lap, and took the green-and-white checkered flag of Stage 2 in P23. Those consistent stage results masked a fairly eventful night for Hill behind the wheel. Even before the competition yellow, Hill said his motor seemed a bit weak on power, and around lap 41, he radioed in that his gauges had gone “haywire.” Then, entering Turn 3 on the first lap after the restart to begin Stage 2, the #13 car took contact in the right rear from a spinning #0 Jeffrey Earnhardt. Fortunately, the RoofClaim.com machine received minimal damage, and Hill avoided suffering a cut tire. Concern spiked again late in the race, when coming to one of the final restarts, Hill expressed major concern over a clutch issue. Despite this and a set of extremely worn tires, the Port Tobacco, Maryland native did get the car to the finish in 22nd position, scoring his 16th Xfinity Top 25 of 2020. The #13 team has earned Top 25 finishing positions in five of the last six and eight of the last ten series races.

Stephen Leicht had an unusual start to his race in the #66 Jani-King Toyota Supra, as he lost two laps immediately, going behind the wall before the green flag to start the race. A throttle pedal issue had to be resolved behind the wall, but the MBM crew worked quickly to get him back on track. The Asheville, North Carolina driver was the free pass recipient on both of the first two caution flags in the race, restoring the #66 car to the lead lap. Leicht ran in the 32nd position at the competition caution and took the Stage 1 finish in P31. However, a fuel pump failure after 59 laps sent the #66 car behind the wall. Leicht was running on the lead lap in 30th at the time, but by the checkered flag he ended up 35th in the finishing order.

►10/18/2020 - Cup Charlotte Roval Results

The MBM Motorsports NASCAR Cup Series program had a day to remember at the Charlotte Roval, despite not recording a representative finish. This year marked the third running of the Bank of America Roval 400 on the infield road course at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, but 2020 was the first time at this circuit that the drivers and teams of the premier series had to race in wet conditions.

Rain did not arrive during the actual race, but heavy precipitation the morning of the event meant the entire Cup field started on wet weather, treaded Goodyear tires. Timmy Hill rolled off the grid in P27, a season-best starting spot, based on the NASCAR performance metric and his Top 15 finish at Talladega the previous week. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native drove conservatively up until the lap 10 competition caution, minimizing his risk taken in unfamiliar driving conditions for stock cars.

Follow MBM Motorsports on Twitter @MBMMotorsports.

At the competition caution, every team up and down the pit lane had a strategy decision to make. The majority of the circuit was drying quickly, but certain corners still retained considerable moisture, especially in the infield. The cross-over point, when dry/slick tires start to offer better performance than the wet/treaded tires was likely to occur sometime over the ensuing green flag run, but anyone who pitted for slicks at the competition caution would have to survive the still damp track until that point. Hill and MBM were one of about a half-dozen teams that changed to slick tires under the competition yellow, and it proved to be a brilliant move.

Like and Follow MBM Motorsports on Facebook @MBMMotorsports.

Hill ran 37th on lap 14, but he kept the car on the track, and by lap 17 or so, the gamble to dry tires began to pay huge dividends. The #66 had advanced to 29th by the end of lap 17 and entered the Top 20 by the end of lap 18. All of the drivers still on wets were now at a huge pace deficit and needed to stop under green for dry tires. Hill entered the Top 10 by lap 20 and had vaulted all the way up to 6th position when a yellow flag came out late in the stage for #38 John Hunter Nemechek.

NASCAR got the race restarted with one lap remaining in Stage 1, and Hill drove a brilliant lap to hang on to his strong track position, including making a pass in the infield section on #21 Matt DiBenedetto. Hill took the green-and-white checkered flag in an astonishing 5th position, easily the best-ever stage result for an MBM Cup car and picking up six stage points for the #66 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry.

Unfortunately, Hill had no opportunity to back up his phenomenal Stage 1 through the balance of the race. Even in the early laps, Hill had reported no power from the engine under partial throttle. This issue preceded what was ultimately an engine failure in the early laps of Stage 3. The 27-year-old retired the car after 57 laps and finished 38th, a disappointing end to an otherwise huge day for the RoofClaim.com machine.

►10/18/2020 - Xfinity Charlotte Roval Results

The Drive For the Cure 250 contested by the NASCAR Xfinity Series at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval, or the infield 2.28-mile road course, was one of the most chaotic and memorable stock car races in recent history due to the extreme weather conditions faced by the drivers and teams throughout the event. The race started in the dry, but less than 15 laps into the event, the conditions rapidly deteriorated with torrential rain arriving. Quickly, puddling became a big problem in certain corners of the infield, as well as the frontstretch chicane. NASCAR eventually had to red flag the race to clear standing water from the circuit. Rain continued intermittently throughout the remainder of the event, picking up again near the finish. Daylight was also fading fast as the finish approached, leaving many drivers to report near zero visibility in the final laps.

Follow MBM Motorsports on Instagram @mbmmotorsports.

MBM Motorsports had mixed results through the madness of the 68-lap event. Timmy Hill wound up with the best team result, piloting the #66 LeithCars.com Toyota Supra. Hill started in 20th place and stayed in or very near the Top 20 while the circuit remained dry. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native struggled for pace once the rain arrived, falling to the rear of the field, but crucially he kept the car on the circuit and out of trouble. As his rival drivers made frequent mistakes, Hill capitalized and methodically advanced back through the field. The 27-year-old finished Stage 1 in 31st, ran 28th at the mid-race red flag for conditions, and took P22 in Stage 2. Hill ran in 20th place at the end of lap 50 and avoided the late-race chaos to capture a 19th place result. The driver scored his ninth Xfinity Top 20 of the year and the third Top 20 for the #66 car. With the result from the Roval, the #66 team has been running at the finish four times this season, and all four times, they have finished on the lead lap.

Stephen Leicht returned to the seat of the #13 Jani-King Toyota Camry at the Charlotte Roval, with regular driver Chad Finchum serving as one of his spotters for the event. Leicht began his race from 28th place and had a brilliant opening stint, slicing through the field to take a P15 Stage 1 finish. The Asheville, North Carolina driver still ran 15th at the mid-race red flag. His great run to that point hit a major roadblock on the last lap of Stage 2, when the #13 car ran out of fuel on track. This left Leicht in P28 at the end of Stage 2, and he fell off the lead lap while he and the crew tried to get the car refired.

Like and Follow MBM Motorsports on Facebook @MBMMotorsports.

Fortunately, a caution flag came out around lap 48 for a stalled car, enabling Leicht to pick up the free pass and be restored to the lead lap. Due to the quick caution and the length of the circuit, the #13 car was still 26.4 seconds behind the leader when the race restarted, but despite this, Leicht still advanced from 26th place up to 21st by the next yellow. Now caught up to the pack, Leicht took the restart in 20th and completed the very next lap up in 15th place. By lap 63, he had reached 14th place, but thereafter his race unraveled. Between falling rain, a badly fogged up windshield, and impending darkness, visibility had been reduced to almost nothing. Exiting Turn 1, Leicht made heavy contact with the spun car of #18 Riley Herbst, and exiting the frontstretch chicane, he made further contact with a slow #7 Justin Allgaier, who was attempting to rejoin after missing the chicane. These impacts broke the right front suspension, and Leicht was left to limp his damaged car around to the finish. The 33-year-old still got the car home on the lead lap in P24. Leicht picked up his sixth Top 25 of the season, including four on road courses.

Austin Hill made his third consecutive start in the #61 AISIN Group Toyota Supra for Hattori Racing Enterprises. The Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series Playoff driver started from 27th place, but he crashed out of the event after 13 laps. The 26-year-old was one of four drivers (#5 Matt Mills, #6 Ryan Vargas, and #44 Tommy Joe Martins) who all had incidents at the same corner on the same lap in the infield section, and Hill was among three from that group that aquaplaned off the circuit, straight into the tire barrier, due to the amount of standing water on track. The #61 car ended up 36th in the final classification.

►10/18/2020 - Cup Talladega Results

A wild, multiple-overtime YellaWood 500 at the Talladega Superspeedway provided a huge opportunity for smaller NASCAR Cup Series teams to earn big results. MBM Motorsports capitalized, achieving the second-best premier series result in team history.

Timmy Hill drove the #66 Trump 2020 / Patriots of America Ford Mustang in a one-race partnership with Go Fas Racing, while RoofClaim.com remained onboard as a major associate sponsor. The chassis was the same Ford that Hill drove into the Top 10 in the early laps of the Daytona 500 earlier this season.

The Port Tobacco, Maryland native stayed out of the chaotic lead draft for much of the first two stages, successfully avoiding several multi-car incidents. He finished Stage 1 in P24 and Stage 2 in P26, but Hill began drafting more aggressively in Stage 3. By the time the field had strung out into a mostly single-file formation around lap 140, Hill had risen to P16.

The MBM pit crew took care of a couple mechanical issues on pit stops, including securing the right-side window after a supporting brace broke and getting a shifter ball replacement. The team decided to wait an extra lap under the first caution flag of Stage 3 before pitting, staying out and officially leading lap 149 of the event. It was especially significant for the driver, as Hill led his first official lap of premier series competition in his 123rd Cup start.

Inside the final 15 laps of regulation, Hill maintained a Top 20 position, fighting to advance into the Top 15. The team had enough fuel for about five additional laps beyond the scheduled 500-mile distance and took what ended up being the penultimate restart all the way up in 8th position. Another wreck brought the yellow back out before the field could take the white flag, and the 27-year-old had to bring his Ford down pit road to get a splash of fuel for yet another overtime attempt. The #66 crossed the finish line in 17th place on the road, but two violations of the yellow-line rule for drivers in front promoted Hill to P15 in the final classification. That marks the best high-banked superspeedway finish for both Hill and MBM, as well as the second Top 15 and third Top 20 for both driver and team. The #66 car picked up its second Top 20 of the season (19th at Bristol) and its third Top 25 of 2020 (24th at Daytona).

►10/18/2020 - Xfinity Talladega Results

The revised 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic featured a rare October Talladega race, marking the first time ever the Xfinity teams have competed twice at the 2.66-mile superspeedway in a single season and bringing the total number of restrictor plate races to four this year. MBM Motorsports took full advantage of the opportunity in the Ag-Pro 300, scoring just the second-ever double Top 15 in team history (previous: Daytona 2018).

Chad Finchum had an outstanding drive in the #13 RoofClaim.com Toyota Supra. The 26-year-old finished both of the opening two stages in P21 and frequently ran inside the Top 20, especially in Stage 3. Finchum had worked his way well inside the Top 15 in the final laps: the Knoxville, Tennessee driver ran in 13th place through 100 laps, and with 5 circuits remaining, he had elevated the #13 car up to 11th position. He got shuffled back to P18 at the white flag, but a large, multi-car incident broke out on the backstretch of the final lap. Finchum dove down to the apron of the race track, narrowly avoiding a spinning #20 Harrison Burton to his right. His quick reactions paid off in an enormous way, as Finchum drove the car back to the checkered flag undamaged and in a phenomenal 12th position. The post-race disqualification of a competitor elevated the #13 team up to 11th place, securing Finchum an Xfinity career-best race result, bettering another restrictor-plate finish: P14 at Daytona in July of 2018. The result secures his third career Top 15 and tenth career lead lap finish in the Xfinity Series. The #13 team took home their seventh Top 20 of the season, as well as their second Top 15, scoring both in the last three races (Bristol).

Port Tobacco, Maryland native Timmy Hill slid behind the wheel of the #66 James Carter Attorney at Law / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Supra at Talladega, and he got the #66 car to its first on-track checkered flag since Finchum finished on the lead lap at the Indianapolis Road Course back on July 4th. Hill finished Stage 1 in a conservative 29th place, but thereafter began to move forward, taking the green-and-white checkered flag of Stage 2 in 19th position. The 27-year-old lost the lead draft in the final few laps of the event, but he stayed at the front of the second pack that had formed. Hill picked his way through the last lap carnage cleanly and took the checkered flag in P15, which became 14th place after post-race technical inspection. The #66 team recorded their second Top 15 of 2020, adding to their tremendous 3rd place finish in the season opener at Daytona. Hill earned his 8th Xfinity Top 20 of the year and his 13th career Top 15.

Hattori Racing Enterprises ran the #61 AISIN Group Toyota Supra for Austin Hill at Talladega. The Winston, Georgia native had a difficult day after starting 18th. Hill made contact with #18 Riley Herbst in Stage 2, spinning Herbst into the inside wall at the exit of Turn 4. Less than 35 laps later, Hill was one of numerous cars attempting to make green flag pit stops, when the #61 car got ran over from behind, spinning Hill himself into the inside wall beyond Turn 4. The 26-year-old sustained a big frontal impact into the wall but did climb out of the car uninjured. With 75 laps complete, Hill ended up finishing 33rd.

►10/17/2020 - Cup Las Vegas Results

MBM Motorsports qualified and fielded two Cup cars in a full-points premier series event for just the second time in team history, and the first time in 2020, in the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Unfortunately, mechanical gremlins prevented both cars from scoring strong results. Timmy Hill continued his full-time campaign in the #66 James Carter Attorney at Law / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry, starting in the 36th position. He settled into P35 in the opening laps of the race, reporting his car was a touch free everywhere, before suddenly diving for pit road. The driver felt something wrong, suspecting a possible tire down or a larger mechanical problem. The crew diagnosed a right-rear axle failure that sent Hill to the garage before the competition caution. MBM made repairs and returned the #66 car to the race, albeit many laps down. Midway through Stage 3, the Port Tobacco, Maryland native came over the radio to say something felt majorly wrong in the rear of the car, possibly an issue with the rear end housing. Hill limped the car around for a few more laps to overtake the retired entry of #8 Tyler Reddick before quickly going behind the wall himself. The #66 finished 37th with 160 laps complete, officially retired due to a rear end issue.

Chad Finchum returned to the #49 Cup car for the second time in 2020, but the Knoxville, Tennessee native did get to start his first premier series race of the season after failing to qualify for the Daytona 500. Finchum did have one prior Cup points race to his credit, competing at Bristol in April of 2018 and finishing 33rd. His entry at Las Vegas utilized the same chassis that Hill ran at Darlington, and it still carried the 1984 "Skoal Bandit"/Phil Parsons tribute. Finchum rolled the #49 RoofClaim.com / LasVegas.net Toyota Camry from 39th. With no practice time available and his last Cup start a couple of seasons back, Finchum methodically worked his way up to speed, but mechanical problems stuck early. On lap 15, the driver radioed in that the engine was "missing really bad" and that it was "sputtering all over the racetrack." The water temperature had gotten high, so the crew removed all the tape from the nose under an unscheduled green flag pit stop, but shortly after returning the #49 to the track, the car quit running completely while on the frontstretch. Finchum limped the car to the garage with 19 laps complete and a terminal engine problem, finishing 39th.

►10/17/2020 - Xfinity Las Vegas Results

Hattori Racing Enterprises stepped back in to field the #61 Weins Canada Toyota Supra in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the Alsco 300. Austin Hill, one of ten Playoff drivers in the Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series, started his fifth Xfinity race of the year from 27th place. The Winston, Georgia driver spun off of Turn 2 in Stage 1, bringing out the second caution flag of the race, but recovered nicely to finish up in 17th position, bringing home a solid points day for the #61 team. The 26-year-old picked up his fourth Xfinity Top 20 finish through six series starts.

Timmy Hill drove the primary, independent MBM Motorsports entry in Las Vegas, the #13 RoofClaim.com Toyota Supra. The Port Tobacco, Maryland driver rolled off the starting grid in P21, a personal-best starting spot at this track he earned through the NASCAR performance matrix and his impressive Top 15 finish at Bristol in the previous race. The 27-year-old fought a loose handling condition in Stage 1, but still demonstrated good pace and completed the segment in P22. Trouble struck in Stage 2, as Hill had to bring the #13 down pit road under green for an unscheduled pit stop to correct a loose wheel. This relegated Hill to a P31 Stage 2 result, but he was able to take the wavearound during the stage break. Frustratingly, another loose wheel in Stage 3 prevented Hill from fighting for a Top 25 finish. The #13 team was able to take another wavearound late in the race that ensured they would finish in front of #90 Dexter Bean, who they had been competing against the prior run. Hill ended up 28th at the checkered flag, his fourth Top 30 Xfinity result at Las Vegas through seven starts.

Chad Finchum slid over to the #66 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry for the Alsco 300 after scoring a Top 20 the week before at Bristol. The Knoxville, Tennessee driver started 36th and made 36 laps before heading to the garage with a suspension issue. Finchum finished 35th in his sixth Las Vegas start in the series.

►10/17/2020 - Cup Bristol Results

Timmy Hill showed decent pace in the Bass Pro Shops / NRA Night Race, but a repeat of his heroics from the May Bristol race, in which he finished 19th, was not to be, especially once mechanical problems arose.

MBM Motorsports fielded the #66 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry at the Bristol Motor Speedway, site of the conclusion of the opening round of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. Hill started 38th in the full 40-car field, and immediately advanced up to 34th by lap 5. He earned a P32 Stage 1 finish, running on the same lap as #00 Quin Houff of StarCom Racing. Hill battled Houff for track position much of the night. The #66 was able to take the wavearound at the end of Stage 2 and would have been fighting for a Top 30 finish when he had to make an unscheduled green flag pit stop early in Stage 3. Hill reported that the car would not turn and asked the team to check the steering box. It turned out the driver nailed the diagnosis, as the steering box ripped the mount out of the frame horn, and Hill pitting when he did likely saved the team a significant accident. The 27-year-old was out of the race after 313 laps, finishing 37th in his seventh Cup start at Bristol.

►10/17/2020 - Xfinity Bristol Results

Two MBM Motorsports cars delivered strong runs in the Food City 300 at the Bristol Motor Speedway, securing the third MBM double Top 20 at this track in the last four races.

Timmy Hill led the charge in the #13 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry, despite starting deep in the field at P34. This was the same chassis that Stephen Leicht drove at Darlington, and it still carried the yellow and white striping that is a throwback to team owner Carl Long's Mansion Motorsports entries from the early 2000s. Hill advanced all the way up to 20th place by the end of Stage 1 and secured his first free pass of the evening back to the lead lap.

On a restart, the free pass recipient starts at the rear of the field, behind the lapped cars. At Bristol, when nearly half the field is a lap or more down, this often means the car who just got their lap restored is one of the first cars to lose that lap again if the following green flag run is of significant length. This was the pattern Hill found himself in, but fortunately, timely cautions meant the #13 team kept receiving the free pass. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native had a race-defining end to Stage 2, which ended with a 42 lap green flag run. Hill had to overtake #92 Josh Williams to be in position for the free pass award, and he did so with a bump-and-run in the absolute dying moments of the stage. The pass moved him up to P16, but crucially again restored him to the lead lap.

The 27-year-old competed inside the Top 15 for 105 laps during the race, essentially the majority of Stage 3. Hill got his fourth and final free pass on the night at the yellow flag for #90 Dexter Bean, and the veteran racer was able to convert all of those laps back into a terrific 15th place finish, the third Top 15 for both driver and team in the Xfinity Series at Bristol, all in the last three races at this track. The result translated into a big points night for the #13 team: they leaped up to 29th in the owner points, overtaking the JD Motorsports #15 and DGM Racing #90, as well as closing to within one point of the B.J. McLeod Motorsports #78.

Chad Finchum returned to his home track driving the #61 Garrison Homes Toyota Supra. The Knoxville, Tennessee native started 27th and drove a strong race, especially in the second half of the event. Finchum, racing just a few days ahead of his 26th birthday, finished Stage 1 in 21st and pitted under the yellow since there was no wavearound opportunity available. The #61 team did take the wavearound at the Stage 2 caution after taking the green-and-white checkered flag in 23rd. Finchum battled inside or very near the Top 20 for all of Stage 3 and ended up on a lap by himself at the end of the race, coming home in 20th position and matching his personal-best Xfinity Bristol finish. The result marks his 11th career Top 20 finish in the series, five of which have been scored in 2020.

Stephen Leicht had a brief run in the #66 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry. Starting in 36th, the Asheville, North Carolina native made his ninth Xfinity start at Bristol, but he had to go behind the wall after only 11 laps due to clutch trouble. Leicht finished 36th.

►10/17/2020 - Cup Richmond Results

After a moderately successful Xfinity race earlier on Saturday afternoon, the bad fortune returned for MBM Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup Series Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond Raceway. Timmy Hill started the #66 James Carter Attorney at Law / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry from 37th position. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native earned the free pass at the competition caution and got back on the lead lap, but his race was derailed with a rear hub and axle failure. The CrashClaimsR.US machine completed 100 laps and finished 38th.

►10/17/2020 - Xfinity Richmond Race 2 Results

Part two of the final NASCAR Xfinity Series doubleheader of the season, and the 25th race of the 2020 schedule, took place on Saturday at the Richmond Raceway, the Virginia is for Racing Lovers 250.

Stephen Leicht in the #13 Jani-King / RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry had a strong rebound from a disappointing Race 1 of the doubleheader. Starting from 35th place, Leicht got trapped one lap down at the competition caution. The #13 team made a race-defining strategy decision under that yellow by deciding to put on fresh tires. The race restarted with 30 laps to go in Stage 1, and in less than 25 laps, Leicht drove all the way through the field and successfully unlapped himself on track by passing the leader under green. The gamble to pit for fresh tires worked out brilliantly, and Leicht had restored himself to the lead lap for the start of Stage 2.

The Ashville, North Carolina native was one of several drivers to take the wavearound on the fifth and final caution flag of the race, when it occurred late in Stage 3. Two other drivers, #07 Joey Gase and #6 B.J. McLeod, were on the same strategy, with the same tire age as Leicht, and the driver of the #13 car managed to beat them both to the checkered flag, scoring P22 as the highest placed driver on his lap. The result was his fourth Xfinity Top 25 at this track through seven starts. Leicht scored the second-best result for an MBM Motorsports car at Richmond, trailing only a 20th place run by Joey Gase in September of 2019.

Chad Finchum returned to the #61 Pit Boss Grills Toyota Camry, looking for redemption after NASCAR disqualified their race result in the first part of the doubleheader. Finchum started in 33rd but struggled for pace through the first two stages. In Stage 3, the Knoxville, Tennessee native adopted a different strategy: early in the stint, he drove at just "80%," working hard on tire conservation so he would be better positioned for late in the race. The plan played out to perfection, as Finchum charged forward from 34th up to 30th. The #61 team took the same wavearound opportunity as the #13, and based on who took tires under the last yellow, Finchum would primarily be battling #52 Kody Vanderwal for finishing position. The Knoxville, Tennessee native had the tire life left to beat Vanderwal, securing a solid 28th place, and the highest placed driver on his lap at the checkered flag.

Timmy Hill drove the #66 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry deeper into the race on Saturday than he was able to in the first part of the doubleheader, but little attrition early provided few opportunities to capitalize. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native started and finished 36th, retiring the car after 56 laps due to a fuel pump issue.

►09/12/2020 - Xfinity Richmond Race 1 Results

The Go Bowling 250 at Richmond Raceway, the fourth and final doubleheader weekend on the COVID-19 impacted 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule, wound up being a brutal night for MBM Motorsports.

Chad Finchum transitioned over to the #61 Pit Boss Grills Toyota Camry for the Richmond doubleheader, having driven the majority of the season in the #13 car. The Knoxville, Tennessee native started from 25th and took the checkered flag on track in 27th place, but the result did not stand. A post-race technical inspection failure related to the rear heights of the car left the #61 team credited with the 37th finishing position and a solitary point.

The MBM intra-team driver shuffle moved Stephen Leicht into the #13 Jani-King / RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry. The Asheville, North Carolina driver started from 35th, but mechanical trouble sent him behind the wall for repairs early in the race. The MBM crew did get the car back on track, completing a total of 88 laps in the race, before Leicht retired due to a broken rear axle. NASCAR officials determined that the axle was installed improperly, triggering a one-race suspension for the car chief of the #13 team, Zach Gobble. This penalty will be served on Saturday in Race 2 of the Richmond doubleheader. Leicht ended up classified in the 34th finishing spot.

Timmy Hill had a short night in the #66 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native started 37th and drove to the garage with a severe vibration after four laps. The disqualification of the #61 car left Hill in the 36th finishing position.

►09/07/2020 - Cup Darlington Results

The traditional Labor Day weekend 500-miler for the NASCAR Cup Series took place Sunday night at Darlington Raceway with the running of the Cook Out Southern 500. Timmy Hill made his fifth Cup start at Darlington and third of 2020 from 33rd on the grid. The #66 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry took the competition caution in P38 but was steadily losing battery voltage in the early laps. The team gave up a lap under the yellow to replace one of the batteries, but it too started draining quickly. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native stayed on track for as long as he could, but once the voltage dropped below 11 volts he had to head to the garage.

The MBM crew got the alternator replaced behind the wall, made chassis adjustments, and returned Hill to the race around lap 83. Prior to going behind the wall, Hill reported the car was a "5 to 6 tight" on a 10-point handling scale. The team made adjustments through the remainder of the race and did improve the handling of the RoofClaim.com machine. The 27-year-old picked up four positions and an additional point by getting back on track and taking advantage of attrition in the 500-mile event. With 296 laps complete, lingering overheating issues sent Hill behind the wall for good. He finished 35th, securing Top 35s in all three Darlington Cup races in 2020.

►09/06/2020 - Xfinity Darlington Results

The NASCAR Xfinity Series competed for the second time at Darlington Raceway in 2020, with this round on the traditional Labor Day weekend. The Sport Clips Haircuts VFW 200 kicked off the annual NASCAR Throwback weekend that has become popular both for fans and personnel in the industry alike.

Hattori Racing Enterprises stepped back in to field the #61 Toyota Tsusho Toyota Supra this week at Darlington, the fourth time they have had involvement in an Xfinity entry this season. Austin Hill, the current driver points leader in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series, drove the #61 entry in his fifth career Xfinity start and fourth this year, starting from 26th position on the grid. The Winston, Georgia native worked his way forward in the field throughout the event, completing Stage 1 around 26th and Stage 2 in 16th. By the checkered flag, the 26-year-old rose all the way up to P9, matching his series-best finish as he completed all 147 possible laps around "The Track Too Tough to Tame." The finish elevated the #61 team back to 23rd place in the owner points, just two markers back of the RSS Racing #93. The #61 has now recorded two Top 10s and three Top 15s in 2020.

Chad Finchum carried a beautiful tribute to the #13 Elliott-Marino Racing car that Jerry Nadeau drove in the first half of the 1998 season, a team that was co-owned by 1988 Winston Cup Series Champion Bill Elliott and Pro Football Hall of Famer, 17-year Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino. The #13 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry, which also carried the logo of Rich Mar Florist on the bumper cover for the first time, started 23rd on the grid and was still running 24th at the competition caution. The Knoxville, Tennessee native took the Stage 1 green-and-white checkered flag in P25. That preceded a P28 Stage 2 finish, as Finchum got a bit stuck in traffic early in the run. Early Stage 3 almost unglued a good result for the team when confusion on the restart order for lapped down cars meant the #13 took the green flag in a three-wide battle that NASCAR deemed worthy of a drive-through penalty, despite the position dispute. Fortunately, problems for a competitor brought out the yellow flag on the lap Finchum would have had to perform the pass through, enabling him to serve the violation under yellow by restarting at the tail of the longest line.

Photo Credit: Michael McCarroll via Facebook.

The 25-year-old took that restart under penalty in P30 and kept moving forward the remainder of the race. Finchum avoided the chaos that ensued when the #02 Our Motorsports car dropped fluid in the racing line around the track, advancing several positions before the caution flag was displayed. Finchum rose all the way to 20th, one lap back of the leaders, and remained in that position for the entire final stint of the race despite a late challenge from #0 Jeffrey Earnhardt. The Tennessean was the best of six cars on his lap at the finish. P20 resets his personal-best result at Darlington through four starts, is his series-best result since Kentucky on July 9th, eight starts ago, and is his fourth Top 20 of the season. Combined with his P24 run in May, Finchum completed 293 of 294 possible Xfinity racing laps at Darlington in 2020. The #13 car now stands 32nd in overall owner points, 30th among full-time teams, but is within just 10 points of the next five cars ahead.

Stephen Leicht ran the #66 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry, which carried a throwback to the Mansion Motorsports paint schemes that MBM team owner Carl Long piloted in the early 2000s on the #85 Dodge in the premier series. The Asheville, North Carolina native started from 36th but only got 11 laps in before suspension issues forced him to the garage. Leicht earned 35th in his fifth Xfinity start at Darlington.

►09/01/2020 - Cup Daytona Results

The Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway was the third of four superspeedway, pack-style races in the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series Championship. Timmy Hill began his race in the #66 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry from the 35th starting spot. The 27-year-old fell one lap down in the first stint and ran in the free pass position for most of the Stage 1 laps following the competition caution. Rick Ware Racing driver #53 Joey Gase got lapped late in Stage 1, and Hill pushed hard in the late laps of the segment to overtake Gase. Hill completed the move for position on lap 45 and secured his free pass, returning the #66 to the lead lap for Stage 2.

The RoofClaim.com machine ran inside the Top 30 for many of the opening green flag laps of Stage 2, prior to several cars opting for a green flag pit stop. The MBM team stayed out on track as long as they could before needing to hit pit road for fuel around lap 92. Hill then remained on track under the Stage 2 caution and took advantage of the wavearound opportunity.

The Port Tobacco, Maryland native came in for his final scheduled pit stop under green in Stage 3, but shortly after returning to the track, the #66 picked up debris on the nose of the car. The water temperature spiked considerably, rising to a troubling 283 degrees Fahrenheit. Hill was moments away from coming to pit road again to clean the grill when the caution flag came out for an incident involving #51 James Davison. Under the yellow, Hill drove his Toyota up behind #15 Brennan Poole, and the reduction in air pressure on the nose successfully removed the debris, allowing Hill to stay on track.

Heavy attrition in the late laps enabled the MBM Motorsports group to salvage a strong finish from the event. For the final restart, Hill found himself on the same lap as the damaged #3 car driven by Austin Dillon. Hill did enough to beat Dillon back to the line, dodge the remaining carnage, and take the checkered flag on track in 24th position. That result is the fourth career Top 25 in Cup for both the MBM Motorsports Cup program and Hill as a driver. The 27-year-old has scored three of those Top 25s in MBM equipment, and two have come this season, including his stunning 19th place performance at Bristol in May. It is also the best Cup result for Hill at Daytona in a full-points event.

►09/01/2020 - Xfinity Daytona Results

The 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series season is now two-thirds complete, as the Wawa 250 Powered by Coca-Cola at Daytona International Speedway run on Friday night was the 22nd of 33 scheduled races for this year. Two MBM Motorsports cars showed strong pace and ran near the front through the end of Stage 2, but the teams were not rewarded with representative finishes as trouble struck in Stage 3.

Timmy Hill returned to the #61 team for the first time since Kansas, five races ago. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native started the #61 VSI Racing / RoofClaim.com Toyota Supra from 31st and immediately worked his way forward in the field. MBM utilized an alternate pit strategy to gain track position: a Stage 1 pit stop enabled the #61 team to stay out under the Stage 1 caution and cycle to the lead of the race. Hill led the field to green on the restart and fortunately was running in front of a large, multi-car crash that erupted early in Stage 2. In total, Hill led the field across the start-finish line four times. Combined with his one lap led at Daytona in February, the 27-year-old now has five laps led in 2020, a new personal-best in Xfinity in his tenth year of driving competition. Hill has now led six Xfinity events in total: three for Rick Ware Racing and three for MBM, including twice in 2020.

Hill missed picking up stage points at the end of Stage 2 by just two positions, taking the green-and-white checkered flag in P12. Frustratingly, the team's hope of another spectacular finish were dashed early in Stage 3 when a piece of debris cut down the left front tire on the #61 car, forcing Hill to hit pit road under green. The combination of a flat tire on track, the unscheduled green flag pit stop, and rejoining the race track with little drafting help left Hill three laps down at the finish. High attrition enabled the veteran driver to still achieve P22 in the final rundown and his 12th Top 25 of the season, but that result does not capture that the #61 ran inside the Top 15 for 37 laps in the race. Hill recorded the 14th best average running position (16.9) in the field, even despite pitting under green and losing track position early in Stage 3. The #61 team picked up its 15th Top 25 of the year and has now been running at the end of the last eight consecutive races, marking their longest streak of the season.

Chad Finchum ran a new yellow-based variation of the now familiar RoofClaim.com paint scheme on Friday, and for much of the night, appeared poised to reset his career-best Xfinity finish of P14, set at this same track in July of 2018. Finchum ran around his teammate, #61 Hill, for most of the first half of the race. The #13 RoofClaim.com Toyota Supra missed scoring points in Stage 2 by a solitary position, finishing that stint in 11th place. The Knoxville, Tennessee native spent a total of 42 laps inside the Top 15, even running as high as 7th. However, the fantastic run was brought to a premature close abruptly inside the final 15 laps when Finchum felt the engine locking up. The driver switched ignition boxes and made another lap or so, but it proved futile as the locking returned, and the #13 car had to be parked to avoid a catastrophic failure. Despite going to the garage with 88 laps complete and missing the final dozen laps, Finchum maintained an average running position of 17.7, ranked 15th best among all drivers in the field. Ultimately the RoofClaim.com car finished 25th, giving Finchum his 13th Top 25 of the year, now five more than his previous best season total. The #13 team recorded its 14th Top 25 of 2020 in spite of the unrepresentative finish.

John Jackson started his second Xfinity race of the season, previously driving at Talladega back in June. The 56-year-old began his 37th Xfinity race from 37th in the #66 James Carter Attorney at Law / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Supra. Unanticipated drama unfolded for the #66 team in Stage 1 as Jackson went for a spin through the tri-oval at the same time #90 Caesar Bacarella was separately causing the second caution flag of the race. It appeared that a cut tire caused Jackson to spin, possibly a result of debris from the incident that brought out the first yellow. With handling concerns, the Scotsman took the car to the garage after his 14th lap, taking P35 in the final results.

►08/28/2020 - Cup Dover Race 2 Results

For the third time this season, the NASCAR Cup Series teams contested full-distance points races on consecutive days at the same track. Part two of the Dover International Speedway doubleheader took place on Sunday with the running of the Drydene 311 Race 2. Timmy Hill continued his full-season Cup series effort in the #66 Manscaped / SBC Contractors Toyota Camry. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native started from 36th place and ran as high as 32nd, but the fifth premier series start for MBM Motorsports at Dover came to a premature end. Smoke suddenly trailed from the car under green in Stage 3, and Hill had to take the #66 to the garage with a blown engine. He finished 36th with 252 laps complete.

►08/28/2020 - Xfinity Dover Race 2 Results

Part two of the third NASCAR Xfinity Series weekend doubleheader of the season took place on Sunday at the Dover International Speedway. In the Drydene 200 Race 2, a different MBM Motorsports team than on Saturday rose to earn the best result for the organization.

Chad Finchum started from 32nd in the #13 Garrison Homes Toyota Camry. The Knoxville, Tennessee native struggled for speed early in the event, but made a race-defining pass late in Stage 2 on #0 Jeffrey Earnhardt of JD Motorsports. That pass positioned Finchum to be awarded the free pass at the caution to conclude Stage 2, and the #13 team took full advantage. The final 103 laps of the race ran without a yellow, and Finchum advanced all the way up to 24th position at the finish, the best of five drivers on his lap at the checkered flag. P24 is the best result for the 25-year-old at Dover in his Xfinity career, as well as his second Top 25 at this track in eight starts, making it easily his most experienced track in the series. The #13 team has picked up 13 Top 25 results this season through 21 races.

While the Sunday race was a big step forward for Finchum over his Saturday run, Stephen Leicht experienced the opposite trend in his #61 Jani-King / RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry. He started in 23rd place, competed for a Top 20, lead lap finish in Stage 2, and ran as high as 18th. Unfortunately, issues under the caution at the Stage 2 conclusion saw Leicht rejoin the race early in Stage 3 five laps behind his rivals for position. The race ran green to its conclusion, leaving Leicht to salvage 31st place in his 150th Xfinity career start.

The fourth of five national NASCAR series races for Timmy Hill in a span of three days took place on Sunday, driving the #66 Jani-King Toyota Supra in Xfinity. Starting from 36th, the 27-year-old ran up to 27th position early in the event. Overheating sent the #66 behind the wall after 59 laps. In his 18th Xfinity start at this track, Hill finished 34th.

►08/28/2020 - Cup Dover Race 1 Results

The Drydene 311 Race 1 took place on Saturday afternoon at Dover International Speedway, the first of two premier series full-distance point races on the weekend. Timmy Hill piloted the #66 Manscaped / SBC Contractors Toyota Camry from 33rd on the starting grid, in just the second Cup race in which cars were assigned starting spots based on the NASCAR performance matrix. For Hill, P33 on the grid matched his personal-best starting spot since the last time Cup cars held on track qualifying at Charlotte in May for the Coca-Cola 600. The Port Tobacco, Maryland driver completed 298 of the 311 possible racing laps, getting the #66 to the checkered flag on track for the fifth consecutive race (matches season-high). Hill finished 34th in his ninth Cup start at this track.

►08/28/2020 - Xfinity Dover Race 1 Results

For the third time in the 2020 championship, the NASCAR Xfinity Series contested two full-distance points races at the same circuit on consecutive days: this time at the Dover International Speedway. The Drydene 200 Race 1 took place on Saturday, and MBM Motorsports got two cars to the checkered flag on track inside the Top 30.

Stephen Leicht carried the banner for MBM driving the #61 Jani-King / RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry. Leicht earned 15th position on the starting grid through the still new NASCAR performance matrix, a reflection of his strong 21st place result at the Daytona Road Course and his solid fastest lap rank of 20th. The Asheville, North Carolina native also started from 15th at Road America, matching his best starting spot since beginning from 11th at Montreal in 2009. Leicht completed 198 of the 200 possible laps and took the checkered flag in 22nd position, extending his 100% streak of finishing inside the Top 22 in the #61 car through four starts to date. Impressively, the 33-year-old carried his MBM machinery to his personal-best Xfinity finish at Dover through eight starts, improving over two 23rd place results acquired while racing at Robert Yates Racing and JD Motorsports. Leicht gained MBM one spot in owner points with his finish, as the #61 team advanced to 23rd place in the championship.

After filling the role of spotter for Bobby Reuse on the Daytona Road Course, Chad Finchum returned behind the wheel at Dover to race his #13 Garrison Homes Toyota Camry for his seventh series start at this track, making it his most experienced Xfinity circuit on the calendar. The Knoxville, Tennessee native started 34th and steadily worked his way into the Top 30. Finchum made 196 of 200 possible laps and got the car home in 29th place for his third Top 30 at this track. The #13 team has finished on track in their last five consecutive races, a feat they were able to achieve using three different drivers.

Timmy Hill had an incredibly busy weekend at Dover, driving for his own #56 Hill Motorsports team in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series race and driving MBM Motorsports Toyotas in both the Xfinity and Cup doubleheader events on the weekend. On the Xfinity side, the Port Tobacco, Maryland native ran the #66 Jani-King Toyota Supra. Starting from 36th on the grid, Hill advanced to as high as 28th place in the running order in the opening laps. However, a worsening vibration forced the #66 team to the garage early in Stage 2. With 55 laps complete, Hill finished 36th.

►08/19/2020 - Cup Daytona Road Course Results

On a very hot day in Daytona Beach, Florida, the NASCAR Cup Series competed on the Daytona International Speedway Road Course for the first time. The Go Bowling 235 took place on nearly the same track used by the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for the 24 Hours of Daytona, with the addition of a chicane in between oval Turn 4 and the start-finish line to slow the entry speed of the cars into Turn 1 of the road course.

Timmy Hill started the #66 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry from 37th position in the 39-car field, with this being the first week NASCAR utilized its new performance matrix to set the starting lineup. The metric is calculated for each driver, with 50% weight for previous race finishing position, 35% owner points position, and 15% previous race fastest lap rank. No testing, practice, or qualifying took place, even despite premier series stock cars having never competed on this circuit. Drivers were cautious at the start, learning the limits of the track. Taking advantage of green flag pit stops for several of the leaders prior to each Stage break, Hill ran as high as 10th place on Sunday, and he earned Top 25 results in both Stages 1 and 2.

Stage 3 was interrupted with a 31-minute red flag for lightning near the facility, but rain never arrived, and the race resumed with all drivers still on slick tires for a dry track. Teams made their final scheduled pit stops under green in Stage 3, before a late-race caution for an accident involving #18 Kyle Busch. That yellow set up a three-lap dash to the checkered flag. Hill picked up a couple of spots in the final laps as other drivers made mistakes, and the Port Tobacco, Maryland native held off #51 James Davison on the final lap to finish P29. It was the second lead lap result and fifth Top 30 finish for Hill and the MBM Motorsports Cup program in 2020. Additionally, 29th is a team-best Cup result on a road course, a one position improvement from the 30th place run at the Charlotte Roval in 2019.

►08/19/2020 - Xfinity Daytona Road Course Results

The Xfinity Series became the first of the three national NASCAR divisions to compete on the 3.61-mile Daytona International Speedway Road Course, and all three of those events were held with no sanctioned testing, practice, or qualifying prior to the race start. The UNOH 188 was scheduled for 52 laps on Saturday afternoon, and the series got the full race in despite a lengthy lightning delay. Much like Road America the previous week, this event took place in mixed conditions, with a wet but drying track. NASCAR deemed the circuit to be in a damp condition, meaning the decision to run on rain tires or not was left up to the teams to decide.

Stephen Leicht carried the banner for MBM Motorsports for the second consecutive week, backing up his Top 25 at Road America with another at Daytona. Starting 21st on the grid as calculated and ordered by the new NASCAR performance matrix, Leicht was running in the Top 15 late in the event before suffering a spin on one of the chaotic late race restarts. Entering Turn 1 with 5 laps to go, #92 Josh Williams spun to avoid #0 Mike Wallace, and the #92 car then slammed into the back of the #61 Jani-King Toyota Supra, spinning Leicht and leaving the #61 car as one of six drivers to spin in Turn 1 on lap 48 alone. The remainder of the race ran to completion without a full-course yellow, so the time lost in the incident could not be recovered. The Asheville, North Carolina driver did manage to charge back up through the order from 26th and last on the lead lap to 21st by the checkered flag, less than three tenths of a second away from the Top 20. Leicht has run all three Xfinity road course races this year in the #61 and finished on the lead lap in the Top 22 in all three. The #61 team has accumulated 13 Top 25 finishes to this point in 2020, including the last four consecutive events. Also notably, this was the 13th time this season an MBM Xfinity car has finished on the lead lap, matching the team-best season total from 2019 with 14 races still remaining this year.

Chad Finchum was originally scheduled to drive the #13 car, but a unique circumstance transitioned Finchum to the spotter role for this weekend. Bobby Reuse, and his brother Roger Reuse, had both entered and planned to compete in the Sunoco 159 for the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series. However, the #68 truck that Bobby Reuse was scheduled to drive was forced to withdraw from the race due to chassis certification issues. NASCAR requires notification of chassis transfers prior to the official entry deadline, which the #68 team did not submit in time. Reuse and MBM Motorsports worked out a deal to place the Vestavia Hills, Alabama native behind the wheel of the #13 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry. Entering the weekend, the 50-year-old had three Xfinity starts and three Truck starts, with five of the six occurring on road courses. Reuse started the RoofClaim.com machine from 35th in his first Xfinity event since 2015, and he got the car to the checkered flag on track in 30th place. It is the third Top 30 in Xfinity for Reuse, and the fourth straight race running at the finish for the #13 team.

Harold Crooms of Lakeland, Florida got to make his NASCAR national series debut aboard the #66 Unknown BBQ / MaxPay Pawn Toyota Supra. The 40-year-old is a long-time local racer, but the UNOH 188 was his first ever experience driving a road course. Crooms started 38th in the race and built to speed as he learned the limit of the car and circuit. He ran his fastest lap of the race on lap 26, showing his lap-by-lap improvement. However, the #66 machine started to lose braking power deeper into the race, and due to this, Crooms had to retire the car after 36 laps. He finished his first Xfinity start in 35th place.

►08/09/2020 - Cup Michigan Race 2 Results

The second of two NASCAR Cup Series races at Michigan in 2020, the Consumers Energy 400, occurred on Sunday, one day following the FireKeepers Casino 400. Timmy Hill started the #66 SBC Contractors Toyota Camry from 33rd based on his finish in Race 1 of the doubleheader. On lap 7, the Port Tobacco, Maryland native reported that he was a little bit tight in traffic. The #66 seemed to struggle with the same lack of top-end speed as on Saturday. In Stage 2, Hill said the car fired off tight, but in Stage 3, after several chassis adjustments, the 27-year-old radioed to his crew that the car was handling its best to that point in the race. Hill spent the majority of Stage 3 on a lap by himself and took advantage of some late race attrition to get the car home in 35th position. The MBM Motorsports Cup program has taken the checkered flag on track in three of its four starts at Michigan.

The FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway is the first of two NASCAR Cup Series races on consecutive days, as well as the second of three doubleheaders contested by the Cup teams since the return from the COVID-19 shutdown. The previous doubleheader occurred at Pocono and the next will be at Dover in two weeks.

For the final time in the 2020 Cup Series, the starting lineup for a full-distance points race was set according to the groups of twelve random draw among chartered cars. This meant that for the 12th time this season, Timmy Hill lined up 38th on the grid due the MBM Motorsports #66 being the second highest Open team in car owner points. The #66 SBC Contractors Toyota Camry earned the free pass at the competition caution, restoring Hill to the lead lap. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native found the handling of the car to be reasonably good, but the team struggled with horsepower and top-end speed as the race developed. The MBM Motorsports crew made several adjustments to free the car up, so that Hill could maintain as much on-throttle time as possible. The cautions in Stage 3 worked in the favor of the #66 team, as a wavearound with about 45 laps of the scheduled distance remaining paid off, and Hill also picked up the free pass during both of the final two caution periods. The 27-year-old took the checkered flag on track in 33rd, achieving his best Cup result at Michigan since his first series start at this track back in 2013. P33 is also a team-best result at this track for the MBM Cup program.

►08/08/2020 - Xfinity Road America Results

The NASCAR Xfinity Series contested its first true standalone event of the 2020 campaign at the mammoth 4.048-mile road course set in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin: Road America. The course is a challenge for cars and drivers alike in dry conditions, much less in the wet. The race started on a dry track, but lightning forced a red flag even before the completion of Stage 1. Following multiple lightning delays, and with precipitation falling, teams opted to put on rain tires and push forward once the racing resumed. The circuit dried out and teams returned to slicks for the conclusion of the event.

NASCAR veteran Stephen Leicht led the charge for MBM Motorsports in the #61 Jani-King Toyota Supra. The Asheville, North Carolina native started his race from 15th place, earned via random draw and the #61 car being in 13th-24th grouping based on owner points. P15 is the highest starting position for Leicht in the series since he began from 11th at Montreal in 2009, back when he was driving for Richard Childress Racing. The 33-year-old showed especially strong pace while on the rain tires and was in position for a Top 20 finish approaching the final restart. When the dust settled, the 33-year-old took the checkered flag in 22nd position, just one position shy of matching his P21 in this same chassis last month at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course. The MBM #61 has been running at the finish of the last four Xfinity races, matching its season-high (previously a stretch from Las Vegas to Darlington).

Jesse Iwuji is a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy Reserves, but also an aspiring NASCAR driver, and made his Xfinity Series debut in the #13 G2Xchange Toyota Camry at Road America. Iwuji has started ten NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series events to date with a best finish of 17th last season at the Texas Motor Speedway in March. The Carrollton, Texas native began his first Xfinity race from 35th on the grid and drove a smart race, minimizing risk and gaining as much experience as possible. The 32-year-old completed his objectives with a clean run, taking the checkered flag on track and on the lead lap with the benefit of a late free pass award. Iwuji took home P26 on debut. With both the #13 and #61 teams completing all 45 possible circuits, the MBM Motorsports Xfinity program picked up its tenth-ever double lead lap result (including three triple lead laps). Six of those ten have come on road courses.

As he did at the Indy road course, Chad Finchum slid over to drive the #66 O.C.R. Gaz Bar Toyota Supra. The Knoxville, Tennessee native was assigned the 31st starting spot based on based on a combination of owner points and random draw. The 27-year-old completed 5 laps in the race before heading to the garage with transmission trouble. Finchum is now tied for 25th in driver points with Vinnie Miller, each of them accruing 213 points in the 2020 season to date.

►08/02/2020 - Cup New Hampshire Results

The 20th race of the NASCAR Cup Series took place at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway, as Timmy Hill drove the #66 James Carter Attorney at Law / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry in the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301. Starting 38th as determined by the COVID-19 NASCAR lineup procedure, Hill advanced up to P32 by the lap 30 competition caution. The driver reported a tight handling car, particularly in the center of the corners. Hill showed similar speed to #53 James Davison through much of Stage 1, but poor fuel mileage worked against the MBM #66 team. They hit pit road around lap 167 for a green flag pit stop, and just moments after returning to the track, the yellow flag came out for a spin by #95 Christopher Bell. Hill took the wavearound, but so did many of the other lapped cars, trapping the #66 a lap behind most of its immediate rivals. Stage 3 required another green flag pit stop, this time for two right side tires and one can of Sunoco fuel. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native was catching #00 Quin Houff, who did not need a green flag pit stop in Stage 3, in the final laps but ran out of time. 33rd position at the checkered is a personal-best for Hill at New Hampshire through six Cup starts here, the most recent of which prior to Sunday came in September of 2015.

►08/01/2020 - Xfinity Kansas Results

The 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series campaign is now more than halfway complete with the running of the Kansas Lottery 250 at Kansas Speedway now in the books.

Timmy Hill picked up another good result in the #61 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry. The #61 earned the opportunity to participate in the 13th-24th random draw grouping this week (based on owner points), having strung several consistent runs together. Hill started 21st and ran solidly, including spending nine laps in the Top 15. As in Texas the week before, a late race caution bunched up the field for a restart and NASCAR Overtime. Hill drove hard and hung on to finish 19th, easily his personal-best at Kansas in eight starts (previous best: 31st). It is the sixth Xfinity Top 20 of the season for the Port Tobacco, Maryland native.

Chad Finchum struggled with the handling of his #13 James Carter Attorney at Law / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry more than anticipated. Running the same chassis that last raced at Kentucky, Finchum started 31st. The Knoxville, Tennessee native did pick up a free pass award at the Stage 1 competition caution, and much like Hill, found himself as one of six drivers on the same lap for the final restart. Having pitted somewhat early in the Stage 3 green flag pit stop cycle, the #13 did not have much grip left for the final run, but Finchum drove hard and kept two rivals behind him, securing P29 in his third start at this track.

►08/01/2020 - Cup Kansas Results

The NASCAR Cup Series held a rare Thursday night full-distance, full-points race at the Kansas Speedway, providing television network partner NBC the opportunity to broadcast a weeknight event. Timmy Hill started the Super Start Batteries 400 from 38th position again based on the COVID-19 NASCAR lineup procedure. The #66 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry was one of several cars warned by NASCAR throughout the event regarding maintaining minimum speed, which proved challenging to meet for several teams while the track temperatures remained high. Further complicating the situation were recurring electrical problems for the #66 team. Around the Stage 1 competition caution, the spotter radioed to the team that the engine note had started to sour and shortly after that Hill reported that he was down on power. The 27-year-old took his RoofClaim.com machine to the garage for repairs and made enough laps to secure a 38th place result, but ultimately had to park the car with ongoing electrical trouble.

The O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 was a test of endurance for man and machine, as the NASCAR Cup Series contested a 500-mile event at Texas Motor Speedway in the heat of the day. Timmy Hill drove the #66 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry in the 18th event of the 2020 Cup series, which has now reached the halfway point of its schedule. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native started 38th again due to NASCAR's COVID-19 lineup procedure. The #66 team showed enough speed to outrun the B.J. McLeod #78 and Rick Ware #51 and #53 cars, but terminal electrical problems cropped up for the MBM Cup program for the second consecutive race. Those electrical gremlins prevented the #66 from reaching full power. After an extended stay in the garage, the #66 completed enough laps to overtake #24 William Byron, but the car would not last at speed long enough to reach #13 Ty Dillon. With 254 laps completed, Hill had to retire the car and settle for P36 in his seventh Texas Cup start. It is his best Cup finish at this circuit since a 35th place run in 2014, driving the Little Joe's Autos #33 for Circle Sport.

►08/01/2020 - Xfinity Texas Results

The NASCAR Xfinity Series contested the My Bariatric Solutions 300 at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday, and MBM Motorsports grabbed a double Top 25 from the event.

Timmy Hill raced the #61 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry. He started 27th and earned a crucial free pass award at the caution to end Stage 1. Stage 3 included a long stretch of green flag racing with a pit stop cycle, but a late caution flag set up a NASCAR Overtime restart. Hill was racing six other cars on his same lap for this final restart, and he prevailed over all of them. The #61 took the checkered flag in P18, and then a post-race disqualification by another competitor promoted Hill to the 17th finishing position. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native picked up his first Xfinity Top 20 at Texas in his 13th series start at this track.

Chad Finchum, who started 29th in his #13 Smithbilt Homes / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry, missed out on an opportunity to be in the same late race battle as Hill. The Knoxville, Tennessee struggled with top end speed during the race, but his biggest setback was a long green flag pit stop in Stage 3. After the wavearound eligible cars had taken the wave prior to NASCAR Overtime, Finchum found himself as the only driver on his lap. The #13 car reached the checkered 25th on the road and 24th in the final order after tech inspection was completed. Finchum earned his fourth straight Top 25 at Texas.

►08/01/2020 - Cup Kentucky Results

The five-consecutive race running at the finish streak came to an end at Kentucky Speedway for the #66 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry. Timmy Hill started 38th based on the COVID-19 NASCAR lineup procedure, and then at the competition caution took the wavearound to get back on the lead lap. Not long after making his scheduled Stage 1 green flag pit stop, Hill radioed in to his crew that the digital dashboard had shut off, and the car was down on power. After an extended pit stop, Hill returned to the track before electrical issues forced the #66 car behind the wall. In the garage, the team discovered the alternator belt had been knocked off. MBM Motorsports got it replaced and returned their Toyota Camry to the racetrack, approximately 54 laps behind the leaders. Electrical issues would recur and end Hill's day for good after he completed 170 laps. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native wound up 37th in his third premier series start at Kentucky.

►08/01/2020 - Xfinity Kentucky Race 2 Results

Friday night proved to be more of a struggle than Thursday night did for MBM Motorsports, as the NASCAR Xfinity Series completed Race 2 of its Kentucky Speedway doubleheader, the Alsco 300.

The MBM mechanics worked hard to prepare a backup for Timmy Hill after his involvement in the final lap crash on Thursday night. After competing in a Supra in Race 1 of the doubleheader, Hill piloted the #61 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry from the rear of the field, having to relinquish his 21st place grid position due to changing chassis. The 27-year-old took the checkered flag on track in P26, ahead of the only other car on his lap.

The #13 Rick Rose - One Last Race / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry had a less successful night than on Thursday. Chad Finchum only missed the reverse grid pole position by one spot, but still lined up 16th based on his Race 1 result, his second highest starting spot of the season. The Knoxville, Tennessee native was unable to convert this into a representative result, however, as his car had to be retired with electrical issues after 66 laps. The #13 finished 33rd.

►08/01/2020 - Xfinity Kentucky Race 1 Results

MBM Motorsports came within one lap of achieving a double Top 20, lead lap result in the Shady Rays 200 at Kentucky Speedway, but involvement by the #61 car in a last lap crash meant only one car reached that accomplishment. This race was run on Thursday night, the first of two Xfinity races at Kentucky on back-to-back days.

Chad Finchum got the job done in his #13 Rick Rose - One Last Race / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry, becoming the first MBM Xfinity entry to finish a race at Kentucky on the lead lap. After starting down in 32nd position, Finchum advanced through the field, recording an average event running position in the Top 25. The #13 team made use of two free pass awards on the night to be fighting for lead lap positions on the final three restarts. Ultimately the Knoxville, Tennessee native took the checkered flag in 16th, his personal-best at Kentucky and tied for his second-best result on any intermediate track. It is also his personal-best in 2020, bettering two 20th place runs at Daytona and Fontana.

Timmy Hill was in a very strong position entering the final restart and NASCAR Overtime. The #61 RoofClaim.com Toyota Supra came from 33rd on the starting grid and showed the most speed of the three MBM entries for the majority of the race. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native maintained an average running position throughout the event inside the Top 20 and spent 38 laps, or more than one-fifth of the race distance, inside the Top 15. Unfortunately on the last lap, #7 Justin Allgaier and #90 Ronnie Bassett Jr. made contact exiting Turn 2, triggering a multi-car incident that Hill became involved in. The RoofClaim.com machine was too damaged to complete the final circuit of the race. The 27-year-old still picked up a 21st place finish, which combined with Finchum's 16th place meant MBM scored its first double Top 25 at Kentucky. However, the last lap wreck meant the #61 team would need to prepare a backup car for Race 2 of the doubleheader on Friday

►07/30/2020 - Cup Indianapolis Results

The Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400 at the Brickyard, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, was run on the weekend of Independence Day for the first time. Timmy Hill was due to start the #66 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry from P38 according to the COVID-19 NASCAR lineup procedure but was required to drop to the rear of the field on the pace laps due to failing pre-race inspection two times. The crew got the car through inspection on the third attempt, but mechanical trouble struck again in the race. Hill reported low fuel pressure, and as a result the team had to constantly short pit, refueling at every opportunity to keep the motor from being starved for gas. The team discussed heading behind the wall to make repairs but decided to stay on track, picking up several positions in the process.

The 27-year-old completed 153 of 161 possible laps, taking advantage of the high attrition to finish P29, matching his result from Pocono Race 2 the previous weekend. It is the first time he has had consecutive Top 30s in Cup since he did three in a row back in 2017, a stretch containing Kansas, Charlotte, and Dover. Hill earned his second Top 30 at Indy in his fifth Cup start on the historic 2.5-mile oval. This was also the fifth consecutive race the MBM #66 has been running at the finish, matching its season-long streak.

►07/30/2020 - Xfinity Indianapolis Road Course Results

MBM Motorsports scored a triple lead lap result in the Pennzoil 150 at the Brickyard, the debut race for a national NASCAR series on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway infield, 2.439-mile road course. Being a brand new circuit to stock cars, Xfinity teams were given two practice sessions on Friday to learn the track and dial in their car setups before contesting the 62 lap race on Saturday, the 4th of July.

Timmy Hill placed his #13 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry 24th quickest in Practice 1 and improved to 20th in Practice 2. From 34th position in the starting lineup, Hill made up positions at the green flag, and took advantage of pit strategy to get his RoofClaim.com machine up front. Hill earned the #13 team three stage points in Stage 2, taking the green-and-white checkered flag in 8th place. Then, on what turned out to be the final full-course caution of the race, Hill was one of a handful of drivers to stay out, providing him a restart from Row 2 of the field. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native was able to take advantage of the track position and hang on for a 19th place finish in the first-ever Xfinity event on the Indy road course. It was the third Top 20 for the #13 team this season, but the first since NASCAR's return from the pandemic shutdown (most recent Top 20: Fontana). Following Chad Finchum at Talladega, the #13 team earned its second lead lap finish from the last three races. The result was the 26th Top 20 of Timmy Hill's Xfinity career to date and his fourth of 2020.

Stephen Leicht put together a strong performance in the #61 Jani-King Toyota Supra, completing his first full race-distance Xfinity event this season, taking the checkered flag on track and completing all 62 possible laps. Leicht was 21st fastest in Practice 1 on Friday and started the race from 28th. The Asheville, North Carolina driver took the final restart deep in the field of lead lap competitors, roughly 27th position, but made several passes in the final green flag run of the race to jump up to 21st by the checkered flag. The result marks the eighth Top 25 of 2020 for the #61 team through 13 races. P21 is a season-best finish for Leicht, as well as a personal-best since Phoenix in November of 2019.

With the other MBM driver shuffling, Chad Finchum slid over to pilot the #66 O.C.R. Gaz Bar Toyota Supra. He placed 30th fastest in Practice 2 on Friday and started the race from P37. Finchum capitalized on two free pass awards late in the event to get himself back on the lead lap, securing just the third triple lead lap in MBM team history, as well as its first of 2020. The Knoxville, Tennessee native took the checkered flag in P27, matching the Pocono result for the #66 as a car-best since the season opener at Daytona. Finchum grabbed his third lead lap of the season and second in the last three races.

►07/30/2020 - Cup Pocono Race 2 Results

Race 2 of the NASCAR Cup Series doubleheader at Pocono Raceway, the Pocono 350, was also part of an unplanned tripleheader due to a Saturday rain postponement. For the first time in NASCAR history, all three national series contested full-distance, full-points races at the same track on the same day.

Timmy Hill climbed back behind the wheel of the #66 James Carter Attorney at Law / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry, racing his third NASCAR event in less than two days (two Cup, one Xfinity). The starting grid for the Pocono 350 was set with a partial reverse grid: NASCAR inverted the Top 20 finishers from Race 1 and assigned the balance of the field based on their Saturday finish. This promoted Hill to the 35th starting spot, his first grid position in the Top 35 since the events at Charlotte Motor Speedway back in May. The 27-year-old drove an excellent race and took advantage of two free pass awards to finish a lap ahead of several of MBM's usual direct competitors, including the StarCom #00, the Spire #77, and the Rick Ware #51 and #53. Hill finished the race on a lap by himself up in 29th, collecting the third-best result for the #66 team in 2020 to date, as well as his second Cup Top 30 at Pocono. The Port Tobacco, Maryland driver kept his streak alive of finishing all seven premier series races he has started at this track under power.

►07/30/2020 - Xfinity Pocono Results

It was a race of mixed fortunes for the MBM Motorsports Xfinity teams at Pocono Raceway, site of the Pocono Green 225.

Timmy Hill turned in a truly outstanding drive in his #61 RoofClaim.com Toyota Supra. Lined up 34th on the grid, the 27-year-old gained more positions from his starting spot than any other driver in the field, rocketing up to an incredible 8th place finish. He ran 64 laps, or more than 70% of the race distance, inside the Top 15, the ninth highest total in the field. It is just the third Top 10 for MBM Motorsports on a non-drafting track and the fifth overall in team history. Additionally, Pocono becomes the fourth different circuit where MBM has scored a Top 10 finish. Hill picked up his second Xfinity Top 10 on a non-drafting track and sixth Xfinity Top 10 overall.

Chad Finchum would have been on for a good result in his #13 Carter's Royal Dispos-All / Smithbilt Homes Toyota Supra, but transmission issues forced him to the garage mid-race for repairs. The Knoxville, Tennessee native returned to the track and was heading for another Top 25 when something broke in the right front of the car going through the Tunnel Turn. The #13 car slammed into the outside retaining wall. The driver climbed out sore but otherwise alright from the visually nasty accident. Finchum placed 26th in the final results, which is a personal-best at Pocono.

Stephen Leicht returned to the #66 Jani-King Toyota Supra after not competing at Talladega, when John Jackson made a start in the #66 car. Leicht came from 36th on the grid and ran deep into Stage 3, completing 69 of 91 possible laps before ultimately retiring with electrical issues. 69 laps were the most completed by Leicht since the return of NASCAR post-pandemic shutdown and were the most completed by the #66 team since Timmy Hill made 151 laps at Charlotte in May. This effort earned Leicht P27, the first Top 30 for the #66 since the phenomenal P3 at the season opening Daytona event.

►07/30/2020 - Cup Pocono Race 1 Results

The NASCAR Cup Series contested a doubleheader over two days at Pocono Raceway: two full-distance, full-points Cup races over one weekend at the same circuit, a first for the premier series. Race 1 of the doubleheader, the Pocono Organics 325, had its start delayed by rain, but fortunately the series completed the 325 scheduled miles in time for crews to get cars turned around and prepared for the Sunday event.

Timmy Hill drove the #66 James Carter Attorney at Law / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry from 38th on the grid, a position earned by being the second-highest Open team in Cup car owner points, up to 35th by the checkered flag. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native managed to stay on the same lap as four other cars, but a caution-free Stage 3 did not present any additional opportunities to overtake those teams. This was the sixth Cup start at Pocono for Hill, and he has been running at the finish in all six.

►07/30/2020 - Cup Talladega Results

Rain forced the postponement of the NASCAR Cup Series event at Talladega Superspeedway until Monday. Timmy Hill piloted the #66 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry in the GEICO 500, starting from 38th position as the second-highest Open team in Cup car owner points. A red flag for precipitation interrupted the race late in Stage 1, but the series was still able to run all 500 miles, plus complete an overtime finish. Off-cycle pit strategy worked against the #66 MBM team, but Hill took the checkered flag on track in P33, finishing ahead of the other driver on his lap in NASCAR Overtime. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native recorded his best Cup result since the remarkable 19th place effort at Bristol and matches the third-best full-field Cup result for the #66 team in 2020 to date. NASCAR Statistics reported Hill set five fastest laps during the event.

►07/30/2020 - Xfinity Talladega Results

MBM Motorsports ran in the lead draft with two cars for the majority of the Unhinged 300 at Talladega Superspeedway, both fighting for positions in the Top 15.

Chad Finchum started his #13 Mohawk Market Toyota Supra from 30th and immediately went forward at the start, gaining an incredible eleven positions on the opening lap. The Knoxville, Tennessee native worked his way to 12th place by lap 8 and reached the competition caution in the Top 10. Finchum missed stage points by just one spot, taking the Stage 1 green-and-white checkered flag in P11. In total, Finchum completed 41 laps in the Top 15, more than one-third of the total race distance. After a P22 Stage 2 finish, the #13 spun on pit road entering his pit stall. The MBM crew went ahead and serviced the car facing the wrong direction on pit road, but still lost its track position. Finchum drove forward on the ensuing restarts and was running just outside the Top 15 when he got caught up in the accident that triggered the final caution flag of the race. The damage was severe enough to remove the 25-year-old from contention for a Top 15, but he got the car home on the lead lap in 22nd place. Finchum earned his first Talladega lead lap finish and just his second on a drafting track, the other coming with his strong P14 at Daytona in July 2018. With the P20 run by Max Tullman in 2019, MBM recorded a lead lap finish at Talladega for the second consecutive season.

Likewise, Timmy Hill had strong pace in his #61 RoofClaim.com Toyota Supra from the drop of the green flag. From a P33 grid position, Hill picked up ten positions on the opening lap. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native earned Top 25 finishes in both stages and appeared poised to compete for a great finish. Hill made a remarkable save around lap 77, narrowly avoiding the spinning car of #18 Riley Herbst and also dodging the outside retaining wall. The 27-year-old ran most of the remainder of his race inside the Top 20, but unfortunately got taken out in the accident that precipitated the final caution. The #61 lost the rear bumper cover and tail extension in the incident, which are required components for superspeedway racing. Consequently, NASCAR parked the #61, leaving Hill out of the race after 106 laps. He was credited with a 26th place finish in his sixth Xfinity start at Talladega.

John Jackson made his 2020 NASCAR debut in the #66 James Carter Attorney at Law / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Supra, sporting the same colors Max Tullman ran at Talladega one year prior. With his start, Jackson extends his streak of seasons with at least one Xfinity start to seven (beginning 2014). The #66 car was lined up 38th on the grid, though it did need a push start to get rolling as the starter would not engage. Jackson finished 31st in Stage 1 but retired shortly thereafter due to overheating concerns. In his second Xfinity race at Talladega, the Scotsman finished 39th.

►06/16/2020 - Cup Miami Results

Despite multiple early stoppages for lightning and heavy precipitation around the Homestead-Miami Speedway, the NASCAR Cup Series was able to complete its twelfth race of the 2020 campaign on Sunday as planned.

Timmy Hill returned to the #66 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry, starting 38th for the fourth straight event as the second-highest Open team in Cup car owner points. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native earned 36th and 35th place finishes in Stages 1 and 2, respectively. As expected, the car showed its strongest pace early in the race while running on sticker tires. Later in the event when using scuffed tires, the team preemptively executed a packer adjustment to compensate for the difference in vehicle travel on corner entry. Hill ran the majority of Stage 3 on a lap by himself and eventually took the checkered flag in 34th. It was the fourth race at Homestead for the MBM Cup program, and the #66 team has been running at the finish in its three most recent attempts at this track. The 257 circuits completed by Hill on Sunday is the most by an MBM Cup car here to date.

►06/16/2020 - Xfinity Miami Race 2 Results

Part two of the weekend doubleheader for the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Homestead-Miami Speedway proved successful for MBM Motorsports, as the team scored its first double Top 25 finish at this track.

Chad Finchum and the #13 team returned to their strong form from the first seven races of 2020 by leading the MBM trio. The #13 James Carter Attorney at Law / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry started 30th based on its finish in the Hooters 250 on Saturday and reached the competition caution in P32. The team pitted for eight lap scuffed tires, and while not sticker tires, they were several laps fresher than those of his on-track rivals who did not pit. Finchum drove up to a strong P15 by the Stage 1 conclusion. The Knoxville, Tennessee native lightly tapped the outside retaining wall in Stage 2 but kept running. With fast pit stops at both the yellow to end Stage 2 and under green on lap 124, Finchum showed strong pace in Stage 3, running the high majority of it inside the Top 25. He took what turned out to be the penultimate yellow in P22 and took advantage of the wavearound opportunity that was available. The 27-year-old took the checkered flag in P21, again resetting the best Xfinity result for MBM at Homestead after the #61 team broke the previous-best effort on Saturday. Finchum grabbed his best series finish since Fontana in February, seven races ago, as well as his fourth Top 21 and eighth Top 25 of the season. The Contender Boats 250 was his fifth Xfinity race at this track, and P21 was a personal-best here by nine positions.

Timmy Hill made it a pair of Top 25s on the weekend with another decent result for the #61 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native started 23rd based on his Saturday finish, and the MBM crew employed the same Stage 1 strategy again by pitting for new tires at the competition caution and seeking to acquire stage points. This time, the gamble was rewarded. Hill restarted 28th on lap 24 and drove by 16 competitors in just four laps to get to P12. The #61 entered the Top 10 on lap 31 and made the pass for 8th place on lap 37. It was a hard-fought battle, but Hill hung on and took the Stage 1 conclusion in P9, scoring two valuable stage points for the owner's championship.

The RoofClaim.com machine stayed in the Top 25 throughout Stage 2, finishing the segment in P24. Hill stayed on track until lap 129 for his green flag pit stop, running long in search of a caution that did not materialize. The penultimate caution did offer an opportunity for a wavearound, but having just been overtaken by the leaders, the yellow provided a chance for several rivals well behind him on track but now on his same lap to catch up. The backstretch wreck that necessitated the final caution flag of the race occurred just in front of Hill, who did a masterful job of slowing his car down to avoid the accident, but in doing so forfeited some track position. There was a huge scramble to pit road by all the lapped cars that took the wavearound under the previous yellow, as teams sought fresher tires to beat each other in the second overtime attempt. Hill restarted P25 and came within 64 thousandths of a second of P23, running side-by-side over the finish line with two competitors, but ultimately remained in P25 for the finish of his 194th Xfinity start. It is the second time in 2020 that Hill has achieved back-to-back Top 25 Xfinity finishes.

Stephen Leicht, making his 140th Xfinity start and sixth at Homestead, piloted the #66 Jani-King Toyota Supra from 36th on the grid based on Saturday. The Asheville, North Carolina driver experienced a lack of rear drive early in the event. The #66 crew checked under the rear of the car on pit road before heading to the garage with 9 laps completed. Leicht was classified 38th in the final rundown with handling as the listed reason for the retirement.

►06/16/2020 - Xfinity Miami Race 1 Results

The NASCAR Xfinity Series contested its first doubleheader weekend of the season at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, running full point, 250-mile events on both Saturday and Sunday.

The first event, the Hooters 250, saw Timmy Hill achieve the best result by an MBM Motorsports car at this circuit to that point. Driving the #61 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry, Hill started 28th and had a brilliant opening lap, advancing six positions up to P22. The run to the competition caution was much less pleasant, as Hill reported major handling problems in his Toyota. The team pitted at the competition caution for fresh rubber and major adjustments. After being scored in 29th position on lap 25, Hill rocketed his way through the field, reaching P18 by lap 29 and ultimately taking the Stage 1 green-and-white checkered in P11, just one position away from scoring a stage point.

Like and Follow MBM Motorsports on Facebook @MBMMotorsports.

Despite the tremendous drive forward, Hill continued to push for big adjustments on the radio, even having the crew look under the rear of the car for broken suspension components at the conclusion of Stage 2. He took the initial Stage 3 green flag in P28 and worked into the Top 25 by lap 109. The #61 team made their final pit stop under green at lap 124, and Hill continued to advance forward, reaching 22nd on lap 140. A late caution presented a wavearound opportunity for several cars, including the #61. Seven cars in total ran on the same lap as Hill for the finish, and the 27-year-old beat all but one of them back to the checkered flag, finishing P23. Hill captured his best Xfinity finish at Homestead since the 2013 season finale and delivered the first Xfinity Top 25 at this track for MBM Motorsports.

Chad Finchum should have been in that same battle in the #13 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry, but a late mechanical failure prevented that result. The Knoxville, Tennessee native started 19th and maintained his Top 20 status through to the competition caution, taking the yellow in P18. The #13 team did not pit and rode to the end of Stage 1 in a very respectable P25 on old tires. Finchum also earned a P23 Stage 2 finish, but as the race wore on, the car's handling changed dramatically, significantly tightening up as the track surface accumulated rubber. To further the difficulty, the #13 car lost power steering during the running of Stage 2. With a brutally tight racecar, Finchum drove hard and clung on to P28 coming to the final caution flag of the race. But suddenly, the car lost power, and the #13 team had to get a push back to the pits. The crew found that the alternator belt had been knocked off, a consequence of the failing power steering reservoir. The issue prevented the 25-year-old from finishing the event under power, instead taking P30 from the garage area, matching his best result at Homestead to that point.

The #66 Jani-King Toyota Supra debuted a striking new color combination at Homestead, as this particular chassis contested its first race weekend of the 2020 season. Stephen Leicht started the #66 car from 33rd and quickly came over the radio to say the car was "really darty" on corner entry. The Asheville, North Carolina native reported later in the opening run that the car remained loose on both entry and corner exit. He took the competition caution in P33 and completed Stage 1 in P32 on the lead lap. With the opportunity available, the #66 team chose to stay out an extra circuit under yellow, propelling them temporarily to the lead of the race on lap 43. Leicht restarted 33rd but had to retire the car after 49 laps with handling trouble. He finished 36th in his fifth Xfinity start at Homestead. 49 race laps completed is a personal-best for Leicht since the sport returned from the COVID-19 shutdown.

►06/12/2020 - Cup Martinsville Results

The Blue Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500 began exceptionally well for Timmy Hill and MBM Motorsports, but a mechanical issue prevented the pair from achieving a result representative of their strong early speed.

The eleventh race of the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series campaign took place on a Wednesday night at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia. The #66 James Carter Attorney at Law / CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry started 38th as the second-highest Open team in Cup car owner points. A competition caution was scheduled after the completion of lap 60, and the run up to it was one of the best displays of pace by the MBM Cup program so far. As better-funded teams either missed the setup or dramatically lost pace on older tires, Hill maintained his speed and drove forward, running lap times competitive with the Top 10 by the end of the stint. He raced up to P23 under green, then at the competition caution took the wavearound to be restored to the lead lap.

The Port Tobacco, Maryland native was positioned to restart P20, but mechanical trouble started to crop up even while still under the yellow. Hill reported a delayed response to his throttle input, which worsened at lower RPMs and as the race continued. The engine sputtered under caution, and under green on lap 71, Hill radioed to his crew that the car just "won't go off the corners." He lost power entirely under green later in the run and rolled to a stop on pit road, unable to reach his pit stall. The crew diagnosed the issue as a fuel pickup problem, caused by a failed fuel pump. With 105 laps complete, MBM had to retire the #66 from the race, finishing P39.

►06/12/2020 - Cup Atlanta Results

The #66 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry raced more than 250 laps of the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway but had to go to the garage before the checkered flag with an electrical issue.

Timmy Hill started 38th due to being the second-highest Open team in NASCAR Cup Series car owner points. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native dropped to the rear of the field prior to the start due to an unapproved adjustment during the impound. Running P35 at the Stage 1 competition caution, the #66 team opted to take the wavearound and get back on the lead lap.

The MBM crew jumped into action on lap 45 for a green flag pit stop, setting Hill on an alternate pit strategy for a big chunk of the race. The team made adjustments throughout the event to try to prevent the car from sliding the front tires in the center of the corners, while keeping the car well-balanced on corner entry and corner exit.

Late in the race, Hill made a routine green flag pit stop, but shortly after returning to the track had to come back down pit road. The driver reported all of his gauges looked good, but the car seemed to be down about 1000 RPMs. After checking the plug wires and not finding an issue, the decision was made to retire the car to prevent further internal damage to the car or motor. Hill finished 39th in his second premier series race at Atlanta. The DNF ended his and the team's consecutive finish streak at five events.

►06/12/2020 - Xfinity Atlanta Results

It was a difficult day for MBM Motorsports at the Atlanta Motor Speedway as the NASCAR Xfinity Series contested the Echo Park 250.

Timmy Hill returned to the #61 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry carrying the momentum from two Top 20s in two days at Bristol. Starting 29th based on a combination of owner points and random draw, Hill drove up to P25 by lap 5 and P22 by lap 7, clearly displaying the pace to compete for a Top 20 in the race. The 27-year-old was running P20 on lap 50 when he experienced a sudden loss of power, and the #61 team had to go the garage for repairs. The MBM crew did get the car back in the race and completed more than 30 additional laps before ultimately retiring with alternator issues. Hill ended his race 33rd.

Follow MBM Motorsports on Twitter @MBMMotorsports.

Chad Finchum experienced early mechanical trouble on his #13 Carter's Royal Dispos-All / Smithbilt Homes Toyota Supra. The Knoxville, Tennessee native pitted from P29 at the first caution for adjustments, but shortly after the green flag came back out, Finchum radioed in to say something felt very wrong in the right front of the car. The crew suspected a bad ball joint and headed to the garage to inspect it. The team was able to apply a temporary fix and get the #13 back on track for about 20 more circuits before the problem arose again. With a right front upper control arm issue, Finchum ended his race with 50 laps complete. He finished 34th.

Follow Chad Finchum on Twitter @ChadFinchum.

Stephen Leicht made his sixth start of the season in the #66 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry at Atlanta. Lined up 37th on the grid, the Asheville, North Carolina driver competed in his fifth Xfinity event at this track. It was a short race for the #66, as the team headed to the garage with 8 laps complete, citing clutch problems. Leicht was classified 36th in the final rundown.

►06/02/2020 - Xfinity Bristol Results

On the heels of his remarkable 19th place finish in the Cup race on Sunday, Timmy Hill scored P14 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race on Monday night with another terrific run in his #61 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native started in 25th position based partially on owner points and partially on a random draw conducted by NASCAR to finalize the starting order. From nearly the race start, Hill reported that his water temperature gauge seemed to be producing an unreliable value, and the crew diagnosed the problem as a possible wiring issue. Throughout the night, the #61 MBM team had mechanical challenges to overcome, including a throttle linkage problem that left the driver feeling like his throttle was hanging, significantly reducing his ability to modulate the accelerator. Hill, a veteran of 325 NASCAR national series starts entering the Cheddar's 300, had to make good use of his experience to keep the car in contention throughout the race.

As for the handling of the #61 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry, Hill fought a tight condition throughout the event, which leads to higher than desired right front tire wear. The 27-year-old took the Stage 1 green-and-white checkered flag in P20 and despite a spin after getting hit in the left rear by #78 Vinnie Miller, finished Stage 2 in P18 still on the lead lap. Concern grew around lap 187 when Hill came over the team radio to say he had a lot of tire smoke in the car, but the spotter did not observe any external signs of a tire rub, so the #61 stayed out on the track and kept turning laps. A fortuitous sequence of cautions late in the race enabled Hill to pick up the free pass with the yellow flag on lap 256, and he took advantage of it by entering the Top 15 on lap 265 and remaining there through the conclusion of the race. Ultimately, the RoofClaim.com took 14th place at the checkered flag, the best-finish for the MBM #61 team in 2020. It is the second-best finish by an MBM Xfinity car at Bristol, only behind Hill's monumental 7th place run from August 2019. Hill achieved just the ninth Xfinity lead lap result in MBM team history on a non-drafting oval. The driver collected his 10th Top 15 in his 191st Xfinity start.

The #13 Smithbilt Homes / Toyota of Knoxville Toyota Camry driven by Chad Finchum showed incredible pace early in the race. He started 17th, a one position improvement over his previous best grid position at his home track. The Knoxville, Tennessee native competed inside the Top 15 for many of the early laps, taking the restart on lap 15 in P11 and reaching the lap 35 competition caution in P13 despite a tight handling condition. The 25-year-old finished Stage 1 in P19, but then went forward in the early laps of Stage 2, again turning laps while running inside the Top 15. It appeared Finchum was well on his way to a season-best result when an electrical fire erupted under the dashboard of the #13 Toyota around lap 155. The team was forced to go to the garage, but the MBM crew made repairs and returned the car to the track within 25 laps of the leaders. The #13 team took advantage of the high attrition to salvage P24 from the evening, extending their streak to seven consecutive Top 25 finishes to start 2020. Finchum now stands 20th in driver points and has been in the Top 20 for six consecutive races, a streak beginning at Las Vegas.

After not competing at Charlotte, Stephen Leicht returned to the #66 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry for Bristol, starting from the 37th position. Drama began for the team before the pace car had even left the grid, as the driver and one crew member struggled to secure the window net. The team got the problem corrected, enabling Leicht to take the race start on track. The Asheville, North Carolina native reported the car was dragging the left front splitter hard on the concrete track surface. Leicht moved up to P31 by lap 19 but shortly thereafter headed behind the wall with suspension trouble. The 33-year-old wound up 34th, completing 23 laps before retiring.

►06/01/2020 - Cup Bristol Results

Timmy Hill and MBM Motorsports both achieved their second-best ever finishes in the NASCAR Cup Series at the Bristol Motor Speedway, as Hill drove the #66 Pit Boss Grills Toyota Camry to an astonishing 19th place, lead lap finish.

The starting grid for the Food City Presents the Supermarket Heroes 500 was set by NASCAR based on a combination of owner points and random draw. As the second highest Open car in owner points entered in the event, the #66 was placed 38th in the starting lineup. From the start of the race, Hill immediately demonstrated good pace from his Pit Boss Grills machine, completing lap 4 in P31, up seven positions already. The MBM crew made adjustments at his pit stop during the second competition caution, attempting to help a tight condition from the center of the corners through corner exit.

The Port Tobacco, Maryland native picked up a lead lap, P25 Stage 2 finish with the use of one wavearound and two free pass awards to that point in the event. Hill kept the #66 inside the Top 25 for the remainder of the race, and a rash of late cautions enabled another wavearound opportunity and two more free pass awards to restore Hill to the lead lap. The MBM crew pitted for fresh tires under the final caution flag of the race, as 22 teams took the final restart on the lead lap, and the possibility of a Top 20 finish loomed large for the Statesville, North Carolina operation.

Hill took the restart in P22 on lap 495 and vaulted up to P19 by the checkered flag, a monumental result for the MBM Motorsports Cup program. It is the best-result in Cup for both driver and team since their historic 14th place run together at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2017. For Hill, now a veteran of 101 premier series races, his 18-position improvement from race start to race finish is his third-best performance in Cup. He records his fifth lead lap result in a full-distance Cup points race. It is also the third-ever lead lap for MBM Motorsports in Cup, following on from Indy 2017 and the Charlotte Roval in 2019.

The driver said on team radio after the checkered flag that this was "the best Cup car I've had here," referencing Bristol, and he took to social media to say he can see the improvement in the team with each week. Next up on the schedule for the #66 and the rest of the NASCAR Cup Series garage is a race in Hampton, Georgia at the Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday, June 7th.

►06/01/2020 - Cup Charlotte II Results

Remnants of Tropical Storm Bertha rained out the Alsco Uniforms 500 from its original Wednesday, May 27th date. Instead, the NASCAR Cup Series teams returned to the Charlotte Motor Speedway for a Thursday night, 500-kilometer race.

Timmy Hill drove the #66 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry, successfully completing his streak of running in all seven NASCAR national touring series events since the sport has resumed following the COVID-19 pandemic. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native started this event from 34th based on his finish in the Coca-Cola 600 at the same track over Memorial Day weekend. Lightning near the track and more rain in Stage 1 of the race on Thursday necessitated a red flag that lasted 74 minutes.

Hill restarted the race still on the lead lap in P35 and kept the RoofClaim.com machine in front of #7 Josh Bilicki to earn the free pass at the Stage 1 conclusion. The MBM crew made adjustments to tighten the #66 Toyota up at the pit stop, and for much of the rest of the night, Hill found himself happy with the balance of the car. Concern rose after Hill observed his battery voltage dropping on his digital dashboard output. To conserve battery life, Hill had to turn off his helmet blower around the end of Stage 1, competing in the remainder of the race without that driver aid.

The team took advantage of the wavearound opportunity at the end of Stage 2, knowing they needed to make just one further pit stop to reach the checkered flag. The #66 actually ran out of fuel coming to pit road on lap 144, but the team was able to get the car restarted with minimal time loss. In the final laps, Hill was catching #77 J.J. Yeley, and the 27-year-old pulled off a successful overtake on lap 204, inside the final five laps.

The battery survived until the race finish, and with his late pass Hill claimed P33 at the checkered flag in his 100th premier series start. On the radio after taking the finish, Hill commented to his team "this is the best car we've had on a 1.5-mile in quite a while." The #66 has now been running at the finish of four consecutive premier series races, a feat the team has now accomplished for only the second time since 2017.

►06/01/2020 - Xfinity Charlotte Results

The NASCAR Xfinity Series conducted its second race back since the COVID-19-induced shutdown at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Memorial Day. The Alsco 300 starting lineup was set partially by owner points and partially by random draw, as again this week no practice or qualifying was held prior to the race start. MBM Motorsports crews handled two entries, the #13 and #66, as Hattori Racing Enterprises took care of Austin Hill in the #61 for this event.

Chad Finchum showed great speed in Stage 1 and survived several mechanical problems to capture a strong finish in his #13 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry. NASCAR assigned the #13 car the 13th starting position, the third Top 15 start of Finchum's 76 race Xfinity Series career to date. The Knoxville, Tennessee native captured a P21 finish in Stage 1, running very competitive lap times. The handling on the car went away drastically during Stage 2, which the crew found out later was due to a broken shock. For the rest of the race, the 25-year-old dealt with an extremely free racecar. Electrical gremlins also cropped up by the conclusion of Stage 2, leaving Finchum with no RPM gauge to judge his pit road speed, among other issues. In Stage 3, the driver reported the car was being prevented from reaching full power, a consequence of that electrical problem. But despite all the mechanical headaches, the #13 team soldiered on, and as stated on the team radio, "against all odds," Finchum took the checkered flag on track in P22. The finish extends the Top 25 streak to start 2020 for both driver and team up to six events, easily a career-long for Finchum. The #13 team stands 21st in the owner point tables, and Finchum remains 19th in driver championship standings.

Timmy Hill piloted the #66 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry and showed tremendous pace in the latter portions of Stage 1 especially. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native started 25th and found himself in 26th at the competition caution. The team pitted and made a track bar adjustment, and on the ensuing run Hill stormed forward, finishing Stage 1 inside the Top 15. The race continued to run smoothly for the RoofClaim.com machine through Stage 2, which Hill finished in P18 and in the free pass position, restoring him to the lead lap for the beginning of Stage 3. With the car handling a bit too tight throughout most of the night, the MBM crew made an adjustment to free the car up on the green flag pit stop at lap 148, the final scheduled pit stop service. The #66 re-entered the Top 20 shortly after its pit stop and appeared headed for a strong result, when entering Turn 3 the engine grenaded, sending up a massive plume of white smoke and spilling oil on the track. Hill did a masterful job of driving to keep the car under control with oil coating his rear tires, but the night still ended prematurely. With 151 laps recorded, Hill ended up P34 in the final rundown.

Austin Hill also experienced poor luck late in the race, driving the #61 AISIN Group Toyota Supra for Hattori Racing Enterprises. The highlight of the race for the Winston, Georgia driver was probably a P16 Stage 1 finish. He ended Stage 2 in P21 and was in contention for a Top 20 finish in Stage 3 when entering Turn 1, he cut down a right front tire, placing the car on a direct path to the outside retaining wall. #51 Jeremy Clements was also caught up in the incident. #61 Hill had to retire from the event with crash damage after 173 laps, finishing P33.

►05/25/2020 - Cup Charlotte I Results

The third race for the NASCAR Cup Series since its season resumption was one of American stock car racing's crown jewel events: the Coca-Cola 600 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. As with both races held in the prior seven days at Darlington following the COVID-19 shutdown, no spectators were admitted to the facility and no practice was held prior to the race. This event did feature a return of qualifying to set the 40-car starting lineup, consisting of the usual single-car, single-lap format for oval tracks.

Timmy Hill was the third driver to hit the track in his #66 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry and pulled off an impressive 172.889 MPH lap. He went to provisional pole at the time of his run, beat all of the other Open (non-chartered) cars entered in the event, and wound up 32nd quickest overall. P32 marked a personal-best starting position in a full-distance Cup race for Hill on the Charlotte oval. Both the Port Tobacco, Maryland native and his MBM Motorsports team each matched their second-best starting spots in the Cup series at any circuit, bettered only by a P27 grid position at Pocono in 2018.

The strong qualifying performance did not translate into his actual on-track starting spot, as Hill was one of several drivers who were required to drop to the rear of the field before the start due to unapproved adjustments during the impound period. Almost immediately after the drop of the green flag, Hill reported the #66 Toyota was extremely tight, especially in Turns 3 and 4. The team took advantage of a wavearound opportunity at the competition caution before settling into a P37 running position early in the event.

Rain interrupted the race at lap 50, forcing NASCAR to display the red flag and halt the event. The red was withdrawn after 68 minutes of downtime, and the race resumed without much incident. Suddenly, on lap 94, Hill came over the team radio to say he had a bad vibration that was worsening by the corner. Despite the end of Stage 1 being just a few laps away, the 27-year-old had to get to pit road. Upon inspection after the pit stop, the crew discovered they had a loose wheel. Another loose wheel early in Stage 2 forced another green flag pit stop, which placed the #66 on an alternate pit strategy for much of the remainder of the event.

Follow MBM Motorsports on Twitter @MBMMotorsports.

The RoofClaim.com machine still trended towards a tight handling condition on the long runs, but the MBM crew did improve it as the race wore on. The team took wavearounds at all three stage breaks and made their final green flag stop around lap 344.

A late caution for a spinning William Byron in Turn 2 set up an interesting scenario for the finish. At the moment of caution, Hill was one lap ahead of the StarCom Racing #00 driven by Quin Houff. The #00 had the opportunity for a wavearound that the #66 did not based on track position, returning Houff to the same lap as Hill for NASCAR Overtime. In an effort to beat the #00 in the green-white-checkered scenario, Hill pitted for low temperature, 20-lap scuffed tires and took the restart ahead of Houff. There was only 0.217 seconds in it at the checkered flag, but Hill got the MBM car across the stripe in front for P35 on the road. A post-race disqualification for a competitor elevated Hill to 34th in the final classification of his fourth Coca-Cola 600. The MBM #66 has now been running at the end of all three events post-shutdown, a first three consecutive on-track finish stretch for Hill since Kansas-Charlotte-Michigan in 2018.

►05/24/2020 - Xfinity Darlington Results

After a more than two-month hiatus forced by the COVID-19 pandemic and an additional two-delay due to persistent rain across the Carolinas, the NASCAR Xfinity Series was finally able to run its fifth event of the 2020 season at Darlington on Thursday. Just as with the premier series, the Xfinity teams completed their race without practice, without qualifying, and without fans in attendance.

MBM Motorsports fielded three cars in the Toyota 200, which will replace the planned June 20th event at Chicagoland Speedway. In the interest of fairness, NASCAR announced an expansion to the maximum field capacity for all races held in the near future without qualifying, up from 36 at the season start to 40 cars, as every national division attempts to get its season restarted. The starting lineup for this race was determined in part by owner points and then by a random draw in groups of twelve.

Timmy Hill is one of just two drivers (Kyle Busch) attempting to compete in all of the first seven NASCAR national series races being held between Darlington and Charlotte since the season resumption. His third race of those seven saw him compete in the #61 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry. Hill started 28th but immediately progressed through the field, running 19th at the lap 15 competition caution. A pit road penalty sent him to the tail end of the longest line for the restart, but again Hill quickly advanced through the competition. He had re-entered the Top 25 by lap 29, reached 22nd by lap 32, and finished Stage 1 up in 18th place.

On their pit stop at the Stage 1 caution, the #61 team made a packer adjustment in the left front and added tape to the grill. A long green-flag run followed in Stage 2, and Hill started fast but fell back to 23rd at the Stage 2 finish. The crew made a major track bar adjustment, and it proved enough to remain just one lap down to the leaders when the fifth and final yellow flag of the race came out. Hill was able to take advantage of the wavearound opportunity and get back onto the lead lap for the final run. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native took the checkered flag in 22nd for his personal-best Xfinity finish at this track since he reached 16th in 2012 for Rick Ware Racing. The #61 team achieved its third consecutive Top 25 and have jumped up from 35th to 28th in the owner points over that stretch.

Chad Finchum continued his impressive and consistent start to the 2020 season in his #13 Great Southern Homes Toyota Supra. The random draw for qualifying placed Finchum 24th in the starting lineup for his third race at Darlington. He had gained two positions by the competition caution and finished Stage 1 in 21st. Finchum reported that his brake pedal had gotten quite soft and the team debated whether it was necessary to bleed the brakes, which would have improved the car's stopping power but would have taken the team out of contention for a strong finish. The Knoxville, Tennessee native decided to stay on the racetrack and keep pumping the brakes as frequently as possible to keep some pedal pressure.

On the green flag run in Stage 2, Finchum maintained his pace quite well as other cars wore through their tires at a greater rate, and it gave the 25-year-old the chance to make several overtakes and fight for the free pass position. He finished Stage 2 in 21st and came up just one position shy of getting his lap back. On the restart, Finchum maintained 21st and ran in the free pass position for numerous laps, until all of a sudden the car became extremely loose. The final caution flag of the race came at a fortunate time for the #13, as the team remained just one lap behind and could take the wavearound to return to the lead lap. Wavearound cars are not permitted to pit though, so Finchum had to soldier the car home to the finish with that wicked loose condition. Despite losing a significant portion of his brakes and driving through what the crew discovered to be a slowly deflating right rear tire after the race, Finchum got the car home in P24, scoring his fifth consecutive Top 25 finish to begin 2020. It was his first lead lap result since the Charlotte Roval in 2018, and MBM achieved its first double lead-lap finish since Indianapolis in 2019.

Follow Chad Finchum on Twitter @ChadFinchum.

Stephen Leicht had a short day in the #66 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry. Leicht started 37th but immediately after the drop of the green flag came over the radio to say that there was a mechanical issue in the front suspension of the car. Radio communication indicated the car was "wandering off the left front," and the team decided the issue was severe enough to necessitate a visit to the garage. Leicht completed one lap before retiring from the event. His fourth Xfinity start at Darlington resulted in a 39th place finish.

►05/21/2020 - Cup Darlington II Results

For the second time in a four day span, the NASCAR Cup Series contested a full-points, one-day event at the Darlington Raceway in Darlington, South Carolina with no practice, no qualifying, and no spectators permitted due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Timmy Hill drove the #66 RoofClaim.com Toyota Camry to a second consecutive 33rd place finish in the Toyota 500, a 500 kilometer event that followed the 400 miler contested on Sunday, May 17. Based on his finishing position in The Real Heroes 400 on Sunday, the Port Tobacco, Maryland native earned the 33rd starting spot for Wednesday night. The team stayed on the lead lap through the competition caution, when the #66 pitted for fuel and adjustments. Hill said the car was good on corner entry, but a little tight in the center. On lap 49, Hill came back over the radio to say he was now loose on throttle from the center off, and the MBM crew worked to fine-tune the car's handling on the remaining pit stops throughout the night.

Caution flags seemed to fall at inopportune times during certain phases of the race for the #66 Toyota. The team was able to take advantage of one wavearound opportunity on lap 112, near the end of Stage 2. For much of the evening, Hill was locked in a battle with the #53 Rick Ware Racing Chevrolet, driven by Garrett Smithley. Hill followed Smithley closely during the green flag run to start Stage 3 and pulled off the overtake on lap 175. Then around lap 178, the #66 pitted, before the #53, for its scheduled green flag pit stop, meaning the #66 should have been returned to the track on fresh rubber and been able to extend the gap over their competitor. However, while Hill was on pit road, a spin in Turn 2 precipitated a yellow flag, causing Hill to lose his track position over the #53. The timing of subsequent cautions returned Hill and Smithley to the same lap, and they fought each other until the final yellow flag of the race came out and heavier rain returned to the Darlington Raceway. Ultimately, Hill beat Smithley in the tight, race-long battle for what became P33 in the final rundown.

In its five attempts to date at this circuit, the MBM Cup car has been running at the finish in four, including the last three consecutive races.

►05/18/2020 - Cup Darlington I Results

On May 17th, the NASCAR Cup Series became the first major world motorsport to resume racing following the novel coronavirus-induced global shutdown. Cup teams competed at the Darlington Raceway in South Carolina, a location within driving distance of the sport's base, in a one-day event with no practice, no qualifying, and no spectators. Every competitor and crew member on site had to comply with a mandatory health screening to enter the facility, wear cloth masks throughout the event, and practice social distancing.

MBM Motorsports fielded the #66 RoofClaim.com Toyota for Timmy Hill, one of 40 drivers to start The Real Heroes 400. The Port Tobacco, Maryland driver gained a significant following through his participation and success in the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series, a collaborative effort between NASCAR, iRacing and FOX Sports that featured NASCAR drivers competing virtually on iRacing weekly during the shutdown. Hill has driven on iRacing for years, racking up more than 450 poles and 670 wins from fewer than 1,700 official races. That success translated immediately into the Invitational races, with Hill competing upfront and leading 13 laps in the series opening event at the virtual Homestead-Miami Speedway. The next week at virtual Texas Motor Speedway, Hill gave William Bryon the bump-and-run with just three laps to go to take over the race lead and reach victory lane in a thrilling battle to the checkered flag. The Pro Invitational Series concluded with seven events, and Hill finished all seven on the lead lap in the Top 12, including a fantastic six Top 3 finishes.

Timmy Hill and MBM Motorsports Texas win banner.

Since the MBM #66 is not a chartered entry, Hill was assigned 38th on the starting grid, as the second highest Open car in points entered in the event at Darlington. The 27-year-old fought an extremely tight racecar in the opening segment of the race. At the competition caution in Stage 1, the MBM crew made a packer adjustment and did improve the handling of the racecar, but Hill would continue to experience a push, especially in the center of the corners.

Like and Follow MBM Motorsports on Facebook @MBMMotorsports.

Early in Stage 2, Hill made an unscheduled green flag pit stop for a loose wheel, trapping him a lap behind the competitors he had been racing for position most of the event. A series of cautions in Stage 2 and frequent pit stops by the lead lap cars for fresh tires enabled the team to take four wavearounds, as they worked to regain the laps lost under green. The team had to gamble and stretch the fuel mileage to reach the end of Stage 2 and still take all available wavearounds, but they made it to the green and white checkered flag under power and were finally able to get back on the same pit stop cycle as their competitors.

Follow MBM Motorsports on Twitter @MBMMotorsports.

The tenth and final caution of the race led to a restart around lap 260. Hill restarted on the same lap as #7 Josh Bilicki of Tommy Baldwin Racing, and the #66 RoofClaim.com Toyota beat the #7 to the checkered flag for 33rd position. The result is the best finish for the MBM Cup program since Hill earned 27th in the season opening Daytona 500 and best finish on an intermediate track since the 2019 season finale at Homestead, where Hill also came home 33rd. The #66 has taken the checkered flag on track in two of its last three races.

►05/16/2020 - Cup Phoenix Results

MBM Motorsports demonstrated improved pace in its NASCAR Cup Series program at Phoenix over the two prior stops on the West Coast swing, but its race ended prematurely with motor issues.

Timmy Hill drove the #66 Pit Boss Grills Toyota Camry in the fourth Cup attempt at Phoenix for MBM. The Port Tobacco, Maryland driver, making his seventh Cup start at this track, placed 35th quickest in Practice 2 on Friday, competitive with several chartered teams on speed. Hill picked up more than eight tenths of a second from his best practice lap in qualifying on Saturday, though his 130.510 MPH speed left him 38th on the grid.

The 27-year-old took the green flag of his 96th full-distance premier series points race on Sunday, fighting with the Rick Ware Racing #51 and #53 cars, driven by Garrett Smithley and Joey Gase, for position early in the race. Engine trouble presented itself for the #66 car around lap 50, forcing Hill to take the Pit Boss Grills machine to the garage for repairs. The MBM crew did return the car to the track and registered two more laps completed before ultimately retiring the car with terminal engine problems. Hill was classified 38th in the final rundown.

►05/16/2020 - Xfinity Phoenix Results

All three MBM Motorsports qualified on time for the LS Tractor 200 at Phoenix Raceway, the fourth race on the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule, which featured a strong entry list of 39 cars competing for 36 available starting spots.

In addition to primary sponsorship on the #66 Cup car, Pit Boss Grills decals featured on the #61 Xfinity team. Timmy Hill practiced 28th and 26th fastest in the two Friday sessions, leaving him on the edge in the discussion for teams trying to make the Top 31 in qualifying. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native turned up an advantageous late qualifying draw (36th) and locked into the Top 31 on his first lap. He picked up a bit more speed on lap 2, for a total gain of nearly three-quarters of a second from his best practice time, earning him the 30th starting spot and safe to the Top 31 by nine hundredths. Hill completed Stage 2 of the race in 26th, crucially still on the lead lap and well-positioned for Stage 3. The #61 Pit Boss Grills Toyota Camry reached the checkered flag in 23rd position for Hill to claim his third Xfinity Top 25 at this track, and first since 2013.

Chad Finchum competed at Phoenix in the Xfinity Series for the fifth time, this race piloting the #13 Sharelife Vacations Toyota Camry. The Knoxville, Tennessee native ran 15 laps in Practice 2 and placed 31st fastest. He picked up an incredible 1.257 seconds in lap time on his qualifying run, beating #99 J.J. Yeley for the final spot in the race on time by a mere nine thousandths of a second. The #13 team steadily moved forward during the race. They finished Stage 2 in 29th and advanced to 24th by the checkered flag. Finchum beat every other car on his lap at the finish, securing him his fourth consecutive Top 25 to start the 2020 season. Through four races, Finchum has gained 40 positions over his starting spot in his finishes. The 25-year-old sits 19th in the Driver's Championship point standings.

Stephen Leicht put down an excellent lap in Practice 1, taking his #66 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry to P17 on the speed charts. He qualified 25th quickest, best of the three-car MBM effort and the highest starting position for the #66 car in the young 2020 season. The Asheville, North Carolina native finished Stage 2 in 32nd and completed 101 laps in the event before retiring with clutch trouble. Leicht finished 33rd in his 11th Xfinity start at Phoenix Raceway.

Timmy Hill drove the MBM Motorsports #66 car to its first on-track checkered flag in a full-distance Cup race of the 2020 season at the Auto Club Speedway.

The Port Tobacco, Maryland native completed five practice laps on Friday and picked up about 1.5 seconds from his practice best on his qualifying lap. The #66 Manscaped / LasVegas.net Toyota Camry lined up 37th on the grid for the Auto Club 400.

In taking the green flag, Hill started his fourth premier series event at Fontana, competing for his third different Cup team at this track. The MBM Cup program raced at Fontana for just the second time, having made their Fontana debut in 2019 with Joey Gase behind the wheel. Hill ran a clean race, but the car lacked pace compared to his immediate rivals. He finished 37th, on a lap by himself after completing 184 of the 200 possible circuits.

The team is seeking to be even more competitive at Phoenix Raceway, the next stop on the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series schedule and final stop of the early season West Coast swing. MBM Motorsports will welcome Pit Boss Grills as the primary marketing partner for the FanShield 500.

►03/04/2020 - Xfinity Fontana Results

Two MBM Motorsports affiliated cars scored Top 20 finishes in the Production Alliance Group 300 at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.

Full-time NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series driver Austin Hill returned to pilot the #61 AISIN Group Toyota Supra for his second Xfinity race of the season as part of the season long collaboration between Hattori Racing Enterprises and MBM Motorsports on the #61 car. At Daytona, the #61 was crewed primarily by Hattori employees, but at Fontana, both the car and crew were supplied from the MBM stables despite the Hattori branding. Hill showed strong pace in Friday practice, placing 14th and 16th fastest in the two sessions. From his best Friday lap, the 25-year-old picked up more than one second in qualifying to reach a speed of 175.953 miles per hour, earning him an Xfinity series career-best P15 starting spot for his third series event.

Hill stayed in the Top 20 for the entire duration of the race, averaging a running position of 15.1 and completing 63 laps in the Top 15. The Winston, Georgia native executed the ninth most green flag passes of any driver in the field and reached as high as 6th place in Stage 3. After settling into a 9th place running position with less than 40 laps to go, the #61 cut down a right front tire and was forced to make an unscheduled green flag pit stop, preventing the team from reaching a Top 15 finish. Ultimately Hill took the checkered flag in 16th place, the best finish for the #61 team to date in 2020 and the best race result for an MBM-affiliated car ever at Fontana.

Chad Finchum entered Fontana with new sponsorship on the hood of his #13 Manscaped Toyota Camry after a strong start to 2020. The Knoxville, Tennessee native placed an impressive 19th quickest in Practice 1 on Friday and qualified P27 at a time of 41.972 seconds, picking up just over two tenths of a second from practice. He finished Stage 1 in P23 before having to overcome some pit road challenges with a clutch problem. Finchum saved his car after #5 Matt Mills spun off his left rear quarterpanel early in Stage 3 and got the #13 to the finish in 20th place. The result is a personal-best for Finchum on a 2-mile track. The 25-year-old remains in the Top 20 in the Driver's Championship, and the #13 car stands a very solid 23rd in the owner points.

Leicht completed Stage 1 in 34th and got the #66 though Stage 2, but he was forced to the garage area just past the halfway mark with fuel pump issues. With 78 laps complete, the 33-year-old finished 35th in his eighth Xfinity start at this track.

►02/25/2020 - Cup Las Vegas Results

The Pennzoil 400 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway ended prematurely for MBM Motorsports and veteran driver Timmy Hill.

Hill did not complete a lap in Practice 1, as the Port Tobacco, Maryland native focused on making the field for the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series race. After masterfully qualifying 11th place in his own #56 truck, Hill slid back over to the Cup garage to take the #66 Manscaped / LasVegas.net Toyota Camry out onto the track in Practice 2. He completed 10 laps, with a fastest speed of 164.109 MPH.

The only on-track activity scheduled for the NASCAR Cup Series on Saturday was qualifying, but rain throughout the morning forced the session to be canceled. The starting lineup was set according to the NASCAR rulebook, primarily based on the 2019 owner point standings, leaving Hill 38th on the grid.

The #66 Toyota made 175 laps in the race before being forced to the garage with mechanical issues. The MBM crew noticed the car was leaking fluid around the midway point, and despite trying to continue, the rear gear burned up early in Stage 3. Hill finished 38th.

►02/25/2020 - Xfinity Las Vegas Results

MBM Motorsports competed with three Toyota Camrys in the Boyd Gaming 300 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in a race that took two days to complete due to rain showers.

A single 80-minute practice session was scheduled for Friday afternoon. Timmy Hill got on track for seven laps in the #61 CrashClaimsR.US Toyota Camry and placed 26th fastest. One other MBM car got on track to practice, as Chad Finchum made 22 laps and wound up 29th quickest of the 36 cars. Unlike Daytona, 36 cars were entered at Las Vegas to fill the maximum starting grid of 36 spots, so no drivers would be in danger of missing the race come qualifying. That time trial session never took place though, as rain moved into the Las Vegas area Saturday morning and forced NASCAR to cancel qualifying and set the lineup according to the rulebook.

Knoxville, Tennessee native Finchum started 34th based on the NASCAR rulebook and jumped up several positions at the drop of the green flag. The 25-year-old finished Stage 1 in 25th before the rain arrived again, forcing a red flag and sending the resumption of the race to Sunday afternoon. Finchum took advantage of a free pass award during Stage 2 and converted it into a 21st place finish, matching his result here from March 2019. He is presently a strong 19th in driver points, his first time ever holding a championship place in the Top 20. Additionally, two Top 25s to start 2020 has the #13 in a tremendous 20th position in the owner point standings.

Based on its standing in the 2019 owner points, the #61 car earned P29 to start the race. Hill completed Stage 1 in 27th position, one lap down to the leaders when a red flag came out due to precipitation. The race resumed on Sunday in Stage 2 and Hill spent time running in the free pass position should a caution flag be displayed, but the Port Tobacco, Maryland native had to make an unscheduled pit stop for a loose wheel. Hill wound up 26th at the checkered flag, the only driver on his lap at the conclusion of the event.

Stephen Leicht piloted the third MBM Motorsports Xfinity entry at Las Vegas, making his first attempt of the 2020 NASCAR season and his MBM debut. Leicht ran all 33 races on the 2019 Xfinity calendar for JD Motorsports and was a veteran of 132 Xfinity races entering the weekend. His first outing with MBM got off to a rocky start on Friday, as the car did not clear technical inspection in time to get on the track for practice. With qualifying canceled, Leicht had no competitive laps on the track prior to taking the green flag to start the race. He officially lined up 30th on the grid but dropped to the rear for the start due to the lack of track time. The Asheville, North Carolina driver ended Stage 1 in 33rd and resumed racing on Sunday, but the #66 would be forced to the garage with suspension issues just after passing the halfway point of the race. Leicht finished 34th.

►02/19/2020 - Cup Daytona 500 Results

Timmy Hill made his Daytona 500 debut aboard the #66 VSI Racing / RoofClaim.com Ford Mustang. The team had a bit of a scare on the grid when the engine would not start following the command. After diagnosing a possible battery issue, the car finally cranked, and Hill was able to roll off and take his position in the starting lineup. Thereafter, the Port Tobacco, Maryland native had a brilliant start to the race, quickly slicing his way up through the field. From an official starting spot of P32, Hill advanced ten positions on the first lap of the race, entered the Top 20 shortly thereafter, and by lap 5 had already rocketed up to 10th place overall. The field got into a single-file formation and Hill rode in that position until the yellow flag and eventually the red flag were displayed for rain soaking the Daytona International Speedway after 20 laps of the Daytona 500. NASCAR postponed the remainder of the race until the following afternoon at 4:00 p.m. ET.

When the race restarted on Monday, Hill immediately hit his pit box and the MBM Motorsports crew went to work on repairing a broken fender brace. They got the damage fixed and sent Hill back on track. Hill stayed on the lead lap through the entirety of the first two Stages and remained within sight of the leaders until his green flag pit stop in Stage 3. The #66 had a long pit stop and consequently lost a lap during the sequence. A late caution flag for a multi-car crash at the end of the backstretch set up a dash to the finish. Hill restarted in the Top 25, competing with a few other teams for the free pass award should another yellow flag come out. Unfortunately, exiting Turn 2, #27 Reed Sorenson blew a tire, sending a shower of sparks out from behind the rear of his car and placing the #27 on a trajectory towards the outside retaining wall. Hill was running to the outside of Sorenson when this took place, and the #66 got collected in the incident. The VSI Racing / RoofClaim.com Ford Mustang suffered heavy nose and right-side damage. The MBM crew made the best repairs they could to the car under the Damaged Vehicle Policy, and Hill was able to complete several laps after the incident before eventually being forced to retire the car due to crash damage. With 200 of the eventual 209 laps complete, Hill finished 27th and earned the #66 MBM team 10 points in the owner standings. P27 is a personal-best for Hill in the premier series since his remarkable P14 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2017, and the result matches his third-best Cup result overall in his 93rd series start.

►02/19/2020 - Xfinity Daytona Results

It was a roller coaster of a weekend in the Xfinity garage for the MBM Motorsports teams at the Daytona International Speedway, but it was capped with Timmy Hill scoring a spectacular, career-best 3rd place finish in the NASCAR Racing Experience 300.

The low point of the weekend came on Saturday morning, when NASCAR announced the #66 Xfinity team would be assessed an L2 penalty for "manipulating bodywork" on the nose of the car. The L2 penalty means crew chief Sebastian LaForge was suspended from the Xfinity garage for six races, MBM Motorsports is assessed a fine of $50,000, and the #66 team is docked 75 points in the Xfinity series owner points. Team owner Carl Long told FOX Sports reporter Bob Pockrass that an oversight occurred when the car was sent to be painted. This particular nose was being reused from previous race events, and the paint shop applied a body filler to a small area near the headlight decal. This was an inadvertent error made in the rush to reach Daytona, and as a result, MBM will not appeal the penalty.

NASCAR levied these penalties just minutes before Xfinity Series qualifying on Saturday morning. 40 cars arrived in Daytona to compete for 36 spots, the new for 2020 maximum Xfinity field capacity, down from 38 in 2019. Two full-fledged MBM cars were attempting to qualify for this event: Timmy Hill in the #66 VSI Racing / RoofClaim.com Toyota Supra and Chad Finchum in the #13 Garrison Homes / Toyota of Knoxville Toyota Supra.

Two practices were held Friday afternoon prior to qualifying and the race on Saturday. MBM split the strategies in Practice 1, with Hill going out in a pack and working on drafting, while Finchum worked on mock qualifying runs and single car speed. For all 2020 Xfinity races, in order for a driver and team to guarantee themselves a position in the field, they must be one of the 31 fastest qualifiers for the event. The final five positions are awarded through the Provisional system, primarily determined according to owner points. For the first three races of 2020, owner points from 2019 are used to determine the provisionals.

Timmy Hill qualified into the Top 31 by 19 hundredths of a second, lapping the 2.5-mile oval at 184.294 MPH. Chad Finchum made his lap of 183.240 MPH, but came up short of the Top 31 by less than one tenth of a second. Finchum had to wait for every car to complete its qualifying lap before he knew for certain, but finally the news came that the #13 team had indeed received the final owner points provisional and would be competing in the 300-miler later that afternoon.

Hill started 26th and immediately began working forward. He finished Stage 1 in 17th and Stage 2 in 16th, regularly competing in the lead pack. During the green flag pit stop cycle in Stage 3, Hill stayed out one lap longer than most of the drivers he was actively racing and led lap 81 of the event. Once everyone had completed their final scheduled pit stop, Hill ran in the 10th position, drafting in a pack with three other lead lap cars about 14 seconds behind the leader. A late caution closed the field together, and Hill took the lap 114 restart from 9th place. On that same lap, another multi-car incident struck at the end of the backstretch, setting up the final restart of the race.

The #66 Toyota Supra lined up P6 in the outside line, directly behind fellow Toyota driver #20 Harrison Burton. Hill decided to draft with Burton, and that decision really paid off in Turns 3 and 4 on lap 119. Coming to the white flag, Hill had pushed Burton into a clear P2 and gotten himself in a side-by-side battle with #98 Chase Briscoe for P3. Help for Hill came from another Toyota driver, #19 Brandon Jones, who got the #66 back onto the bumper of the #20 and clear of the #98. An accident in the back straightaway on the final lap forced NASCAR to display the caution flag, and Hill was able to drive across the start-finish line in P3, securing a career-best NASCAR national touring series finish in his 310th start. P3 is the best finish in the history of MBM Motorsports and the best NASCAR national touring series result ever for a Carl Long-owned stock car. The incredible finishing position for Hill earned the #66 MBM entry 34 points, as the team now works to claw itself out of the 75 point deficit it faced entering the race.

Chad Finchum moved forward at the start and picked up two decent stage finishes. He crossed the line in P23 to complete Stage 1, and he improved up to 20th by the end of Stage 2, still on the lead lap. Trouble occurred on the pit stop, as NASCAR deemed the #13 was pitted outside of its pit stall. The penalty for this violation is a one lap hold, and with a long green flag run following the penalty, there was never an opportunity to get that lap back. The 25-year-old kept the car clean to the end, clipping the grass in Turn 3 to avoid the multi-car wreck on lap 114. Finchum completed 118 of the 120 possible laps and took the checkered flag in P20, securing his seventh career Xfinity Series Top 20 finish and second at Daytona. The #13 picked up 17 owner points in the event and sits 23rd in the point standings leaving Daytona.

MBM Motorsports will also field the #61 regularly in 2020, but on occasion, the car and crew will come out of the Hattori Racing Enterprises (HRE) facilities. At Daytona, Austin Hill piloted the #61 for HRE. He made the Top 31 on speed by 14 hundredths of a second, ensuring a starting spot in the race. Hill began the event from P28, advanced through the field early, and spent eight laps in the Top 15. He took the green-and-white Stage 1 checkered flag in P16. Trouble struck early in Stage 2, when Hill got swept up in a crash trying to avoid a spinning car in front of him. The #61 finished its first race of 2020 in P35, out after 37 laps due to crash damage.

►02/19/2020 - Cup Daytona Duel Results

Timmy Hill drove the #66 VSI Racing / RoofClaim.com Ford Mustang with everything he had through the first 42 laps of his Bluegreen Vacations Duel, and it paid off, as the Port Tobacco, Maryland driver successfully raced his way into the starting lineup of the 62nd Daytona 500.

Hill started 17th in his Duel race, which contained a total of three Open cars, the others being #54 J.J. Yeley and #62 Brendan Gaughan. Based on the results of single-car qualifying and Duel Race #1, Hill and MBM knew that all they needed to do to make the 500 was finish ahead of Yeley. However, this quickly proved to be no small challenge. Rick Ware Racing, the team fielding the #54 car for Yeley, also had #52 B.J. McLeod in Duel #2, and McLeod was lined up directly behind his teammate on the grid based on the results of time trials from Sunday. McLeod pushed Yeley through many of the early laps in the race, working together to try to overtake Hill. The #54 and the #66 battled lap after lap, frequently running side-by-side and trading the transfer spot to advance into the "The Great American Race."

Approaching green flag pit stops, the #52, #54, and #66 all remained in the same pack and all three pitted together on the same lap. The MBM pit crew fueled the #66 car but lost a couple of seconds in the pits trying to get the fuel head to engage. Exiting pit road, the #54 had jumped out to around a 3 second advantage over the #66, but the Rick Ware cars got split up at their pit stops, leaving Yeley without his drafting partner. Hill was able to run down Yeley, and the battle was set to resume for the sprint to the finish when an accident took place headed down the backstretch. Yeley got turned into the outside retaining wall after being clipped in the right rear and suffered heavy damage that forced him to retire from the race. Hill had to take evasive action and managed to avoid significant damage. In addition to avoiding the wreck, Hill picked up the free pass award at the caution, returning the #66 Ford to the lead lap for the conclusion of the race. The 26-year-old cruised home in P16, racing into history and earning his first career start in the Daytona 500.

After celebrating with his MBM Motorsports team on pit road, Hill headed to the Media Center to discuss his race and the magnitude of his accomplishment. "I don't know if the smile is going to come off my face," said the jubilant driver. Regarding the pressure to get the #66 in the race, Hill said, "I had a lot of weight on my shoulders for this race. I felt like I was prepared for the pressure... I knew we had to make this race."

"For us, people don't really give us much of a shot. To come into this race as an underdog, nobody's really counting on, it feels really great to prove a lot of people wrong. This team, they jumped off the wall and celebrated. I could hear their voices on the radio.

"For me personally, this is my 10th year in NASCAR. It's my very first time making this race. I attempted it one other time. That ended in disappointment. To make this race, it's really special for us."

While it was a tremendous night for half of the MBM Motorsports garage, the other car came up short in its effort to transfer to the main event. Chad Finchum piloted the #49 Garrison Homes / Toyota of Knoxville Toyota Camry in Bluegreen Vacations Duel #1, beginning his race from P21. The Knoxville, Tennessee native faced stiff competition, as to qualify for the Daytona 500, Finchum needed to outrace #16 Justin Haley, #27 Reed Sorenson, and #96 Daniel Suarez in his Duel. The #49 got trapped two laps down at the lone yellow flag of the race due to losing the lead draft and taking his scheduled green flag pit stop prior to the caution. The other Open cars still running that Finchum needed to finish in front of were still on the lead lap, and without additional cautions to provide free pass opportunities, it was not possible for the #49 team to catch its immediate rivals. Finchum took the checkered flag with 57 of 60 laps complete, finishing 20th and ahead of the other driver on his lap, Rick Ware Racing's #51 Joey Gase. Unfortunately, two Open cars finished ahead of the #49, meaning Finchum was one of three drivers to fail to qualify for the 62nd Daytona 500.

►02/09/2020 - Daytona 500 Single-Car Qualifying Complete

The first weekend of the stock car season is in the books from Daytona International Speedway.

Two 50-minute practice sessions were held on Saturday afternoon. In the first session, both MBM Motorsports cars worked primarily on single-car runs, and in Practice 2, the two teams went out on track together to get a feel for their cars in disturbed air in the draft. Single-car qualifying followed on Sunday afternoon to set the starting lineup for the two Bluegreen Vacations Duel races on Thursday night.

Timmy Hill placed 42nd in Practice 1 and jumped up to 34th in Practice 2 after drafting with his MBM teammate. The #66 VSI Racing / RoofClaim.com Ford Mustang qualified at a speed of 186.625 MPH, or a lap time of 48.225 seconds. He was 35th quickest overall of the 43 entries, but more crucially, Hill placed 4th of the seven Open teams attempting to qualify for the Daytona 500. The most straightforward path for the Port Tobacco, Maryland driver to make the race will be to outrun #54 J.J. Yeley and #62 Brendan Gaughan in Duel #2 Thursday night. However, there are additional scenarios that could place Hill in the field that depend on the race results of Duel #1. In short, if either #16 Justin Haley or #27 Reed Sorenson race into the Daytona 500 from Duel #1 and #62 Gaughan races in from Duel #2, Hill will make the race on his qualifying speed.

Chad Finchum practiced 43rd fastest in the first Saturday session and reached 35th place in Practice 2 after drafting a bit with the #66. The #49 Garrison Homes / Toyota of Knoxville Toyota Camry qualified 41st at a speed of 181.763 MPH. Finchum will compete in the Bluegreen Vacations Duel Race #1 Thursday night. His qualifying speed leaves him a single path to qualify for the Daytona 500: he must finish ahead of all three other Open cars in his Duel race (#16 Haley, #27 Sorenson, and #96 Daniel Suarez).

Live television coverage of the battle to qualify for "The Great American Race" will be found on FOX Sports 1 at 7:00 p.m. ET, Thursday night, February 13th. Finchum will start the first Duel from P21, and Hill begins the second Duel from P17.

These are the only available on-track sessions prior to single car qualifying, on Sunday, February 9 at 12:30 p.m. ET, and the Bluegreen Vacations Duels on Thursday night, February 13, beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET. NASCAR has eliminated all post-qualifying, pre-Duel practice that has taken place in years past.

Timmy Hill will lead the two-car MBM entry driving the #66 VSI Racing / RoofClaim.com Ford Mustang. Chad Finchum is set to pilot the #49 Garrison Homes / Toyota of Knoxville Toyota Camry. Both drivers are trying to qualify for their first Daytona 500. MBM Motorsports missed the 2019 Daytona 500 with Joey Gase behind the wheel, but MBM did make the 2018 edition of the race with Mark Thompson in the cockpit.

►01/20/2020 - MBM January Team Update

Frontstretch, Jayski, Bob Pockrass, and several other NASCAR media members/outlets have reported that MBM Motorsports will enter two cars into the 62nd running of the Daytona 500, the premier event on the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series schedule.

Timmy Hill is expected to pilot a #66 Ford, powered by a Roush-Yates motor. The Port Tobacco, Maryland native has extensive NASCAR experience, including 92 Cup starts and 185 NASCAR Xfinity Series starts. Hill has driven for MBM every year since 2015 in Xfinity and has been the most prolific starter for the MBM Cup program since it debuted in 2017. Hill has only made one previous attempt to qualify for the Daytona 500; it came in 2017 with Rick Ware Racing in their first attempt since restarting their Cup program. Hill is still seeking his first start in "The Great American Race."

Chad Finchum is expected to drive a #49 Toyota, a number change from the #46, which MBM fielded in 2019 as their second car. Finchum has competed nearly full-time in the Xfinity Series for the past two seasons with MBM. The Knoxville, Tennessee native has 70 starts to his name, with best results coming at Daytona in July of 2018 (P14) and Texas in November of 2019 (P15). The 25-year-old has made one previous premier series start, at Bristol in April 2018, in which he finished 33rd.

Series race at Bristol in 2018. Photo Credit: FOX Sports.

The maximum field capacity for the Daytona 500 is 40 cars. 36 entries will be chartered and locked-in to the race. The remaining entries, including both MBM cars, must be one of the two fastest Open qualifiers or the highest finishing Open car in their Duel race in order to guarantee themselves a spot in the Daytona 500.

MBM Motorsports fielded four full-time Xfinity Series teams in 2019. In 2020, fans can expect more entries from the Cup program and at least one fewer full-time Xfinity teams. More details on the MBM Xfinity program for 2020 will be revealed at a later date.
